Informational - Entropic Analysis of Dynamics of Road Safety Orderliness

The article considers issues of identification of all-Russian and regional (on the example of Kemerovo region) road safety provision (RSP) systems orderliness. Research presents methods of identification of road safety provision system orderliness. The main idea of this methodic is the calculation of relative entropy of formation process of final result of cause-effect chain «Population - The number of vehicles - The number of road accidents - The number of victims - The number of deaths in road accidents» performance. Statistics of road accident rate during 2004...2018 was analyzed for the calculation of relative entropy. The result of research concludes that the level or road safety provision system increases in Russia generally and Kemerovo region specifically. Meanwhile the development of this process in Kemerovo region lags relatively to all-Russian one. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd

Comparative research of orderliness dinamics of road safety systems in the volga federal district and the Russian Federation

This article considers the issues of dynamics of road safety provision systems in three multiscaled systems (Russia, Volga Federal District or VFD and separate subjects of VFD). The indicator of relative information entropy Hn of road safety provision process was taken as the characteristic of system orderliness. The ideology, methodics and results of quantitative assessment of road safety provision systems information entropy H were considered. Time series of modification of relative information entropy Hn of road safety provision systems in 2004...2018 in Russia, Volga Federal District and individual subjects of VFD were presented. Special attention was paid to consideration of the researched process in the Orenburg region and Samara region. This regions is characterized by non-standard, different from general trend dynamics of information entropy H of road safety provision system. The general conclusion of the article is that during last 15 years information entropy of road safety provision systems significantly decreased, i.e. orderliness of formation process of road traffic participants safety greatly increased. However, results achieved in this sphere by VFD regions are still far from best world results. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd

Solutions to the main transportation problems in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation

    No full text
As a result of active land development in the Arctic zone, the transport and logistics complex is building up, which serves as the basis for the development of transport infrastructure: railways, waterways, and roads. By applying the experience in developing other areas of the Russian Federation and some territories abroad, it is safe to say that these changes will lead to transportation problems, which will be primarily associated with active road construction and an increase in the number of vehicles. To minimize transportation problems that may arise soon in the Arctic zone, this study identifies the main ways to solve them. © 2021 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

Comparative analysis of the entropic organization of road transport systems in the representative regions of the Arctic zone of Russia

The mineral resources of the Arctic region are difficult to access. The list of dangers, challenges, and threats that form risks for the development of the Russian Arctic Zone occupies 18 points in Section II of the Strategy for Developing the Russian Arctic Zone and Ensuring National Security until 2035. Among them, poor transport infrastructure development and the high cost of its construction represent the most fundamentally important problem. This is a challenge that has to be met, despite all the difficulties and huge costs. This paper presents a comparative assessment of the processes of improving road infrastructure in two representative regions of the Russian Arctic Zone - Murmansk Region and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area - developing over time (2012-2019). The improvement of regional road infrastructure is assessed in terms of system organization using such an indicator as relative system entropy Hn. We also analyzed the dynamics of changes in the organization of regional traffic safety (TS) systems over time (2012-2019) and evaluated the impact of the organization in road construction on the TS system organization in the compared regions. © 2021 Elsevier B.V. Determination of performance criteria for organizing the operation of terminal and warehouse complexes

Road cargo transportation is a complex system that depends on thousands of factors and hundreds of different indicators. In permafrost regions, the timely delivery of cargo, goods, food, etc. can significantly improve the quality of life and possibly save lives. However, the delivery time depends not only on the performance of a driver and vehicle or weather conditions but also on the proper operation of terminal and warehouse complexes. This study is concerned with the analysis of their most important performance indicators. With proper analysis of these criteria, it becomes possible to determine potential increases in the production load in specific areas of complex's operation in advance. © 2021 Elsevier B.V.
