An Abstraction of Research Findings for Policy Formulation and Decision Making in Government Establishments in Rivers State, Nigeria
The study was poised on the ideological abstraction of research findings for policy formulation and decision making in government establishments in Rivers State. The abstrac was culled from a Ph.D. thesis of the Department of. Science Education, University of Nigeria Nsukka. This current research study adopted the descriptive summary research design. The population for the study consists of 240 respondents drawn from government establishments and universities in Rivers State. One research question as well as an hypothesis were formulated to guide the study. A four (4) points Likert type of scale ranging from Strongly Agree (SA - 4 points), Agree (A - 3 points), Disagree (D -2 points) to Strongly Disagree (SD- 1 point) were used for the items on the questionnaire. A mean of 2.5 was determined as the cut-off point for the items. t-test statistic was used to test the only formulated hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. It was discovered that research findings as well as recommendations were not used for policy formulation and decision making in public establishments as well as universities. The implications for -the study were noted. Key words: Abstraction, research, Policy formulation research findings, Business Education Programme
Frequency Reconfigurable Microstrip Patch Antenna for Multiband Applications with Shunt-Series MEMS Switch
The wireless communication system is well developed and lots of antennas are designed and fabricated for this application. Still, the evolution of the communication system, the performance of the antenna is required to enhance to adopt the present era. The design of the antenna is most important for the performance of the antenna. Therefore, this work is designed and developed a novel antenna design for wideband application by utilizing frequency reconfigurable technique. The proposed work utilized microstrip patch antenna for the application of wideband and the Shun-series MEMS switch is applied for switching the frequency. The proposed antenna is designed with two switches and investigated with the switching conditions like ON-ON, OFF-ON, and OFF-OFF. The performance of the proposed antenna is validated by utilizing the antenna performance metrices such as Return loss, bandwidth, gain, VSWR, and radiation pattern for each switching condition. The simulation results are shows that the proposed antenna design with shunt-series MEMS switch is effectively performed and it is most suitable for the application of wireless communication system.

An Analysis of Utilization of Educational Research Findings for Qualitative Decision Making for Undergraduate Business Education Degree Programme in Nigerian Universities
The study was poised to investigate into the utilization of research findings for qualitative decision making for business education undergraduate programmers. The study consists of 62 respondents drawn from 3 tertiary institutions that offer business education programmes in rivers state. One research question as well as one hypothesis was generated to guide the study. a 4 point Likert scale ranging from categories of strongly Agree (SA – 4 points), Agree (A – 3 points), Disagree (D – 2 Points) and strongly Disagree (SD – 1 point) were used for the items on the questionnaire. Simple percentage was used for the item analysis. A mean score of 2.5 was determined as the cut-off point for the items. The t-test statistic was used to test the only generated hypothesis at 0.05 alpha level. It was discovered that research findings as well as the recommendations were not used for qualitative decision making for business education undergraduate programmes in tertiary institutions in Rivers State. The implications of the study were highlighted. Key Words: Research Findings, Educational Research, Body of Knowledge, Decision Making
Advances in ultrafast time resolved fluorescence physics for cancer detection in optical biopsy
We discuss the use of time resolved fluorescence spectroscopy to extract fundamental kinetic information on molecular species in tissues. The temporal profiles reveal the lifetime and amplitudes associated with key active molecules distinguishing the local spectral environment of tissues. The femtosecond laser pulses at 310 nm excite the tissue. The emission profile at 340 nm from tryptophan is non-exponential due to the micro-environment. The slow and fast amplitudes and lifetimes of emission profiles reveal that cancer and normal states can be distinguished. Time resolved optical methods offer a new cancer diagnostic modality for the medical community
