Age-related differences in the response of blood stroke volume to stimulation of the sympathetic ganglion in rats with β-adrenoceptor blockade

    Get PDF
Blood stroke volume in rats aging 21 and 56 days decreased during β-adrenoceptor blockade with propranolol, but increased again by the 15th minute after treatment. Suprathreshold stimulation of the stellate ganglion decreased the stroke volume and increased the heart rate in control animals. Electrical stimulation after β-adrenoceptor blockade was followed by a further decrease in stroke volume in young rats. In 100-day-old animals this parameter remained unchanged, while the cardiac output improved. © Springer Science+Business Media, Inc. 2004

Effect of electrical stimulation of right stellate ganglion on cardiac function in rats during postnatal ontogeny

In all examined age groups of rats, the threshold amplitude of stellate ganglion stimulation is higher for the positive chronotropic effect than for the inotropic effect. The stimulation produced a more pronounced effect on stroke volume than on heart rate

Effect of β-adrenoceptor blockade on cardiac activity in rats during postnatal ontogeny

    Get PDF
Electrical stimulation of the right stellate ganglion produces a positive chronotropic effect in 21-, 56-, and 100-day-old rats. The response of the heart rate to suprathreshold stimulation increased from the 21st to 100th day. By contrast, during β-adrenoceptor blockade the heart rate response decreased. The data suggest that the role of β-adrenoceptor in the regulation of cardiac chronotropic function increased with age. © 2003 Plenum Publishing Corporation

Development of modern methods for the diagnostics of murals in architectural monuments

    Get PDF
The paper studies monitoring of the state of murals, retrieval of data pertaining to this state and management and storing of the said data. The possibility of integration of traditional methods of mural mapping and modern methods of data visualization, including new Google Project Tango device technology for fixation of complex textures of inner 3D volumes of architectural monuments has been investigated (for instance Assumption Cathedral). We further discuss the express-scanning of automated cartogramming for further comparison of states and methods of assessing the damage done to the mural. Results indicate that additional work is needed to improve the precision of the method.peer-reviewe

Adrenal Gland Hormones in Primary School Children

    Get PDF
© 2015 Springer Science+Business Media New York It was found that in 8-9-year-old children, the hormonal part of the sympathoadrenal system more rapidly develops in boys, while the transmitter part develops more rapidly in girls. The androgenic and glucocorticoid function of the adrenal cortex matures earlier in girls. To the end of the school year, excretion of epinephrine and norepinephrine decreased, which attests to the development of fatigue

The impact of increased physical exertion on the state of adrenal cortex and pubertal development in boys

© 2014, Pleiades Publishing, Inc. The study of the functional state of the adrenal cortex (AC) in young athletes aged 11 to 15 years, which was assessed by daily free (Cf) and bound (Cb) cortisol excretion levels, and the comparison of these levels with those of the boys from the control group made it possible to conclude that the increased physical exertion in the form of regular athletic training had a dominating effect on the age-related changes in the AC and pubertal development in the young athletes. It was found that the 12- to 14-year-old athletes had stably high Cf excretion levels, which were significantly decreased by the age of 15 years on the background of high Cb levels, as compared to the nonathletes, whose urinary cortisol levels were significantly lower (p < 0.05) and were progressively increased (p < 0.05) from 13 to 15 years of age. It was found that pubertal development (the development of secondary sex characteristics) was relatively delayed in the athletes, and pubertal changes in the glucocorticoid function of the AC reflected mainly its adaptive responses providing the increased resistance of the child’s body to increased physical exertion

Influence of the initial autonomic tone on the state of hemodynamics of primary schoolchildren

    Get PDF
The functional state of the cardiovascular system and its reaction to local isometric exercise in seven- and eight-year-old children was studied with consideration for the initial tone of the autonomic nervous system. Using the methods of variational pulsometry and tetrapolar thoracic rheography, it was established that children with predominant sympathetic influences on the heart rate (67-56. 55% of the total number of those examined) had increased stroke and minute blood volumes against the background of relative tachycardia, compared with normo- and vagotonics. In sympathotonic boys, the leading component in the mechanism of urgent adaptation of the cardiovascular system to static exercise is spastic reactions of the vascular bed, which allow this contingent of schoolchildren to be identified as a group of children at high risk of autonomic dystonia with the hypertensive vascular syndrome. © 2012 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd

Inotropic effect of dopamine on rat heart during postnatal ontogeny

    Get PDF
We studied the effect of dopamine in concentrations of 10-9, 10-8, 10-7, 10-6, and 10-5 M on contraction strength of isolated myocardial strips from the right atrium and right ventricle of rats aging 21, 42, 56, and 100 days. Dopamine in a concentration of 10-9 M had a positive inotropic effect in rats of various ages. Increasing the concentration of dopamine to 10-7- 10-5 M was accompanied by a negative inotropic effect on the heart. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York

Effect of ATP and its analogs on contractility of rat myocardium during ontogeny

    Get PDF
The effects of P2-receptor agonists on myocardial contractility were examined in rats aging 14-100 days. ATP and its stable analog 2-methylthio-ATP potentiated the contraction force of isolated myocardial strips in a dose-dependent manner. The agonist concentrations producing the positive inotropic effect increased from days 14 to 100 of life. The efficiency of extracellular purines depends on animal age: in 14-and 56-day rats the positive inotropic effects of ATP and 2-methylthio-ATP were similar, while in 100-day rats ATP produced more pronounced effect than 2-methylthio-ATP. © Springer Science+Business Media, Inc. 2007
