The Formation of Youth-Led Participatory Networks in Urban Bangladesh: A Case Study of the BGreen Project
Through the lens of a participatory action research platform that I founded called The BGreen Project (BGreen), my research explores networked political economic connections that were developed as a result of this academic-community initiative. BGreen was a participatory action research platform that connected urban high school, college, university youth in an assortment of participatory/deliberative activities in the fields of education and environment. With their ongoing engagement in the participatory network called BGreen, Bangladeshi youth are negotiating their affiliation to diverse political economic structures (for example, their educational institutions) in creative ways and forging innovative methods of transformative participation as a means for potentially deep, sustained and long-term social change. I am proposing that a shift in the organizational structure of higher educational systems is the need of the hour in Bangladesh, where the youth can be key players in developing a new architecture for critical and socially engaged educational processes in Bangladesh. Combining the theoretical paradigms of Actor Network Theory (ANT) and Participatory Action Research (PAR), I argue for the development of what I call the BGreen participatory network that is informed by the democratic inclusion of multi human and non-human actors/actants to address the challenges at hand
Sensory Processing dysfunctions of children With Autism Spectrum Disorder and it’s Relative with Some Variables

The sample consisted of (30) child the range of (3-10) years selected randomly. The researcher used Sensory Profile to explore the sensory processing dysfunctions, consisted of (65) items distributed on (6) domains (Auditory Processing, Visual Processing, Vestibular Processing, Touch Processing, Multisensory Processing, Oral Sensory Processing). The results of the study indicated )66.67%) of autistic children in this sample had sensory processing dysfunctions, There are significant statistical differences at the level of (0.05) between the children in the study sample on The Sensory Profile attributed to autism severity on the whole of a scale domains and on the four subdomains, There are no significant statistical differences at the level of (0.05) between the children in the study sample on the Sensory Profile attributed to age on the whole of a scale domains and on the subdomains.
Based on the findings of the study the researcher pointed out the need of comparison studies about the prevalence the sensory processing dysfunctions between (children ,teenager, adult), and another studies as the relation between sensory processing dysfunctions and the adaptive behavior dysfunctions
The Level of Knowledge about Sensory Integration disorder by Specialists In Children with Autism Spectrum
The aim of this study is to identify the the level of knowledge about the appearances of sensory integration disorder by Specialists who working with autistic children , who have master in many specializations (special education, speech and language , psychomotor) in some center for rehabilitation in Damascus , and the relationship with the specialization, and the number of years of teaching experience. The sample consisted of (15) Specialists of special education, (15) Specialists of speech and language ,(10) Specialists of psychomotor. The researcher developed a questionnaire to Achieve the aims of this study, the questionnaire was consisting of (70) items distributed on (6) domains (proprioception system disorder, vestibular system disorder, tactile system disorder, Auditory system Disorder, Visual system Disorders, Olfactory and tasting system disorder)
The results of the study indicate that the level of possessing knowledge about the appearances of sensory integration disorder by Specialists was low on the some of sub-dimensions of the questionnaire and medium on the other sub-dimensions of the questionnaire, and medium on the questionnaire as a whole,. The results also indicated that there are statistically significant differences between the average degrees of Specialists on the questionnaire as a whole according to specialization in favor psychomotor, and there are no statistically significant differences according to number of years of teaching experience.
Training Needs for Mothers of children With Autism Spectrum Disorder and it’s Relation with Some Variables
This study aims to investigate the needs of Mothers of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Damascus, according to educational level of mothers, severity of autism and gender of child. The researcher adopted the descriptive approach to achieve the aim of the study. The sample consisted of (78) mothers selected randomly. The researcher developed a questionnaire to explore the needs of those mothers, the questionnaire was in two parts consisting of (46) items the first part about theoretical knowledge it consisted of (20) items, the second was about practical skills it contained (26) items. The degree of validity and reliability of the questionnaire was good, so Cronbach's Alpha equation that which reach (0.97).
. The findings of the study indicated, the degree of estimation of mothers of children with autism disorder to their training needs is high on theoretical knowledge domain and practical skills domain and on the whole questionnaire.
The results also showed there are statistically significant differences between degree of training needs of mothers attributed to their educational level and to the severity of the child's disorder , and there are no found significant differences between degree of training needs of mothers attributable to gender of child.
Based on the findings of the study the researcher pointed out the need of conducting more studies on new samples of mothers, with other variables, and on samples, including parents and brothers, and recommended increasing attention to training families of children with autism spectrum disorder, especially mothers, through the preparation of periodic training programs by centers that are concerned with these children
Characterization of greater middle eastern genetic variation for enhanced disease gene discovery
The Greater Middle East (GME) has been a central hub of human migration and population admixture. The tradition of consanguinity, variably practiced in the Persian Gulf region, North Africa, and Central Asia1-3, has resulted in an elevated burden of recessive disease4. Here we generated a whole-exome GME variome from 1,111 unrelated subjects. We detected substantial diversity and admixture in continental and subregional populations, corresponding to several ancient founder populations with little evidence of bottlenecks. Measured consanguinity rates were an order of magnitude above those in other sampled populations, and the GME population exhibited an increased burden of runs of homozygosity (ROHs) but showed no evidence for reduced burden of deleterious variation due to classically theorized ‘genetic purging’. Applying this database to unsolved recessive conditions in the GME population reduced the number of potential disease-causing variants by four- to sevenfold. These results show variegated genetic architecture in GME populations and support future human genetic discoveries in Mendelian and population genetics

