Aim: To identify the relationship between workload perception and burnout levels of employees at nursing homes and elderly rehabilitation centers. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at private and public nursing homes and elderly rehabilitation centers in Istanbul. An Information Form that questioned demographic characteristics, the Individual Workload Perception Scale and Maslach Burnout Inventory were used to collect data on the employees (n=777) that provided elderly care at these facilities. Results: Averages total scores of the emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, personal accomplishment sub-dimensions of the Maslach Burnout Inventory and the average total score of the overall scale were calculated as 23.34±7.35, 9.87±4.56, 17.22±5.47, and 50.44±13.77, respectively. Individual workload perception had statistically significant relationships with emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment (F=39.273, p=0.001; F=23.894, p=0.001; F=33.971; p=0.001). Conclusion: A significant relationship was observed between the increase in manager support, coworker support, unit support, and the decrease in the total burnout level.

Aim To identify healthcare professionals' attitudes toward the coronavirus vaccine. Background Controlling the coronavirus pandemic depends on achieving a high level of herd immunity. Accordingly, it is very important that healthcare professionals become role models by displaying positive attitudes toward vaccination. Methods This cross-sectional study was conducted between March and April 2021 with a total of 309 healthcare professionals. Data were collected via an online surveys using an "Introductory Information Form" and "Attitudes Towards the COVID-19 Vaccine Scale." One-way variance analysis and Bonferroni correction were used for the comparison of nonnormally distributed quantitative variables between more than two groups. The Kruskal-Wallis test and Dunn-Bonferroni test were used to compare non-normally distributed quantitative variables between more than two groups. Pearson correlation analysis was performed to evaluate the relationships between the quantitative variables. Results Regarding the healthcare professionals' attitudes towards the COVID-19 vaccine, the average score of positive attitudes was 3.52 +/- 0.87, and the average score of negative attitudes was 3.39 +/- 0.68. A statistically significant weak relationship was found between the ages of the participants and the average score of their positive attitudes towards the COVID-19 vaccine. The negative attitude score of the individuals who wanted to get the coronavirus vaccine was significantly higher than those who were undecided or did not want to get the vaccine. Conclusions Healthcare professionals completely agreed with the opinion "I would persuade everyone around me to get the coronavirus vaccine," and completely disagreed with the opinion "I believe that they will inject microchips to people with the coronavirus vaccine." Healthcare professionals have positive attitudes toward the COVID-19 vaccine. COVID-19-vaccinated participants' positive and negative attitude scores were found higher than those who were not vaccinated. Implications for nursing and health policy Supportive social activities should be organized in the public sense so that healthcare professionals act as a role model by displaying positive attitudes toward vaccination

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the relationships between workload perception and the work-life balance of intensive care nurses working during the pandemic. Materials and Methods: Descriptive and cross-sectional research was conducted with 325 intensive care nurses who were members of the Turkish Intensive Care Nurses Association. Data were collected via WhatsApp using Google Surveys for a Nurse Information form, the Individual Workload Perception scale, and the Work-Life Balance scale. Pearson’s correlation and regression analyses were used for the data analysis in addition to descriptive statistics. Results: The total average score of the Personal Workload Scale of the intensive care nurses was 3.26±0.60 [minimum (min): 1.71; maximum (max): 4.87] and the total average score of the Work-life Balance scale was 2.79±0.710 (min: 1.3; max: 4.9). The Workload scale total average score significantly increased the Work-life Balance total average score (β=0.658). Daily work time in the intensive care unit significantly decreased the work-life balance total average score (β=-0.160). Conclusion: Intensive care nurses’ workload perception and work-life balance were at a moderate level. Workload and long working hours deteriorate the work-life balance of intensive care nurses. Administrative and organizational regulations to enhance the work-life balance of the intensive care nurses by decreasing the workload can be effective in reaching the desired patient care results

Amaç doğrultusunda Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Bireysel İş Yükü Algı Ölçeği, Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeğinden oluşan anket formu; Huzurevi ve Yaşlı Bakım ve Rehabilitasyon Merkezlerinde görev yapan toplam 777 sağlık çalışanına uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Huzurevi ve Yaşlı Bakım Rehabilitasyon Merkezleri sağlık çalışanlarının çalışma ortamı bireysel iş yükü algılarının yüksek düzeyde olumlu olduğu, orta düzeyde duygusal tükenme yaşadıkları, düşük düzeyde duyarsızlaşma ve ortanın üzerinde kişisel başarı düzeyinde azalma yaşadıklarını sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
