    Hyperfine splitting in noncommutative spaces

    We study the hyperfine splitting in the framework of the noncommutative quantum mechanics (NCQM) developed in the literature. The results show deviations from the usual quantum mechanics. We show that the energy difference between two excited F = I + 1/2 and the ground F = I - 1/2 states in a noncommutative space (NCS) is bigger than the one in the commutative case, so the radiation wavelength in NCSs must be shorter than the radiation wavelength in commutative spaces. We also find an upper bound for the noncommutativity parameter.Comment: No figure

    Influence of Charge Order on the Ground States of TMTTF Molecular Salts

    (TMTTF)2AsF6 and (TMTTF)2SbF6 are both known to undergo a charge ordering phase transition, though their ground states are different. The ground state of the first is Spin-Peierls, and the second is an antiferromagnet. We study the effect of pressure on the ground states and the charge-ordering using 13C NMR spectroscopy. The experiments demonstrate that the the CO and SP order parameters are repulsive, and consequently the AF state is stabilized when the CO order parameter is large, as it is for (TMTTF)2SbF6.     NMR evidence for very slow carrier density fluctuations in the organic metal (TMTSF)2_2ClO4_4

    We have investigated the origin of the large increase in spin-echo decay rates for the 77^{77}Se nuclear spins at temperatures near to T=30KT=30K in the organic superconductor (TMTSF)2_2ClO4_4. The measured angular dependence of T2−1T_2^{-1} demonstrates that the source of the spin-echo decays lies with carrier density fluctuations rather than fluctuations in TMTSF molecular orientation. The very long time scales are directly associated with the dynamics of the anion ordering occurring at T=25KT=25K, and the inhomogeneously broadened spectra at lower temperatures result from finite domain sizes. Our results are similar to observations of line-broadening effects associated with charge-ordering transitions in quasi-two dimensional organic conductors.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure

    Effect of Resin Coating and Chlorhexidine on Microleakage of Two Resin Cements after Storage

    Objective: Evaluating the effect of resin coating and chlorhexidine on microleakage of two resin cements after water storage.Materials and Methods: Standardized class V cavities were prepared on facial and lingual surfaces of one hundred twenty intact human molars with gingival margins placed 1mm below the cemento-enamel junction. Indirect composite inlays were fabricated and thespecimens were randomly assigned into 6 groups. In Groups 1 to 4, inlays were cemented with Panavia F2.0 cement. G1: according to the manufacturer’s instruction. G2: with light cured resin on the ED primer. G3: chlorhexidine application before priming. G4: withchlorhexidine application before priming and light cured resin on primer. G5: inlays were cemented with Nexus 2 resin cement. G6: chlorhexidine application after etching. Each group was divided into two subgroups based on the 24-hour and 6-month water storagetime. After preparation for microleakage test, the teeth were sectioned and evaluated at both margins under a 20×stereomicroscope. Dye penetration was scored using 0-3 criteria.The data was analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis and complementary Dunn tests.Results: There was significantly less leakage in G2 and G4 than the Panavia F2.0 control group at gingival margins after 6 months (P<0.05). There was no significant differences in leakage between G1 and G3 at both margins after 24 hours and 6 months storage. After 6months, G6 revealed significantly less leakage than G5 at gingival margins (P=0.033). In general, gingival margins showed more leakage than occlusal margins.Conclusion: Additionally, resin coating in self-etch (Panavia F2.0) and chlorhexidine application in etch-rinse (Nexus) resin cement reduced microleakage at gingival margins after storage

    Patients and Health Professionals Views on Caring in Diabetes Disease

    Background: Diabetes is a common problem with severe complications. The control of diabetes needs a close and honest relationship between patients and health professionals. The views of these two groups might influence the professional relationship. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the views of diabetic patients versus the views of diabetic care professionals on the content of caring. Patients and Methods: This qualitative study was conducted with the content analysis method. The participants consisted of adults who had suffered from diabetes for a minimum of one year, and health care professionals working in diabetes care centers. Fifteen patients and fifteen health professionals participated in the interviews. Results: The findings present four main themes which are as follows: what caring is and what means to care, the obstacles in providing care, the outcomes of caring, and specialist community-based care as a crucial intervention in diabetes care, the themes were identified and based on the data analysis, It appeared that patients were more outcome centered, while health professionals were more process- centered in the context of caring.     Polymers near Metal Surfaces: Selective Adsorption and Global Conformations

    We study the properties of a polycarbonate melt near a nickel surface as a model system for the interaction of polymers with metal surfaces by employing a multiscale modeling approach. For bulk properties a suitably coarse grained bead spring model is simulated by molecular dynamics (MD) methods with model parameters directly derived from quantum chemical calculations. The surface interactions are parameterized and incorporated by extensive quantum mechanical density functional calculations using the Car-Parrinello method.     We study the bound of the noncommutativity parameter in the noncommutative Schwarzschild black hole which is a solution of the noncommutative ISO(3,1) Poincare gauge group. The statistical entropy satisfying the area law in the brick wall method yields a cutoff relation which depends on the noncommutativity parameter. Requiring both the cutoff parameter and the noncommutativity parameter to be real, the noncommutativity parameter can be shown to be bounded as Θ>8.4 times10−2lp\Theta > 8.4\ times 10^{-2}l_{p}.Comment: LaTeX 7 pages, references added, minor correction