Fair Trade Practices In Contemporary Bangladeshi Society: The Case Of Aarong
Community, as traditionally conceptualized, has been an issue of widespread conversation and analysis. The conversation on community is extended here by engaging in the business practice of fair trade, which boasts of being an ethical entrepreneurial force that places its ideological focus on creating sustainable and fair communities that directly connects producers and consumers. Fair trade claims to bridge wage discrepancies, retailers goals and consumer concerns for social and environmental responsibility, however, the extent to which it is indeed effective in creating such a sustainable community in varied cultural and economic contexts is explored and analyzed in this project. The growing presence of “alternative” business spaces, specifically fair-trade organizations in Bangladesh, are focused on in this project, to study their role in community building, one that deviates from a so-called mainstream “capitalocentric” consumer society development model. Global fair-trade organizations like Aarong, Bangladesh and Bibi Productions that are located (and originated) outside the Global North/West are investigated and analyzed. Through this qualitative research project, the meanings and values that people attach to consuming products that stem from a production process that very self-consciously sets itself apart in its ethical production practices is investigated. Through an exploration of Fair-Trade Consumer Culture in Bangladesh, the fixed notion of the trade concept is challenged and the need for a new framework that is more inclusive and appropriate to the geo-political context of Bangladesh emerges, one that can revolutionize the applicability of the term beyond its current state

Association of exogenous factors with molecular epidemiology of Staphylococcus aureus in human oral cavity
The frequency of Staphylococcus aureus strains associated with oral cavity microbiota has prodigious consideration. Although S. aureus has been reflected as an ephemeral member of the human oral cavity microbiota, the isolation, identification, and characterization of S. aureus is important. The present study aimed to characterize S. aureus strains from the oral cavity microflora, isolation of S. aureus from the human oral cavity microbiota, and demographic information of the participants to evaluate exogenous factors associated with the presence of S. aureus and their genetic analysis linkage with different factors. The method used in this study is the isolation of oral cavity microbiomes using sheep blood agar and Mannitol salt agar. We performed antibiotic profiling with various antibiotics and genetic analysis utilizing gene-specific primers for specific genes, including nuc, mecA, pvl, agr, and coa. A significant number of S. aureus isolates were found in the oral cavity of humans 18/84 (21.42%), and all 18 strains tested positive for the confirmatory nuc gene. Antibiotic resistance-conferring gene mecA was positive in 10 (55.6%) isolates. It was found that the occurrence of pvl, agr, and coagulase (coa) genes was 9 (50%), 6 (33.33%), and 10 (55.6%), respectively. The genetic analysis reported that significant associations were present between male and mecA gene (P = 0.03) and coa (P = 0.03), smokers with the occurrence of mecA (P = 0.02), agr (P = 0.048) and coa (P = 0.02) genes. Likewise, the association of antibiotic usage was significantly found with mecA (P = 0.02), coa (P = 0.02); however, the individuals who have taken orthodontic treatment recently have a significant association with agr (P = 0.017). The use of mouth rinse was significantly associated with the prevalence of the pvl gene (P = 0.01), and tooth brushing frequency and inflammation of the buccal cavity were also statistically significant in relation to pvl gene prevalence (P = 0.02, 0.00, respectively). Moreover, calories and weight-controlled diet were significantly associated with mecA, agr, and highly significant with coa (P = 0.02, 0.048, 0.000), so all P < 0.05, and no significant association was found between the socioeconomic status of individuals with aforementioned analyzed genes
