The calculation of building structures begins with the determination of loads and effects. The correctness of determining the values of loads and impacts, and in particular their calculated values, largely determines the reliability of structural forms, their durability and economic efficiency. The paper considers the regulatory documents for determining snow, wind and crane loads, as well as loads due to their own weight of load-bearing and enclosing structures. In most cases, changing the values of snow loads in the direction of their increase is labor- and material-intensive, since after this, it is required to examine all the supporting structures that perceive snow loads, recalculation them, and quite often, strengthen them. It is proposed to review snow loads no more than once every 20–25 years. Wind speed increases with height increases. This is confirmed by statistical data obtained at many weather stations located in the Republic of Belarus and foreign countries. Failure to take into account the change in wind pressure along the height leads to significant increase in the efforts from the wind load by 2-3 times. The increase in the efforts from the wind load, as well as from the snow load, entails the need for a mass survey of buildings and structures and, as a rule, expensive work to strengthen the supporting structures. Determination of loads from overhead cranes in the current regulatory documents is completely focused on the characteristics of European hoisting mechanisms, which largely does not correspond to the characteristics of cranes used in the Republic of Belarus. It is proposed to determine crane loads according to SP [Sanitary Regulations] CYbG20.133330.2011 “Loads and impacts” (updated edition of SNiP [Construction Standards and Regulations] 2.01.07–85*). When determining the design loads from the own mass of structural forms, the reliability factor for loads is used. The values of these coefficients in the current regulatory documents are unreasonably high, especially for metal structures.
When making welded joints, it is not always possible to press tightly elements to be joined before surfacing the weld. In normative documents on welded joints, the allowable gap between the elements to be connected can reach 3 mm when welding with a covered electrode and 2 mm when welding in shielded gases. At the same time the presence of a gap is not taken into account in the standards for calculation of welded joints. Experimental studies have been carried out to determine effect of the gap on the bearing capacity of the weld. Specimens have been made with welded joints of two types: for work in shear and pull-out. For the purpose of comparison, half of the specimens have been made without gaps, and the other half with gaps between the elements to be joined. The specimens have been made at the Minsk plant of technological metal structures, and their tests have been carried out in a research laboratory of the Belarusian National Technical University. Based on the results of the experiments, it has been concluded that the gaps between the elements to be joined significantly reduce the bearing capacity of the welded joints. In addition, inspection of fracture surfaces have shown that, in the presence of a gap, the cut surfaces of the weld pass along the fusion boundary of the base and deposited metals. It has been experimenttally established that the existing gap leads to a slight increase in the penetration depth. However, the latter factor does not compensate for the decrease in the bearing capacity of the welded joint due to the presence of a gap between the elements to be joined.
Research of acethyl salicylic acid adsorption on various adsorbents used for disintoxication therapy
The article describes the methods of detoxification therapy of acetylsalicylic acid poisoning by adsorption to Polysorb, polyphepan, and activated carbon preparations. It has been shown that detoxification during aspirin poisoning is most actively carried out using activated carbon. When using activated carbon, aspirin adsorption is 2.5-3 times higher than on other adsorbents; normalization of the hydrogen index is 1.5-2 times more effective.

On the vibron dressing in the --helicoidal macromolecular chains
We present a study of the physical properties of the vibrational excitation
in --helicoidal macromolecular chains, caused by the interaction with
acoustical and optical phonon modes. The influence of the temperature and the
basic system parameters on the vibron dressing has been analyzed by employing
the simple mean--field approach based on the variational extension of the
Lang--Firsov unitary transformation. Applied approach predicts a region in
system parameter space where one takes place an abrupt transition from
partially dressed (light and mobile) to fully dressed (immobile) vibron states.
We found that the boundary of this region depends on system temperature and
type of bond among structural elements in the macromolecular chain.Comment: 22 pages, 12 figures, title changed, the interaction with optical

Hall-like effect induced by spin-orbit interaction
The effect of spin-orbit interaction on electron transport properties of a
cross-junction structure is studied. It is shown that it results in spin
polarization of left and right outgoing electron waves. Consequently, incoming
electron wave of a proper polarization induces voltage drop perpendicularly to
the direct current flow between source and drain of the considered
four-terminal cross-structure. The resulting Hall-like resistance is estimated
to be of the order of 10^-3 - 10^-2 h/e^2 for technologically available
structures. The effect becomes more pronounced in the vicinity of resonances
where Hall-like resistance changes its sign as function of the Fermi energy.Comment: 4 pages (RevTeX), 4 figures, will appear in Phys. Rev. Let
