The zero-error capacity of channels with a countably infinite input alphabet formally generalises Shannon's classical problem about the capacity of discrete memoryless channels. We solve the problem for three particular channels. Our results are purely combinatorial and in line with previous work of the third author about permutation capacity.Comment: 8 page

Zero-error capacity of binary channels with memory

We begin a systematic study of the problem of the zero--error capacity of noisy binary channels with memory and solve some of the non--trivial cases.Comment: 10 pages. This paper is the revised version of our previous paper having the same title, published on ArXiV on February 3, 2014. We complete Theorem 2 of the previous version by showing here that our previous construction is asymptotically optimal. This proves that the isometric triangles yield different capacities. The new manuscript differs from the old one by the addition of one more pag

    Reconstructing ρ0\rho^0 and ω\omega mesons from non-leptonic decays in C+C at 2AGeV

We predict transverse and longitudinal momentum spectra and yields of ρ0\rho^0 and ω\omega mesons reconstructed from hadron correlations in C+C reactions at 2~AGeV. The rapidity and pTp_T distributions for reconstructable ρ0\rho^0 mesons differs strongly from the primary distribution, while the ω\omega's distributions are only weakly modified. We discuss the temporal and spatial distributions of the particles emitted in the hadron channel. Finally, we report on the mass shift of the ρ0\rho^0 due to its coupling to the N(1520)N^*(1520), which is observable in both the di-lepton and ππ\pi\pi channel. Our calculations can be tested with the Hades experiment at GSI, Darmstadt

Production at High pTp_T in Central Au+Au and p+pp+p collisions at sNN=200\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}} = 200 GeV in STAR

he ρ0\rho^0 production at high-pTp_T (5.0 pT\leq p_T \leq 10.0 GeV/cc) measured in minimum bias p+pp+p, Au+Au and central Au+Au collisions in the STAR detector are presented. The ρ0/π\rho^0/\pi ratio measured in p+pp+p is compared to PYTHIA calculations as a test of perturbative quantum chromodynamics (pQCD) that describes reasonably well particle production from hard processes. The ρ0\rho^0 nuclear modification factor are also presented. In p+pp+p collisions, charged pions and (anti-)protons are measured in the range 5.0 pT\leq p_T \leq 15.0 GeV/cc and the anti-particle to particle ratio and the baryon to meson ratios of these hadrons are discussed.Comment: 4 pages, 8 figures, proccedings for QM200

    Skewincidence

We introduce a new class of problems lying halfway between questions about graph capacity and intersection. We say that two binary sequences x and y of the same length have a skewincidence if there is a coordinate i for which x_i=y_{i+1}=1 or vice versa. We give rather sharp bounds on the maximum number of binary sequences of length n any pair of which has a skewincidence

INSTITUTOS FEDERAIS E COMMUNITY COLLEGES AMERICANOS, O FOMENTO À PESQUISA CIENTÍFICA COMO CAMINHO PARA O SUCESSO

    Get PDF

rho0 Production in Cu+Cu Collisions at 200 and 62.4 GeV in STAR

The results on rho(770)0 production in Cu+Cu collisions at 200 and 62.4 GeV in STAR are presented. The rho0 is measured via its hadronic decay channel and used as a sensitive tool to examine the collision dynamics in the hadronic medium.Comment: 4 pages, 6 figures, to appear at the proceedings of the 21st International Conference on Ultrarelativistic Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions, QM2009, March 30 - April 4, Knoxville, T
