Numerical precision radiative corrections to the Dalitz plot of baryon semileptonic decays including the spin-momentum correlation of the decaying and emitted baryons
We calculate the radiative corrections to the angular correlation between the
polarization of the decaying and the direction of the emitted spin one-half
baryons in the semileptonic decay mode. The final results are presented, first,
with the triple integration of the bremsstrahlung photon ready to be performed
numerically and, second, in an analytical form. A third presentation of our
results in the form of numerical arrays of coefficients to be multiplied by the
quadratic products of form factors is discussed. This latter may be the most
practical one to use in Monte Carlo simulations. A series of crosschecks is
performed. Previous results to order (alpha/pi)(q/M_1) for the decays of
unpolarized baryons are reviewed, too, where q is the momentum transfer and M_1
is the mass of the decaying baryon. This paper is self-contained and organized
to make it accessible and reliable in the analysis of the Dalitz plot of
precision experiments involving heavy quarks and is not compromised to fixing
the form factors at predetermined values. It is assumed that the real photons
are kinematically discriminated. Otherwise, our results have a general

Layered XY-Models, Anyon Superconductors, and Spin-Liquids
The partition function of the double-layer model in the (dual) Villain
form is computed exactly in the limit of weak coupling between layers. Both
layers are found to be locked together through the
Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless transition, while they become decoupled well
inside the normal phase. These results are recovered in the general case of a
finite number of such layers. When re-interpreted in terms of the dual problems
of lattice anyon superconductivity and of spin-liquids, they also indicate that
the essential nature of the transition into the normal state found in two

Dynamic Exponent of t-J and t-J-W Model
Drude weight of optical conductivity is calculated at zero temperature by
exact diagonalization for the two-dimensional t-J model with the two-particle
term, . For the ordinary t-J model with =0, the scaling of the Drude
weight for small doping concentration is
obtained, which indicates anomalous dynamic exponent =4 of the Mott
transition. When is switched on, the dynamic exponent recovers its
conventional value =2. This corresponds to an incoherent-to-coherent

Updating DL-Lite ontologies through first-order queries
In this paper we study instance-level update in DL-LiteA, the description logic underlying the OWL 2 QL standard. In particular we focus on formula-based approaches to ABox insertion and deletion. We show that DL-LiteA, which is well-known for enjoying first-order rewritability of query answering, enjoys a first-order rewritability property also for updates. That is, every update can be reformulated into a set of insertion and deletion instructions computable through a nonrecursive datalog program. Such a program is readily translatable into a first-order query over the ABox considered as a database, and hence into SQL. By exploiting this result, we implement an update component for DLLiteA-based systems and perform some experiments showing that the approach works in practice.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
Bupropion for the treatment of fluoxetine non-responsive trichotillomania: a case report
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Introduction</p> <p>Trichotillomania, classified as an impulse control disorder in the <it>Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders</it>, is characterized by the recurrent pulling out of one's hair, resulting in noticeable hair loss. The condition has a varied etiology. Specific serotonin reuptake inhibitors are considered the treatment of choice; however some patients fail to respond to this class of drugs. A few older reports suggest possible benefit from treatment with bupropion.</p> <p>Case presentation</p> <p>A 23-year-old Asian woman with fluoxetine non- responsive trichotillomania was treated with sustained release bupropion (up to 450 mg/day) and cognitive behavior therapy. She demonstrated clinically significant improvement on the Clinical Global Impression - Improvement scale by week 13. The improvement persisted throughout the 12-month follow-up period.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>The present case report may be of interest to psychiatrists and dermatologists. Apart from the serotonergic pathway, others, such as the mesolimbic pathway, also appear to be involved in the causation of trichotillomania. Bupropion may be considered as an alternative pharmacological treatment for patients who do not respond to specific serotonin reuptake inhibitors. However, this initial finding needs to be confirmed by well designed double-blind placebo controlled trials.</p
A microscopic model for d-wave charge carrier pairing and non-Fermi-liquid behavior in a purely repulsive 2D electron system
We investigate a microscopic model for strongly correlated electrons with
both on-site and nearest neighbor Coulomb repulsion on a 2D square lattice.
This exhibits a state in which electrons undergo a ``somersault'' in their
internal spin-space (spin-flux) as they traverse a closed loop in external
coordinate space. When this spin-1/2 antiferromagnetic (AFM) insulator is
doped, the ground state is a liquid of charged, bosonic meron-vortices, which
for topological reasons are created in vortex-antivortex pairs. The magnetic
exchange energy of the distorted AFM background leads to a logarithmic
vortex-antivortex attraction which overcomes the direct Coulomb repulsion
between holes localized on the vortex cores. This leads to the appearance of
pre-formed charged pairs. We use the Configuration Interaction (CI) Method to
study the quantum translational and rotational motion of various charged
magnetic solitons and soliton pairs. The CI method systematically describes
fluctuation and quantum tunneling corrections to the Hartree-Fock Approximation
(HFA). We find that the lowest energy charged meron-antimeron pairs exhibit
d-wave rotational symmetry, consistent with the symmetry of the cuprate
superconducting order parameter. For a single hole in the 2D AFM plane, we find
a precursor to spin-charge separation in which a conventional charged
spin-polaron dissociates into a singly charged meron-antimeron pair. This model
provides a unified microscopic basis for (i) non-Fermi-liquid transport
properties, (ii) d-wave preformed charged carrier pairs, (iii) mid-infrared
optical absorption, (iv) destruction of AFM long range order with doping and
other magnetic properties, and (v) certain aspects of angled resolved
photo-emission spectroscopy (ARPES).Comment: 14 pages, 17 figure
Superconductivity of the spin ladder system: Are the superconducting pairing and the spin-gap formation of the same origin?
Pressure-induced superconductivity in a spin-ladder cuprate
SrCaCuO has not been studied on a microscopic level so
far although the superconductivity was already discovered in 1996. We have
improved high-pressure technique with using a large high-quality crystal, and
succeeded in studying the superconductivity using Cu nuclear magnetic
resonance (NMR). We found that anomalous metallic state reflecting the
spin-ladder structure is realized and the superconductivity possesses a
s-wavelike character in the meaning that a finite gap exists in the
quasi-particle excitation: At pressure of 3.5GPa we observed two excitation
modes in the normal state from the relaxation rate . One gives rise
to an activation-type component in , and the other -linear
component linking directly with the superconductivity. This gapless mode likely
arises from free motion of holon-spinon bound states appearing by hole doping,
and the pairing of them likely causes the superconductivity.Comment: to be published in Phys. Rev. Let
