    Effects of Mentha pulegium water extract dipping on quality and shelf life of silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) during superchilled storage

    The effects of Mentha pulegium water extract dipping on quality and shelf life of silver carp during superchilled storage were investigated. Fish samples were treated with water extract of 1 and 3% M. pulegium, and then stored at -3 οC for 30 days. The control and the treated fish samples were analyzed periodically for chemical (pH, PV, TBA, TVB-N), and sensory characteristics. The results indicated that the effect of M. pulegium extract dipping on fish samples was to retain their good quality characteristics and extend the shelf life during superchilled storage, which was supported by the results of chemical and sensory evaluation analyses. In this respect, the sample supplemented with 3% water extract was more potent compared with the 1% one in extending the shelf life of fish fillets

    Entropic uncertainty relation for power-law wave packets

    For the power-law quantum wave packet in configuration space, the variance of the position observable may be divergent. Accordingly, the information-entropic formulation of the uncertainty principle becomes more appropriate than the Heisenberg-type formulation, since it involves only the finite quantities. It is found that the total amount of entropic uncertainty converges to its lower bound in the limit of a large value of the exponent.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figure

This interaction is attractive and causes an increase in occupation number for all modes.     The exactly solvable scalar-tensor potential of the four-component Dirac equation has been obtained by the Darboux transformation method. The constructed potential has been interpreted in terms of nucleon-nucleon and Schwinger interactions of neutral particles with lattice sites during their channeling Hamiltonians of a Schwinger type is obtained by means of the Darboux transformation chain.     The reaction d(\vec\gamma,np) has been studied using the tagged and polarised LADON gamma ray beam at an energy 30 - 50 MeV to investigate the existence of narrow dibaryonic resonances recently suggested from the experimental measurements in a different laboratory. The beam was obtained by Compton back-scattering of laser light on the electrons of the storage ring ADONE.     Automatic Classification of Roof Shapes for Multicopter Emergency Landing Site Selection

    Geographic information systems (GIS) now provide accurate maps of terrain, roads, waterways, and building footprints and heights. Aircraft, particularly small unmanned aircraft systems, can exploit additional information such as building roof structure to improve navigation accuracy and safety particularly in urban regions. This paper proposes a method to automatically label building roof shape types. Satellite imagery and LIDAR data from Witten, Germany are fed to convolutional neural networks (CNN) to extract salient feature vectors. Supervised training sets are automatically generated from pre-labeled buildings contained in the OpenStreetMap database. Multiple CNN architectures are trained and tested, with the best performing networks providing a condensed feature set for support vector machine and decision tree classifiers. Satellite and LIDAR data fusion is shown to provide greater classification accuracy than through use of either data type individually

    Detection of hydrogen peroxide produced at a liquid/liquid interface using scanning electrochemical microscopy

    Scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) was used to monitor in situ hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) produced at a polarized water/1,2-dichloroethane (DCE) interface. The water/DCE interface was formed between a DCE droplet containing decamethylferrocene (DMFc) supported on a solid electrode and an acidic aqueous solution. H2O2 was generated by reducing oxygen with DMFc at the water/DCE interface, and was detected with a SECM tip positioned in the vicinity of the interface using a substrate generation/ tip collection mode. This work shows unambiguously how the H2O2 generation depends on the polarization of the liquid/liquid interface, and how proton-coupled electron transfer reactions can be controlled at liquid/liquid interfaces

    The π\pi-Gluon Exchange Interaction Between Constituent Quarks

    The interaction mediated by irreducible pion and gluon exchange between constituent quarks is calculated and shown to have a strong tensor component, which tends to cancel the pion exchange tensor interaction between quarks. Its spin-spin component is somewhat weaker than the pion exchange spin-spin interaction, while its central and spin-orbit components are small in comparison to the corresponding single gluon exchange interactions. The combination of the π\pi-gluon exchange interaction with the single pion exchange interaction and a weak gluon exchange interaction between constituent quarks has the qualitative features required for understanding the hyperfine splittings of the spectra of the nucleon and the Δ\Delta resonances.Comment: LaTeX, 17 pages, 5 Postscript figure

    Parity nonconservation effects in the photodesintegration of polarized deuterons

    P-odd correlations in the deuteron photodesintegration are considered. The π\pi-meson exchange is not operative in the case of unpolarized deuterons. For polarized deuterons a P-odd correlation due to the π\pi-meson exchange is about 3×1093 \times 10^{-9}. Short-distance P-odd contributions exceed essentially than the contribution of the π\pi-meson exchange.Comment: 12 pages, Latex, 3 figure
