<p>The tip of a 26-gauge flexible wire thermoprobe (MT-26, Phisitemp, New Jersey USA) was inserted through trocar and placed in the midvitreous cavity. The thermoprobe was connected to a battery-operated thermometer device (Phisitemp BAT-12, New Jersey USA).</p
