L-Glutamine peptides as a means of accelerated rehydration under intense physical activity in athletes
This review is devoted to the theory and practice of the use of glutamine dipeptides in sports. The pathway of L-Glutamine dipeptides is described from the moment of oral intake and entering the intestine to inclusion in intracellular metabolic processes of organs and tissues. The physico-chemical properties of L-Glutamine dipeptides are considered. Urgent effects of L-Glutamine dipeptides under conditions of physical stress and hydration stress, influence on motor and cognitive functions of athletes, positive influence on physical readiness of athletes for prolonged debilitating exercises, reduction of weight loss (rehydration) are described. Positive results of the study of the effect of oral administration of AH and electrolytes on the concentration of plasma electrolytes, physiological indices and neuromuscular fatigue in the process of endurance training, as well as neuroprotective and analgesic properties of L-Glutamine dipeptides are presented
Pilot study on the evaluation of the effectiveness of psychocorrection methods that include EEG-training and VR headset in athletes involved in extreme kinds of sports
Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of psychocorrection based on the methods of selfÂregulation in athletes.Materials and methods: the effectiveness was evaluated on 104 male athletes who had an optimal level of psychoemotional state of the body during a background examination by electroencephalography (EEG). The subjects were randomly assigned to three groups of psychocorrection: control, EEGtraining, and VRÂtherapy. Mathematical and statistical processing was carried out in Statistica 7.Results: the average values of the wave intensity index (WII) after psychological correction using the following methods: EEGÂtraining and VRtherapy showed positive EEG dynamics in athletes of the second group (EEGÂtraining) 65,6 % (21) and the third group (VrÂtherapy) 73,8 % (31) of the subjects, respectively. Whereas in the control group, selfÂhealing was recorded in 9 (30 %) athletes without psychocorrection procedures. Conclusion: the quantitative criterion of WII is a universal informative indicator of the functional activity of the brain for evaluating the effectiveness of psychocorrection aimed at optimizing the psychoemotional state. Psychocorrection of athletes using EEGÂtraining and VRÂtherapy provides efficiency in 73.8 and 65.6 % of cases, which significantly softens preÂstart tension as a result of reducing anxiety and restoring the psychoemotional state of the body to an optimal level by involving the psychological reserve
Metabolic treatment of immunological disorders in juniors
It is common knowledge that from the cellular level upwards all vital functions of the body represent a continuous chain of adaptive reactions based on the use of energy. The leading element in non-specific mechanisms of adaptation is stress reaction [1]. In the early stages of stress development, the electrical activity of limbic-reticular structures of the brain changes first, followed by the activation of somatovegetative reactions [2]

Optimising the active muon shield for the SHiP experiment at CERN
The SHiP experiment is designed to search for very weakly interacting particles beyond the Standard Model which are produced in a 400 GeV/c proton beam dump at the CERN SPS. The critical challenge for this experiment is to keep the Standard Model background level negligible. In the beam dump, around muons will be produced per second. The muon rate in the spectrometer has to be reduced by at least four orders of magnitude to avoid muon-induced backgrounds. It is demonstrated that new improved active muon shield may be used to magnetically deflect the muons out of the acceptance of the spectrometer
Pulmonary hypertension as a risk assessment factor for unfavorable outcome in patients with COVID-19
Aim. To determine the predictive role of estimated pulmonary artery systolic pressure (ePASP) in COVID-19 patients.Material and methods. A retrospective study of inpatients with documented COVID-19 infection was carried out. Maximal follow-up period was 63 days. The study included 108 patients (men, 62; women, 46; mean age, 62,9±15,5 years). At admission, mean NEWS score was 6,0, blood oxygen saturation — 92%. Echocardiography was performed according to standard protocol using Vivid E9 ultrasound system (GE Healthcare). Quantitative measurements were performed according to the current ASE and EACVI guidelines. Statistical analysis was performed using the IBM SPSS Statistics v.26 software (developed by IBM Corporation).Results. Using the CHAID technique, a classification tree was developed and the strongest predictor of an unfavorable outcome was determined (ePASP). Threshold ePASP values, associated with an increased mortality risk were established (42 mm Hg and 50 mm Hg). Three groups of patients were selected based on the main predictor (<41,0 mm Hg, 42-49 mm Hg and >50 mm Hg). The increased mortality risk was noted in groups 2 and 3 compared to group 1 of patients and amounted to 31,8% and 70% versus 3,9%, respectively. There was also a correlation between the severity of CT lung parenchymal lesions according to computed tomography and the study groups of patients (36% [30-49%] — group 1, 50% [36-76%] — group 2, and 84% [56-92%] — group 3, p=0,001). In groups 2 and 3, the following complications were significantly more frequent: acute respiratory distress syndrome, acute heart failure, multiple organ system failure, venous thrombosis, disseminated intravascular coagulation. In group 3, acute renal failure and systemic inflammatory response syndrome developed significantly more often than in group 1.Conclusion. A comprehensive echocardiography has proven its availability and safety in assessing the condition of COVID-19 patients, allowing to obtain relevant information on pulmonary hemodynamics. Transthoracic echocardiography reduced the risk of complications from invasive diagnostic methods and allowed to abandon the use of the Swan-Ganz pulmonary artery catheter in the studied group of patients. As a result, a relationship was noted between the increase of ePASP and the severity of clinical performance and lung tissue damage according to computed tomography, changes in laboratory blood tests, the severity of the comorbid profile, an increase in respiratory support need
