    Gravitinos and axinos produced in the late decays of other supersymmetric particles are well-motivated dark matter (DM) candidates, whose experimental evidences are very distinctive and different from other standard candidates, as thermal produced neutralinos in similar supersymmetric models. In particular, charged sleptons could appear stable because of the length of its lifetime. The direct production of such particles at both the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and a future International Linear Collider (ILC) can give not only a clear signature of supersymmetry but also the first non-gravitational evidence of dark matter.Comment: 4 pages, LaTeX, 1 figure, Updated references.     Correlation between Tc and Lattice Parameters of Novel Superconducting NaxCoO2 yH2O

    We synthesized the five batches of the samples of the novel P3 type superconductor, Nax_{x}(H3_{3}O)y_{y'}CoO2y_{2}\cdot y''H2_{2}O, by the soft chemical process starting from α\alpha-NaCoO2_{2}. The chemical and structural properties varied rather widely from batch to batch, with a result that TcT_{c} varied from 4.6 K to 3.2 K. The magnetic susceptibility above TcT_{c} shows upturn at low temperature as in the case of the P2 phase.     Cluster derivation of Parisi's RSB solution for disordered systems

    We propose a general scheme in which disordered systems are allowed to sacrifice energy equi-partitioning and separate into a hierarchy of ergodic sub-systems (clusters) with different characteristic time-scales and temperatures. The details of the break-up follow from the requirement of stationarity of the entropy of the slower cluster, at every level in the hierarchy. We apply our ideas to the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick model, and show how the Parisi solution can be {\it derived} quantitatively from plausible physical principles. Our approach gives new insight into the physics behind Parisi's solution and its relations with other theories, numerical experiments, and short range models.Comment: 7 pages 5 figure

    Is Karenia a synonym of Asterodinium-Brachidinium (Gymnodiniales, Dinophyceae)?

    From material collected in open waters of the NW and Equatorial Pacific Ocean the detailed morphology of brachidiniaceans based on two specimens of Asterodinium gracile is reported for the first time. SEM observations showed that the straight apical groove, the morphological characters and orientation of the cell body were similar to those described for species of Karenia. Brachidinium and Asterodinium showed high morphological variability in the length of the extensions and intermediate specimens with Karenia. Karenia-like cells that strongly resemble Brachidinium and Asterodinium but lacking the extensions co-occurred with the typical specimens. The life cycle and morphology of Karenia papilionacea should be investigated under natural conditions because of the strong similarity with the brachidiniaceans

    Non-magnetic pair-breaking effect on La(Fe_{1-x}Zn_{x})AsO_{0.85} studied by NMR and NQR

    75^{75}As and 139^{139}La NMR and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) studies on Zn-substituted LaFeAsO0.85_{0.85} have been performed to investigate the Zn-impurity effects microscopically. Although superconductivity in LaFeAsO0.85_{0.85} disappears by 3% Zn substitution, we found that NMR/NQR spectra and NMR physical quantities in the normal state are hardly changed, indicating that the crystal structure and electronic states are not modified by Zn substitution. Our results suggest that the suppression of superconductivity by Zn substitution is not due to the change of the normal-state properties, but due to strong non-magnetic pair-breaking effect to superconductivity.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, This paper was chosen as "Paper of Editors' Suggestion
