The paper describes the first experience with the fibrin sealant Tissucol at Moscow City Cancer Hospital Sixty-Two. The authors used this agent in different clinical situations. However, Tissucol showed the highest efficacy in arresting long-term severe lymphorrhea. The described clinical case clearly demonstrates the abilities of this agent and allows it to be recommended for use in other areas of oncology

Osteomyelitis of the lower jaw is one of the urgent problems of modern medicine. There are many reasons for the evolvement of purulent necrotic processes of the jaw bones, including the role of disorders in the systems of innate and adaptive immunity. The aim of the study was to determine the content of TNFα, IL-17, IL-4 in serum and mixed saliva in patients with uncomplicated mandibular fractures and posttraumatic osteomyelitis to determine the possibility of using these indicators for early diagnosis of posttraumatic complications. The article presents the results of a study of tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα), interleukin-17 (IL-17) and interleukin-4 (IL-4) cytokines in serum and mixed saliva in patients with uncomplicated mandibular fracture and post-traumatic osteomyelitis at the first and tenth days of observation. By means of single-layer neural networks, binary classifiers were built, allowing patients to be stratified by the clinical form of the disease and to predict its course. The probability of uncomplicated mandibular fracture is described by the ratio P = 1/(1+e-z), where the index z is determined by the level of TNFα, IL-17, and IL-4 at the first and tenth day of observation. The simulation confirmed high prognostic significance of serum TNFα and IL-17 for early verification of posttraumatic osteomyelitis, which was confirmed by the OTC and ROC indices, which varied from 87 to 100% in different models. Models 4 and 5, where TNFα recorded on the tenth day of the study was used as predictors, and a combination of TNFα and IL-17 obtained on the first day of hospitalization, were the most accurate. Modeling the results of the study of immunological indicators in the mixed saliva showed that the predictive properties have only IL-4 and IL-17, was on the tenth day of hospitalization that distinguishes these binary classifiers from similar indexes, derive from the levels of cytokines in blood serum. The results of the study indicate the important role of disorders in the system of рro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines in pathogenesis of post-traumatic osteomyelitis

The effect of a composite mixture of rice, corn and pumpkin flour on organoleptic and physical and chemical parameters of gluten-free cupcakes has been studied. The optimal ratio of the ingredients has been selected and the technology for preparing the developed gluten-free cakes from the following composite mixtures has been worked out: corn / rice is 1:1; corn / pumpkin is 1:1; flaxseed / rice is 1:2, 3. Physical and chemical studies have shown that the moisture content in three experimental samples of gluten-free cakes is 13.5 % in sample No. 3, 14.1 % in sample No. 6; 16.5 % in sample No. 9.The sugar content in the studied objects is 24.7 % in sample No. 3, 25.0 % in sample No. 6, 24.1 % in sample No. 9. The ash content in the samples is 0.02 % in No. 3, 0.02 % in No. 6, 0.05 % in No. 9, respectively. The fat content of the test samples is 27.5 % in No. 3, 27.3 % in No.6, 21.8 % in No. 9, respectively, which exceeds the permissible norm (22.0 %) for samples No. 6 and No. 9, this is due to the fact that the nutritional value of fat in pumpkin and flaxseed flour is higher relative to wheat flour. The alkalinity content in the experimental samples is 1.3 degrees in No. 3, 1.3 degrees in No. 6, 1.7 degrees in No. 9, respectively. The developed products have high nutritional and energy values and considered to be high-caloric, and they are enriched with macro- and microelements

Viscosimetric studies of water and water-salt solution of polyethylene glycol

The complex analysis of a state of PEG macromolecules of various molecular weights in water and water-salt solutions is carried out. Temperature factors, the constants characterizing intermolecular interaction in these systems are defined. The intrinsic viscosity is defined with the use of the various linear extrapolation equations. Influence of temperature and electrolytes on thermodynamic properties in PEG – water and PEG – water-salt solution systems is shown

Influence of the composition of composite mixtures with a reduced gluten content on the rheological properties of the dough based on their basis

The article presents experimental data on the assessment of the rheological properties of dough from new types of flour, formed on the basis of cumulative curves using the Mixolab device. The data of mixolabograms and radial diagrams (Mixolab profiler) made it possible to reveal the existing differences in the parameters of the rheological profile and Mixolab indices. The object of the study is composite mixtures of gluten-free flours: No. 1 is 50% of pumpkin and 50% of corn flour, No. 2 is 50% of linseed and 50% of corn flour, No. 3 – 50% of rice and 50% of corn flour, No. 4 – 75% of linseed and 25% of corn flour, No. 5 is 30% of linseed and 70% of rice flour. The use of composite mixtures is promising due to high oven rise and low starch thickening because of its high water absorption capacity (WAC). In addition, there is certain economic efficiency, since it is possible to produce more dough at a lower cost

Application of paraffin emulsion as apolar co-reagent during sylvinite flotation process

The research is devoted to finding more affordable apolar reagent paraffinic base for their use in the process of potash ore flotation, as well as improve the form in which the reagent is introduced into the flotation process. Found that the introduction of paraffinic oil flotation system in the form of emulsions provides extraction of potassium chloride at a level comparable to the same period of the industrial process

Elimination of nonuniformities in thick GaN films using metalorganic chemical vapour deposited GaN templates

    No full text
Thick hydride vapor phase epitaxial GaN layers are grown on metalorganic chemical vapor deposited GaN template layers as well as directly on sapphire, with the aim of investigating the effect of the template on the strain relaxation and spatial distribution of free carriers in the overgrown GaN films. Spatially resolved cross-sectional micro-Raman spectroscopy, cathodoluminescence, and transmission electron microscopy show improved crystalline quality for growth on metalorganic chemical vapor deposited GaN templates. The highly doped and highly defective near-substrate layer composed of columnar domains, typically present in hydride vapor phase epitaxial GaN films grown directly on sapphire, is absent in the layers grown on templates. Consequently, this results in elimination of the nonuniformities of free electron distribution, a lower residual free carrier concentration (<10¹⁷ cm⁻³), and improved strain relaxation.
