This study aimed to analyze the effect of macroeconomic indicators of the amount of savings in the national private banks in Indonesia. The data used are secondary data from the total savings in private banks published in Banking Statistics Indonesia (SPI), reports of inflation and nominal interest rates of banks published by Bank Indonesia (BI) and GDP quarterly published by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the period 2004-2008. The sampling technique used was saturated samples where all the population selected as a sample .. The results showed that the partial inflation rate has no effect on the amount of savings in private banks. While the nominal interest rate has a significant negative effect on the amount of savings and GDP has a significant positive effect on the amount of savings. Alih Fungsi Lahan Padi Menjadi Karet di Daerah Irigasi Way Rarem Pulung Kencana Kabupaten Tulang Bawang Barat

This research aims to determine the factors that affect the paddy converted land of the rubber plant, the economic value of the land (land rent) and welfare of farmers whose paddy fields converted into rubber plant functions. This research was conducted at the Regional Irrigation Way Rarem Pulung Kencana West Tulang Bawang regency. Data were taken from March to April 2015. The sampling technique is done with Simple Random Sampling Method. The sample consisted of 54 people consisting of farmers in the district Tulang Bawang Tengah are 27 samples, farmers in Sub Tumijajar are 15 samples, and farmers in District Tulang Bawang Udik are 12 samples. Data analized with multiple linear regression, revenue analysis, and to determine the level of welfare of farmers based on criteria of Sajogyo and the Central Bureau of Statistics. The results showed that (1) the factors that affect the paddy converted land into rubber plant functions at the Regional Irrigation Way Rarem Pulung Kencana West Tulang Bawang is the area of ​​land and the percentage of irrigated paddy field throughout the year, (2) the economic value of the land (land rent) farming rubber 2.85 times larger than the land rent paddy rice farming, (3) based on the criteria Sajogyo (1997), 87,04 percent of respondents are categorized quite prosperous, while based on the criteria of the Central Bureau of Statistics (2007), all the farmers' respondents are belong to prosperous category

Gamma-Ray Bursts and Quantum Cosmic Censorship

Gamma-ray bursts are believed to result from the coalescence of binary neutron stars. However, the standard proposals for conversion of the gravitational energy to thermal energy have difficulties. We show that if the merger of the two neutron stars results in a naked singularity, instead of a black hole, the ensuing quantum particle creation can provide the requisite thermal energy in a straightforward way. The back-reaction of the created particles can avoid the formation of the naked singularity predicted by the classical theory. Pengaruh Kualitas Pelayanan, Word of Mouth, Dan Brand Image Terhadap Keputusan Penggunaan Jne Cabang Semarang

High levels of population mobility caused the need for courier services is important in supporting the mobility of global society , either for personal or business interests. JNE is one of the biggest courier company in Indonesia which has a mission to give the best experience for customer consistently. The achievement total of JNE branch Semarang has fluctuating not only from the target but also from the delivery total income since 2012 through 2014. This type of research is using explanatory research. The sample of this research are 100 respondents, and data collection techniques through questionnaires and interview using accidental sampling. Quantitative data were analyzed through the validity, reliability, crosstab, correlation, coefficient of determination, simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, t test and F test using SPSS for Windows version 15. The results show that service quality, word of mouth and brand image have partial and simultaneous effect to using decision. Brand image provides the most effect on using decision of JNE Branch Semarang. The suggestions that can be given in this research are the company expected to increase the service quality especially for the JNE\u27s employee, and also can re-arrange the capacity of service providers facility, and increase the quality of delivery so there\u27s no delay anymore

Implementasi One TIME Pad Kriptografi Pada Gambar Grayscale Dan Gambar Berwarna

Penyandian pesan melalui teknik kriptografi terus berkembang, salah satunya yaitu penggunaan algoritma One Time Pad (OTP) yang semula hanya digunakan untuk menyandikan tulisan kini dapat digunakan untuk menyandikan gambar. OTP merupakan algoritma kriptografi klasik kunci simetris yang sangat aman untuk menyandikan gambar, bahkan sampai saat ini beklum terpecahkan. Hal ini dikarenakan panjang kunci yang digunakan sama dengan panjang plainteks yang dalam pengoperasiannya harus dalam keadaan random dan tidak boleh digenerate. Hasil eksperimen diuji menggunaan Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), Bit Error Ratio (BER), Cross Correlation (CC). Pada kriptografi, nilai PSNR semakin mendekati 0 artinya gambar tersandikan sempurna yang bertolak belakang dengan watermarking. Pada watermarking nilai PSNR lebih dari 40 dB membuktikan tingkat keberhasilan yang baik. Makalah ini menyajikan hasil eksperimen pada 24 gambar keabuan dan gambar berwarna untuk proses enkripsi dan dekripsi. Hasil PSNR proses enkripsi terbaik yaitu 7,4134 dB, BER 26230 sedangkan proses dekripsi berhasil dengan bukti nilai PSNR infinitive, BER dan MSE dari seluruh gambar bernilai 0. Untuk mengetahui perbedaan gambar asli dengan gambar hasil kriptografi, perbedaan nilai dari hasil percobaan disajikan dalam bentuk histogram. Kata Kunci: One Time Pad, Kriptografi, Citra, PSNR, BE

The Enigmatic Radio Afterglow of GRB 991216

We present wide-band radio observations spanning from 1.4 GHz to 350 GHz of the afterglow of GRB 991216, taken from 1 to 80 days after the burst. The optical and X-ray afterglow of this burst were fairly typical and are explained by a jet fireball. In contrast, the radio light curve is unusual in two respects: (a) the radio light curve does not show the usual rise to maximum flux on timescales of weeks and instead appears to be declining already on day 1 and (b) the power law indices show significant steepening from the radio through the X-ray bands. We show that the standard fireball model, in which the afterglow is from a forward shock, is unable to account for (b) and we conclude that the bulk of the radio emission must arise from a different source. We consider two models, neither of which can be ruled out with the existing data. In the first (conventional) model, the early radio emission is attributed to emission from the reverse shock as in the case of GRB 990123. We predict that the prompt optical emission would have been as bright (or brighter) than 8th magnitude. In the second (exotic) model, the radio emission originates from the forward shock of an isotropically energetic fireball (10^54 erg) expanding into a tenuous medium (10^-4 cm^-3). The resulting fireball would remain relativistic for months and is potentially resolvable with VLBI techniques. Finally, we note that the near-IR bump of the afterglow is similar to that seen in GRB 971214 and no fireball model can explain this bump.Comment: ApJ, submitte

Keck Observatory Laser Guide Star Adaptive Optics Discovery and Characterization of a Satellite to the Large Kuiper Belt Object 2003 EL_(61)

The newly commissioned laser guide star adaptive optics system at Keck Observatory has been used to discover and characterize the orbit of a satellite to the bright Kuiper Belt object 2003 EL_(61). Observations over a 6 month period show that the satellite has a semimajor axis of 49,500 ± 400 km, an orbital period of 49.12 ± 0.03 days, and an eccentricity of 0.050 ± 0.003. The inferred mass of the system is (4.2 ± 0.1) × 10^(21) kg, or ~32% of the mass of Pluto and 28.6% ± 0.7% of the mass of the Pluto-Charon system. Mutual occultations occurred in 1999 and will not occur again until 2138. The orbit is fully consistent neither with one tidally evolved from an earlier closer configuration nor with one evolved inward by dynamical friction from an earlier more distant configuration
