There was increasing in the international needing for fossil fuel, which is formed from nonrenewable materials such as crude oil. Bio-ethanol considered one of the materials that can be produced from renewable sources like the fermentation of sugar cane. 2wt% CuO doped HZSM-5 has been modified by the impregnation method. All experimental runs have conducted at 500 °C, 1 atmosphere pressure and WHSV 3.5 h-1 in a fixed bed reactor. Catalyst, which modified in this work, was analyzed by SEM and XRD as well as TGA experiment. The analysis hydrocarbons products have done by gas chromatographs provided with flame ionization detector (FID) and thermal conductivity detector (TCD). It has been studied CuO doped HZSM-5 catalyst gives higher ethanol conversion and yield especially light olefins as compared to HZSM-5 parent catalyst. In addition, reduces the coke formation over HZSM-5, therefore, enhanced the life of HZSM-5 catalyst. HZSM-5, ethanol to hydrocarbons, Catalyst, coke, deactivatio

In this work, economy novel hydrazine-derived coumarin 4-(6-methylcoumarin)acetohydrazide (MCA) were synthesized, characterized, and tested as an inhibitor for the corrosion of a surface of mild steel in an acidic environment through weight loss and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques. Results showed that the synthesized inhibitor can inhibit the corrosion of mild steel surface in a 1 M hydrochloric acid environment. The corrosion inhibition efficiency of MCA increases with increasing MCA concentration and decreases with increasing temperature. SEM analysis showed the formation of a film as a protective layer from MCA molecules on the surface of mild steel. Adsorption of the MCA molecules on the mild steel surface in the presence of hydrochloric acid environment was obeyed Langmuir isotherm. The density functional theory (DFT) calculations were used to study the relationship between molecular structure and inhibition efficiency and they found in good agreement

The corrosion inhibition effectiveness of thiosemicarbazide compound, namely 3-nitro-5-(2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazolyl)nitrobenzene (NATN), on mild steel in 1 M hydrochloric acid media has been investigated by weight loss technique. The results exhibit that the corrosion ratio of mild steel was reduced regarding to adding NATN. The corrosion inhibition rate for the NATN was 92.3% at the highest investigated NATN concentration. From the weight loss results it could be concluded that NATN with sulfur, nitrogen and oxygen atoms has clarified best corrosion inhibition achievement comparing to 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid. Regarding to theoretical studies, DFT was employee to figured geometrical structure and electronic characteristics on NATN. The investigation have been extensive to the HOMO and LUMO analysis to evaluate the energy gap, Ionization potential, Electron Affinity, Global Hardness, Chemical Potential, Electrophilicity, Electronegativity and Polarizability.
