Ferrimagnetic mixed-spin ladders in weak and strong coupling limits
We study two similar spin ladder systems with the ferromagnetic leg coupling.
First model includes two sorts of spins, s= 1/2 and s= 1, and the second model
comprises only s=1/2 legs coupled by a "triangular" rung exchange. The
antiferromagnetic (AF) rung coupling destroys the long-range order and
eventually makes the systems equivalent to the AF s=1/2 Heisenberg chain. We
investigate the situation by different methods in weak and strong rung coupling
limits. Particularly we compare the spin-wave theory and the bosonization
method in the weak coupling regime of the second model. We analyze the spectra
and correlations, and discuss the order parameter of these ladder systems.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figure
RKKY interaction in the nearly-nested Fermi liquid
We present the results of analytical evaluation of the indirect RKKY
interaction in a layered metal with nearly nested (almost squared) Fermi
surface. The final expressions are obtained in closed form as a combination of
Bessel functions. We discuss the notion of the
``2k_F'' oscillations and show that they occur as the far asymptote of our
expressions. We show the existence of the intermediate asymptote of the
interaction which is of the sign-reversal antiferromagnetic type and is the
only term surviving in the limit of exact nesting. A good accordance of our
analytical formulas with numerical findings is demonstrated until the
interatomic distances. The obtained expressions for the Green's functions
extend the previous analytical results into the region of intermediate
distances as well.Comment: 9 pages, REVTEX, 3 .eps figures, to appear in PRB 1 Oct 199
High efficiency and low absorption Fresnel compound zone plates for hard X-ray focusing
Circular and linear zone plates have been fabricated on the surface of
silicon crystals for the energy of 8 keV by electron beam lithography and deep
ion plasma etching methods. Various variants of compound zone plates with
first, second, third diffraction orders have been made. The zone relief height
is about 10 mkm, the outermost zone width of the zone plate is 0.4 mkm. The
experimental testing of the zone plates has been conducted on SPring-8 and ESRF
synchrotron radiation sources. A focused spot size and diffraction efficiency
measured by knife-edge scanning are accordingly 0.5 mkm and 39% for the first
order circular zone plate.Comment: 5 pages, 7 figure

Optical conductivity of one-dimensional doped Hubbard-Mott insulator
We study the optical response of a strongly correlated electron system near
the metal-insulator transition using a mapping to the sine-Gordon model. With
semiclassical quantization, the spectral weight is distributed between a Drude
peak and absorption lines due to breathers. We calculate the Drude weight, the
optical gap, and the lineshape of breather absorption.Comment: 4 pages, 2 EPS figures, REVTEX 4, a final versio
Bosonization for Wigner-Jordan-like Transformation : Backscattering and Umklapp-processes on Fictitious Lattice
We analyze the asymptotic behavior of the exponential form in the fermionic
density operators as the function of ruling parameter Q. In the particular case
Q=\pi this exponential associates with the Wigner-Jordan transformation for XY
spin chain model. We compare the bosonization approach and the evaluation via
the Toeplitz determinant. The use of Szego-Kac theorem suggests that at Q>\pi/3
the divergent series for intrinsic logarithm provides a bosonized solution and
faster decaying one, found as the logarithm's value on another sheet of the
complex plane. The second solution is revealed as umklapp-process on the
fictitious lattice while originates from backscattering terms in bosonized
density. Our finding preserves in a wide range of fermion filling ratios.Comment: 8 pages, REVTEX, 3 eps figures, accepted to Phys.Rev.
New classes of exact solutions of three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations
New classes of exact solutions of the three-dimensional unsteady
Navier-Stokes equations containing arbitrary functions and parameters are
described. Various periodic and other solutions, which are expressed through
elementary functions are obtained. The general physical interpretation and
classification of solutions is given.Comment: 11 page
Law Enforcement as Discretion and Legal Process
This article investigates the analytical and synthesis aspects of a wide range of sources, considering law enforcement from a dual perspective: as legal discretion and as a kind of legal process. This research applied the classical methodology of qualitative analysis of systems and processes, in particular, a system-analytical approach to the study of research object
Man and citizen duties: review of american state constitutions
The article presents the author's analysis of the constitutions of the American countries for the purpose of their norm determination regulating various aspects of duties of a person and a citizen. The results are systematized in the form of standard and original type lists of personal responsibilities in the American states; the specifics of their constitutional formalization is reveale
Quasi One-Dimensional Spin Fluctuations in YBa(2)Cu(3)O(6+x)
We study the spin fluctuation of the oxygen deficient planes of
YBa(2)Cu(3)O(6+x). The Cu-O chains that constitute these planes are described
by a model that includes antiferromagnetic interactions between spins and
Kondo-like scattering of oxygen holes. The spectrum of magnetic excitations
shows the presence of incommensurate dynamic fluctuations along the direction
of the chains. The presence of itinerant holes is responsible for the existence
of important differences between the spin dynamics of this system and that of a
quasi-one-dimensional localized antiferromagnet. We comment on the possibility
of experimental observation of these fluctuations.Comment: 22 pages, REVTEX, 3 figures, to appear in PRB55 (1May 1997
