Analysis of Ωc∗(css)\Omega_c^*(css) and Ωb∗(bss)\Omega_b^*(bss) with QCD sum rules

In this article, we calculate the masses and residues of the heavy baryons Ωc∗(css)\Omega_c^*(css) and Ωb∗(bss)\Omega_b^*(bss) with spin-parity 3/2+{3/2}^+ with the QCD sum rules. The numerical values are compatible with experimental data and other theoretical estimations.Comment: 13 pages, 8 figures, slight versio

Evidence for CP Violation in B0 -> D+D- Decays

    Get PDF
We report measurements of the branching fraction and CP violation parameters in B0 -> D+D- decays. The results are based on a data sample that contains 535 x 10^6 BBbar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance, with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We obtain [1.97 +- 0.20 (stat) +- 0.20 (syst)] x 10^(-4) for the branching fraction of B0 -> D+D-. The measured values of the CP violation parameters are: S = -1.13 +- 0.37 +- 0.09, A = 0.91 +- 0.23 +- 0.06, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. We find evidence of CP violation in B0 -> D+D- at the 4.1 sigma confidence level. While the value of S is consistent with expectations from other measurements, the value of the parameter A favors large direct CP violation at the 3.2 sigma confidence level, in contradiction to Standard Model expectations.Comment: 12 pages, 3 figures, submitted to PR

    Search for the h_c meson in B^+- ->h_c K^+-

    Get PDF
We report a search for the hch_c meson via the decay chain B±→hcK±B^{\pm}\to h_c K^{\pm}, \etac \gamma with ηc→KS0K±π∓\eta_c \to K_S^0 K^{\pm} \pi^{\mp} and ppˉp\bar{p}. No significant signals are observed. We obtain upper limits on the branching fractions for B±→ηcÎłK±B^{\pm} \to \eta_c\gamma K^{\pm} in bins of the ηcÎł\eta_c\gamma invariant mass. The results are based on an analysis of 253 fb−1^{-1} of data collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e−e^+e^- collider.Comment: 12 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Phys. Rev.

Search for Bs0→γγB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\gamma\gamma and a measurement of the branching fraction for Bs0â†’Ï•ÎłB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\phi\gamma

We search for the decay Bs0→γγB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\gamma\gamma and measure the branching fraction for Bs0â†’Ï•ÎłB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\phi\gamma using 121.4~fb−1\textrm{fb}^{-1} of data collected at the ΄(5S)\Upsilon(\mathrm{5}S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e−e^{+}e^{-} collider. The Bs0â†’Ï•ÎłB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\phi\gamma branching fraction is measured to be (3.6±0.5(stat.)±0.3(syst.)±0.6(fs))×10−5(3.6 \pm 0.5 (\mathrm{stat.}) \pm 0.3 (\mathrm{syst.}) \pm 0.6 (f_{s})) \times 10^{-5}, where fsf_{s} is the fraction of Bs(∗)Bˉs(∗)B_{s}^{(*)}\bar{B}_{s}^{(*)} in bbˉb\bar{b} events. Our result is in good agreement with the theoretical predictions as well as with a recent measurement from LHCb. We observe no statistically significant signal for the decay Bs0→γγB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\gamma\gamma and set a 90%90\% confidence-level upper limit on its branching fraction at 3.1×10−6 3.1 \times 10^{-6}. This constitutes a significant improvement over the previous result.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure

Pion and proton showers in the CALICE scintillator-steel analogue hadron calorimeter

Showers produced by positive hadrons in the highly granular CALICE scintillator-steel analogue hadron calorimeter were studied. The experimental data were collected at CERN and FNAL for single particles with initial momenta from 10 to 80 GeV/c. The calorimeter response and resolution and spatial characteristics of shower development for proton- and pion-induced showers for test beam data and simulations using Geant4 version 9.6 are compared.Comment: 26 pages, 16 figures, JINST style, changes in the author list, typos corrected, new section added, figures regrouped. Measurements of the masses and widths of the ÎŁc(2455)0/++\Sigma_{c}(2455)^{0/++} and ÎŁc(2520)0/++\Sigma_{c}(2520)^{0/++} baryons

