As aves
Effects on the weight gain of chikens by substitution of corn by sorghun and addition
of digestive enzymes to the ration
Abstract
The present experiment was carried out at the Federal University of Paraná
Experimental Station of Canguiri between 10/15/1997 and 12/04/1997. The main aim of the
experiment was to evaluate the effect of sorghun as a substitute of corn on the mean weight
gain of chicken. The experiment was carried out with addition of digestive enzymes. The
chicken were raised in 3 feeding phases: 0-21 days (initial phase), 22-42 days (growing
phase) and 43-49 days (final phase). Four levels of sorghun - 0, 15, 30 and 45 % - were
used in order to substitute corn in the diet, with the addition of 3 levels of digestive enzymes
(0, 750 and 1500 g E/per ton of ration. The experiment was carried out with a total of 3
repetitions of each treatment following a total casually experimental delineation. On the 21st
day it has been found that the main weight gain of the chickens fed with 45% of sorghun was
superior than the gain weight found for the chickens fed during 30 days with the ration
containing 15% of sorghun. As for the 3 levels of enzymes used, no difference has been
found in the weight gain in regard to the diet without sorghun. the results on days 42 and
49 were not consistent with the experimental results of the first phases, but sorghun did not
show any negative effect , considering that the results thus obtained were similar to the ones
obtained with only corn containing rations. Another important observation is that up to the
level of substitution of 45% sorghun did not interfere with the chicken weight gain. This
observation allows the conclusion that digestive enzymes addition the diet did not influence
the gain weight

inteiramente casualizado em arranjo fatorial 4 x 2 (níveis de adição de leveduras: 0; 0,15;
Abstract
A total of 1280 broilers were used in the present experiment, with the
objective to study the possibility of using yeast as substitute of antibiotics, in order to control
intestinal microorganisms and as growth promoter. A ration containing corn, soybean and
meat floor was freely supplied to the broilers. The experiment was delineated as completely
casual in a factorial arrangement of 4 X 2 (levels of yeast addition: 0, 0.15, 0.45 and 0.60 %)
with and without antibiotics. The results showed that yeast could substitute antibiotics used in
broilers ration at a level of efficiency identical to that of the antibiotics in terms of weight gain,
food consumption, food conversion and productive efficiency index
0,77, respectivamente.
Use of added fat in pre-initial swine feeding
Abstract
An evaluation of the inclusion of added fat in postweaning swine feeding as
a substitute - weight by weight - of corn, was carried out during April and May of 2001 at the
Canguiris UFPR Experimental Station Centers, Pinhais PR . For this experiment, 62
landrace/large white recently weaned litters, averaging 22 days of life, were used. The
research was carried out according to an experimental delineation in casual blocks with five
treatments at 5 different levels of fat inclusion (0, 1.5, 3.0, 4.5, and 6.0%), with six
repetitions for each treatment and two animals for each experimental unit. The pigs were
located in special boxes used at the Experimental Station Center for growth and
termination. The rations were supplied ad libitum. Analysis of variance of the results and the
average tests of the different treatments according to Newman Keulss tests were carried
out by means of the SAEG (Statistical and Genetics Analysis System) program. The values
for the treatments from one to five respectively of the following parameters were considered:
1. Earnings of daily weight (DW): 0.448, 0.427, 0.363, 0.351, 0.316 kg; 2. Daily ration
intakes (DCR): 1.40, 1.31, 1.23, 1.20, 1.22 kg; 3. Alimentary conversions (AC): 1.57, 1.52,
1.71, 1.69, 1.97. The lineal regression (P < 0.05) of the results found for DW, DCR and AC
showed significant differences among the different treatments, with r² of 0.96, 0.79 and
0.77, respectively
