Partial least squares (PLS) regression and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) are the regression analysis techniques used to overcome the problems that can not be solved by ordinary least squares (OLS). The purpose of this research is to model and compare the performance of both PLS regression and LASSO to the diabetes mellitus study data which is divided into 30 groups of data redundancy as an example of microarray data. The survival time of diabetes mellitus patients as dependent variable while age, sex, body mass index, blood pressure, and six blood serum measurements as independent variables. By using paired sample t-test of adj R2 value, the result of this research concluded that the mean of adj R2 value of PLS regression is smaller than the mean of adj R2 value of LASSO. In other words, the performance of LASSO is better than PLS regression

The objective of investment in the capital market is to acquire dividends and capital gain. The fact proves that the advantage of investation risky assets is uncertain . This is because of the difficulty in analyzing and predicting Return and stock losses due to factors that affect the movement of the stock price , such as economic factors , political , social , and security. The model can be used by investors in predicting stock returns expected that Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedaticity (GARCH). In this study calculations beta value of some leading stocks in Indonesia by using Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedaticity (GARCH) are presented . The data used this search is secondary data covering daily data sampled 5 shares of PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk , PT Indosat Tbk , PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk , PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk , PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk. From the results described fifth beta value of these shares using the method GARCH beta greater than the market in the period from 23 September 2013 until 24 September 2014

This research aimed to study the effect of brand image, users’ expectation, and users’ satisfaction as the determinants for users’ loyalties of Samsung Smartphone by applying Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. Data gathered from 100 Samsung smartphone users at Denpasar, Indonesia were collected using questionnaires with 5 Likert’s scales during February–May 2015. The results showed users’ loyalties was significantly affected by image of Samsung and users’ expectation. The path coefficients for these causal relationships were 0.533 and -0.230 respectively, demonstrated images’ effect very dominant in forming users’ loyalties. In addition, products’ image significantly affect users’ satisfaction, but user’s satisfaction did not significantly affect users’ loyalties. The final model had Goodness-of-Fit (GoF) index as much as 0.495 shows the model was sufficient to use for elaborating the relationship between contracts

Tourism is a leading sector in developing process of many countries. For Bali, tourism contributes more than 30 percent on the formation of Bali’s Regional Domestic Product. To assure tourism at this island will run in sustainable manner, three aspects have to be considered. This research is aimed to classify the positive as well as the negative effects of socio-cultural dimension arose from tourists activities at coastal area of Badung regency of Bali. A hundred of local community leaders at North Kuta district were selected and their perception regarding effect of tourism on socio-cultural aspect were collected on June – September 2017 and analysed by using factor analysis. Three groups were identified as the positive effects i.e. (a) women empowerment as the economic agents for the family; (b) the increasing of Balinese values; and (c) the raising of community capacity building in developing culture-creative products. Viewed from the burden of cost, we found the potency of increasing the social as well as family conflicts because of different perspectives in viewing tourism

This essay aimed to apply the Multivariate Multiple Regression (MMR) methodfor the welfare issue. The predictor variables in the model are 18 indicators of welfare according to Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistic (BPS) and the response variables are Human Development Index (IPM), Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB), and Regional Crime Index (IKD). In modeling the relationship between q responses and a single set of predictor variables , MMR assumed each pairs of two response variables were correlated and its distribution follows normal multivariate. Based on the result of MMR, we obtained six out of 18 predictor variables simultaneously affect IPM and PDRB. The final model showed the association between those variables very closed to 100 percent.</p

Satisfaction level on inpatient service is determined by several factors such as the perceived quality about nursing and/or medical services. This study is directed to determine those factors that affect the satisfaction level of the patient families regarding the quality of inpatient service in one public hospital at Denpasar City of Bali. The data from 150 families who utilised inpatient services were collected by using a self-administered questionnaire and were analysed by applying factor analysis to extract the influential factors. In addition, the causal relationship among factors were studied by utilising partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Factor analysis confirmed there are five influential factors in determining quality of services, i.e. attention, tangible aspects, assurance, reliability, and responsiveness. By positioning these factors as the exogenous and quality of inpatient services as the endogenous one, we found all factors had determination power as much as 36.6 percent. Furthermore, the satisfaction level regarding the quality of inpatient service had been significantly affected as much as 0.917 with the coefficient of determination’s value is 84.0 percent