We present measurements of the masses and decay widths of the baryonic states ÎŁc(2455)0/++\Sigma_{c}(2455)^{0/++} and ÎŁc(2520)0/++\Sigma_{c}(2520)^{0/++} using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711 fb−1^{-1} collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e−e^{+}e^{-} asymmetric-energy collider operating at the ΄(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance. We report the mass differences with respect to the Λc+\Lambda_{c}^{+} baryon M(ÎŁc(2455)0)−M(Λc+)=167.29±0.01±0.02M(\Sigma_{c}(2455)^{0})-M(\Lambda_{c}^{+}) = 167.29\pm0.01\pm0.02 MeV/c2c^{2}, M(ÎŁc(2455)++)−M(Λc+)=167.51±0.01±0.02M(\Sigma_{c}(2455)^{++})-M(\Lambda_{c}^{+}) = 167.51\pm0.01\pm0.02 MeV/c2c^{2}, M(ÎŁc(2520)0)−M(Λc+)=231.98±0.11±0.04M(\Sigma_{c}(2520)^{0})-M(\Lambda_{c}^{+}) = 231.98\pm0.11\pm0.04 MeV/c2c^{2}, M(ÎŁc(2520)++)−M(Λc+)=231.99±0.10±0.02M(\Sigma_{c}(2520)^{++})-M(\Lambda_{c}^{+}) = 231.99\pm0.10\pm0.02 MeV/c2c^{2}, and the decay widths Γ(ÎŁc(2455)0)=1.76±0.04−0.21+0.09\Gamma(\Sigma_{c}(2455)^{0}) = 1.76\pm0.04^{+0.09}_{-0.21} MeV/c2c^{2}, Γ(ÎŁc(2455)++)=1.84±0.04−0.20+0.07\Gamma(\Sigma_{c}(2455)^{++}) = 1.84\pm0.04^{+0.07}_{-0.20} MeV/c2c^{2}, Γ(ÎŁc(2520)0)=15.41±0.41−0.32+0.20\Gamma(\Sigma_{c}(2520)^{0}) = 15.41\pm0.41^{+0.20}_{-0.32} MeV/c2c^{2}, Γ(ÎŁc(2520)++)=14.77±0.25−0.30+0.18\Gamma(\Sigma_{c}(2520)^{++}) = 14.77\pm0.25^{+0.18}_{-0.30} MeV/c2c^{2}, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The isospin mass splittings are measured to be M(ÎŁc(2455)++)−M(ÎŁc(2455)0)=0.22±0.01±0.01M(\Sigma_{c}(2455)^{++})-M(\Sigma_{c}(2455)^{0})=0.22\pm0.01\pm0.01 MeV/c2c^{2} and M(ÎŁc(2520)++)−M(ÎŁc(2520)0)=0.01±0.15±0.03M(\Sigma_{c}(2520)^{++})-M(\Sigma_{c}(2520)^{0})=0.01\pm0.15\pm0.03 MeV/c2c^{2}. These results are the most precise to date.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures, Submitted to PRD(RC

Averages of bb-hadron, cc-hadron, and τ\tau-lepton properties as of summer 2014

This article reports world averages of measurements of bb-hadron, cc-hadron, and τ\tau-lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavor Averaging Group (HFAG) using results available through summer 2014. For the averaging, common input parameters used in the various analyses are adjusted (rescaled) to common values, and known correlations are taken into account. The averages include branching fractions, lifetimes, neutral meson mixing parameters, CPCP violation parameters, parameters of semileptonic decays and CKM matrix elements.Comment: 436 pages, many figures and tables. Determination of the Michel Parameters rho, xi, and delta in tau-Lepton Decays with tau --> rho nu Tags

    Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e−e^+ e^- storage ring DORIS II, we have measured the Michel parameters ρ\rho, Ο\xi, and ΟΎ\xi\delta for τ±→l±ΜΜˉ\tau^{\pm}\to l^{\pm} \nu\bar\nu decays in τ\tau-pair events produced at center of mass energies in the region of the ΄\Upsilon resonances. Using τ∓→ρ∓Μ\tau^\mp \to \rho^\mp \nu as spin analyzing tags, we find ρe=0.68±0.04±0.08\rho_{e}=0.68\pm 0.04 \pm 0.08, Οe=1.12±0.20±0.09\xi_{e}= 1.12 \pm 0.20 \pm 0.09, ΟΎe=0.57±0.14±0.07\xi\delta_{e}= 0.57 \pm 0.14 \pm 0.07, ρΌ=0.69±0.06±0.08\rho_{\mu}= 0.69 \pm 0.06 \pm 0.08, ΟΌ=1.25±0.27±0.14\xi_{\mu}= 1.25 \pm 0.27 \pm 0.14 and ΟΎΌ=0.72±0.18±0.10\xi\delta_{\mu}= 0.72 \pm 0.18 \pm 0.10. In addition, we report the combined ARGUS results on ρ\rho, Ο\xi, and ΟΎ\xi\delta using this work und previous measurements.Comment: 10 pages, well formatted postscript can be found at http://pktw06.phy.tu-dresden.de/iktp/pub/desy97-194.p
