The Genus Sphyrocoris Mayr (Heteroptera: Scutelleridae: Pachycorinae)
The genus Sphyrocoris is reviewed and found to contain a single species, S. obliquus (Germar, 1839). The following taxa are new junior synonyms of S. obliquus: Homaemus punctellus Stål, 1862; Sphyrocoris elongatus Distant, 1880; Sphyrocoris punctellus nigricans Kirkaldy, 1909; Sphyrocoris punctellus pallidomaculata Kirkaldy, 1909; and Sphyrocoris punctellus sanguineoconspersa Kirkaldy, 1909. Lectotypes are designated for H. punctellus, S. punctellus nigricans, S. punctellus pallidomaculata, and S. punctellus sanguineoconspersa

Exploring the potential X-ray counterpart of the puzzling TeV gamma-ray source HESS J1507-622 with new Suzaku observations
The unidentified VHE (E>100 GeV) gamma-ray source HESS J1507-622 seems to not
fit into standard models for sources related to young supernova remnants,
pulsar wind nebulae, or young stellar populations in general. This is due to
its intrinsically extended, but yet compact morphology, coupled with a relative
large offset (~3.5 deg) from the Galactic plane. Therefore, it has been
suggested that this object may be the first representative of a new distinct
class of extended off-plane gamma-ray sources. The distance to HESS J1507-622
is the key parameter to constrain the source's most important properties, such
as age and energetics of the relativistic particle population.
In this article we report on results of follow-up observations of the
potential X-ray counterpart with Suzaku. We present detailed measurements of
its spectral parameters and find a high absorbing hydrogen column density,
compatible with the total amount of Galactic gas in this direction. In
comparisons to measurements and models of the Galactic three-dimensional gas
distribution we show that the potential X-ray counterpart of HESS J1507-622 may
be located at the far end of the Galaxy. If the gamma-ray source is indeed
physically connected to this extended X-ray source, this in turn would place
the object outside of the usual distribution of Galactic VHE gamma-ray
emitters.Comment: 12 pages, 7 figures, accepted for publication by MNRA

Towards a change process planning tool
The relationship between a product and its design process is generally complex and not fully understood. When modifying a product, industry still rarely considers the implementation process and its consequences for other design activities in the company, which is hard to assess with conventional planning methods. Although change processes are highly constrained, product and process constraints are not usually considered together or traded off against each other when planning the change. Inadequate assessment and planning of the change implementation process can lead to costly knock-on effects across the product and the design process. This paper argues for a combination of change and process research and discusses requirements for a change process planning tool. It proposes a system for the analysis of the impact of change on the product as well as other company activities. Then, a more informed selection between change alternatives is possible
Exploring Multiculturalism as a Dynamic Factor for Spurring the New Economy, Particularly Present Within Port Cities
Cities are widely recognized as the preferred places for cultural production and interactions, with their ability to agglomerate high-skilled workers and talented people, and to host services and knowledge infrastructures connected through formal and informal networks. They stand at the intersection points of both physical connections, including passenger travels and trade of goods and non-physical relations. The paper starts from the acknowledgment that innovation comes out as a consequence of these networks, triggering the economic growth and making cities attractive and competitive. It will then investigate the role of the human capital, as the current best productive asset, that acquires a new value in virtue of the social capital. The aim is to demonstrate that multiculturalism is an innovative, dynamic factor for development necessary for cities to thrive, that is particularly present within port cities. These nodes of transportation and relational networks, in fact, are embedded into several activities that go far beyond their boundaries and emerge as places of conflicts, but also of innovation and progress. In order to support the discussion, this contribution will explore the Innovation District of Boston as a significant case study, since, with its strong multiculturalism within a port environment that is deeply changing, the area is favoring the new economy of innovation. The results of the study will highlight the challenging character of stressing multiculturalism in a general climate of mistrust, intolerance and fear and will recognize the fact that in the era of the human capital there is an important element linked to connections, both physical (transportation links) and relational (social capital), that have the ability to transform the look of cities, opening up new opportunities to grow and use the human capital in unexpected ways. A set of possible future scenarios of policies will be proposed as well, considering the diversity added value and the prioritization of physical and relational connections
An Analysis of the Taxation of Stock Dividends from 1918 to 1970; Effects of the Tax Reform Act of 1969 on § 305 of the Internal Revenue Code
On December 10, 1969, the most massive and controversial piece of tax legislation ever proposed was enacted by Congress. One small portion of this act, § 421, has substantially altered the tax status of stock dividends by amending § 305 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954. As a result, § 305 now covers a wide variety of situations where the receipt of stock dividends previously nontaxable will give rise to income taxable at ordinary rates
A functional analysis of change propagation
A thorough understanding of change propagation is fundamental to effective change management during product redesign. A new model of change propagation, as a result of the interaction of form and function is presented and used to develop an analysis method that determines how change is likely to propagate. The analysis produces a Design Structure Matrix, which clearly illustrates change propagation paths and highlights connections that could otherwise be ignored. This provides the user with an in-depth knowledge of product connectivity, which has the potential to support the design process and reduce the product's susceptibility to future change
The Abused Child: Problems and Proposals
In 1962 a team of physicians led by Dr. C. Henry Kempe identified problem they called the battered child syndrome. The Kempe study defined the problem as a clinical condition in young children who have received serious physical abuse from a parent or foster parent. Graham Parker, a student of the syndrome, defined the battered child as one who has suffered serious physical injury in circumstances which indicate it was caused wilfully [sic] rather than by accident. Later students have distinguished the battered or abused child from the neglected child and have begun to inquire into the psychological condition of the abusing adult as well as the psychological impact of abuse on the child
