Optical Statistical Measurements of Free Convection Flow Patterns
Get PDFMeasurements have been made of the autocorrelation of photographs of the flow patterns produced at high Rayleigh numbers in a horizontal layer of liquid heated from below and cooled on top. The relation of these measurements to temperature measurements in the fluid are considered. Analogous situations in other physical systems are also discussed
