Softening of Cu-O bond stretching phonon in tetragonal HgBaCuO
Phonons in nearly optimally doped HgBaCuO were studied by
inelastic X-ray scattering. The dispersion of the low energy modes is well
described by a shell model, while the Cu-O bond stretching mode at high energy
shows strong softening towards the zone boundary, which deviates strongly from
the model. This seems to be common in the hole-doped high-
superconducting cuprates, and, based on this work, not related to a lattice
distortion specific to each material.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. Rev. Let
ANALISIS PREFERENSI KONSUMEN DALAM MEMBELI DAGING BROILER DI PASAR TRADISIONAL KOTA MANADO (STUDI KASUS “PASAR PINASUNGKULAN KAROMBASAN”)
ABSTRACT ANALYSIS OF CONSUMER BUYING PREFERENCES IN BROILER MEAT AT TRADITIONAL MARKET IN MANADO CITY (CASE STUDY OF THE "PINASUNGKULAN KAROMBASAN MARKET"). The goals of this study was to analyze consumer preference and attitude on attribute variation of broilers at the traditional market in Manado. Study was conducted at the Pinasungkulan market, Karombasan Manado on February 2019. Survey method was used by deep interview supported by questionnaire. Samples were defined by accidental sampling method involving fifty respondents. The primer and secondary data were used in this study and analyzed by Chi-Square and Multi attribute Fishbein analysis. The Chi-Square analysis indicated that all attributes studied were significantly different. This was meaning that there were differences of consumers preference on broilers. On the basis of Multi attribute Fishbein analysis indicated that all broiler attribute were considered by consumers in making decision of buying broilers. Broilers were became consumer preference significantly at the Pinasungkulan Market, meaning that there was difference of consumer preference on broiler attributes. Sequences of broiler attribute from the highest consideration to the lowest consideration were meat color, skin color, meat smell, skin tenderness and meat weight. Consumer attitude on broiler meat attributed in decision of buying meat of broilers was broiler meat color. Keywords: Broiler, consumer preferenc
Electronic Structure of Cu_(1-x)Ni_xRh_2S_4 and CuRh_2Se_4: Band Structure Calculations, X-ray Photoemission and Fluorescence Measurements
The electronic structure of spinel-type Cu_(1-x)Ni_xRh_2S_4 (x = 0.0, 0.1,
0.3, 0.5, 1.0) and CuRh_2Se_4 compounds has been studied by means of X-ray
photoelectron and fluorescent spectroscopy. Cu L_3, Ni L_3, S L_(2,3) and Se
M_(2,3) X-ray emission spectra (XES) were measured near thresholds at Beamline
8.0 of the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory's Advanced Light Source. XES
measurements of the constituent atoms of these compounds, reduced to the same
binding energy scale, are found to be in excellent agreement with XPS valence
bands. The calculated XES spectra which include dipole matrix elements show
that the partial density of states reproduce experimental spectra quite well.
States near the Fermi level (E_F) have strong Rh d and S(Se) p character in all
compounds. In NiRh_2S_4 the Ni 3d states contribute strongly at E_F, whereas in
both Cu compounds the Cu 3d bands are only ~1 eV wide and centered ~2.5 eV
below E_F, leaving very little 3d character at E_F. The density of states at
the Fermi level is less in NiRh_2S_4 than in CuRh_2S_4. This difference may
contribute to the observed decrease, as a function of Ni concentration, in the
superconducting transition temperature in Cu_(1-x)Ni_xRh_2S_4. The density of
states of the ordered alloy Cu_(1/2)Ni_(1/2)Rh_2S_4 shows behavior that is more
``split-band''-like than ``rigid band''-like.Comment: 7 pages of text, 11 trailing figures, updated to fix faulty

Universality of the helimagnetic transition in cubic chiral magnets: Small angle neutron scattering and neutron spin echo spectroscopy studies of FeCoSi
We present a comprehensive Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS) and Neutron
Spin Echo Spectroscopy (NSE) study of the structural and dynamical aspects of
the helimagnetic transition in FeCoSi with = 0.30. In contrast
to the sharp transition observed in the archetype chiral magnet MnSi, the
transition in FeCoSi is gradual and long-range helimagnetic
ordering coexists with short-range correlations over a wide temperature range.
The dynamics are more complex than in MnSi and involve long relaxation times
with a stretched exponential relaxation which persists even under magnetic
field. These results in conjunction with an analysis of the hierarchy of the
relevant length scales show that the helimagnetic transition in
FeCoSi differs substantially from the transition in MnSi and
question the validity of a universal approach to the helimagnetic transition in
chiral magnets
Intercalation and Staging Behavior in Super-Oxygenated
A high temperature electrochemical oxidation process has been used to produce
large single crystals of suitable for neutron scattering
experiments. Below room temperature the oxygen-rich phases have structural
superlattice scattering peaks which indicate new periodicities ranging from 2
to 6.6 layers perpendicular to the copper oxide planes. A model structure
originally proposed for can account for the superlattice
peaks as a result of anti-phase domain boundaries between different tilt
directions of the CuO octahedra. Within this model, the changes in CuO
tilt directions are induced by segregated layers of interstitial oxygen which
order in a manner similar to intercalants in graphite. This structural model
thus clarifies previous work and establishes as a unique
lamellar superconducting system with annealed disorder.Comment: 23 pages, latex, 6 figures (not including Figures 2 & 7 and Table 1

Instantaneous Spin Correlations in La2CuO4
We have carried out a neutron scattering study of the instantaneous spin-spin
correlations in La2CuO4 (T_N = 325 K) over the temperature range 337 K to 824
K. Incident neutron energies varying from 14.7 meV to 115 meV have been
employed in order to guarantee that the energy integration is carried out
properly. The results so-obtained for the spin correlation length as a function
of temperature when expressed in reduced units agree quantitatively both with
previous results for the two dimensional (2D) tetragonal material Sr2CuO2Cl2
and with quantum Monte Carlo results for the nearest neighbor square lattice
S=1/2 Heisenberg model. All of the experimental and numerical results for the
correlation length are well described without any adjustable parameters by the
behavior predicted for the quantum non-linear sigma model in the low
temperature renormalized classical regime. The amplitude, on the other hand,
deviates subtly from the predicted low temperature behavior. These results are
discussed in the context of recent theory for the 2D quantum Heisenberg model.Comment: 9 pages, LaTeX, includes 8 figure
