On the ratio of consecutive gaps between primes

    Get PDF
In the present work we prove a common generalization of Maynard-Tao's recent result about consecutive bounded gaps between primes and on the Erd\H{o}s-Rankin bound about large gaps between consecutive primes. The work answers in a strong form a 60 years old problem of Erd\"os, which asked whether the ratio of two consecutive primegaps can be infinitely often arbitrarily small, and arbitrarily large, respectively

Novel Bound States Treatment of the Two Dimensional Schrodinger Equation with Pseudocentral Plus Multiparameter Noncentral Potential

By converting the rectangular basis potential V(x,y) into the form as V(r)+V(r, phi) described by the pseudo central plus noncentral potential, particular solutions of the two dimensional Schrodinger equation in plane-polar coordinates have been carried out through the analytic approaching technique of the Nikiforov and Uvarov (NUT). Both the exact bound state energy spectra and the corresponding bound state wavefunctions of the complete system are determined explicitly and in closed forms. Our presented results are identical to those of the previous works and they may also be useful for investigation and analysis of structural characteristics in a variety of quantum systemsComment: Published, 16 page

Detection of adenovirus hexon sequence in a cat by polymerase chain reaction(short communication)

    No full text
Adenoviral nucleic acid was detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in pharyngeal and rectal swab samples of a cat seropositive for adenovirus and suffering from transient hepatic failure. The samples were taken at a one-year interval, and both faecal samples as well as the second pharyngeal sample were positive in PCR performed with general adenovirus primers. The size of the amplified products corresponded to that of the positive control. The identity of the amplicons was also confirmed by DNA sequencing. The 301 bp long hexon gene fragment was very similar to but distinguishable from the corresponding hexon sequence of human adenovirus type 2. This result suggests the possibility of persistent carrier status and shedding of adenovirus in cats

Evaluation of scanning parameters for a surfacecolour laser scanner

    No full text
Recent innovations in laser scanner technology provide a potentially useful technique for accurate three-dimensional (3D) documentation of the face. Aim of this study was to evaluate and optimise facial surface acquisition parameters and measurements obtained by a Cyberware colour laser scanner and to compare those measures to the common anthropometric ones made by individual examiners. This preliminary study indicates that 3D scanning is a sufficiently precise and repeatable surface 3D acquisition method
