Influence of a spin-orbit exciton on the magnetic ordering in Sr2IrO4
This study investigates a spin-orbit exciton propagation in quasi-two-dimensional Heisenberg antiferromagnet Sr2IrO4 by means of computer simulations. Heisenberg model is used with consideration of magnetic interactions and exciton hopping. As the result of this simulation spin structure factor and dynamic spin structure factor are calculated. This study investigates excitonic states in Sr2IrO4. We argue that in this compound a new type of exciton hopping is possible and it arises from Hundβs coupling omitted in most re-searches. To check these theoretical calculations computer simulations were used
Mechanical activation influence on the morphological properties of La[2]O[3]-TiO[2]-B
The influence of mechanical activation of the powder mixture used to obtain the high-perfomance cathode for accelerating engineering with the SHS-method has been explored. The mechanically processed mixtures have been morphologically analyzed. The optimal modes of mechanical activation have been determined for the mixture
A Precise Determination of Electroweak Parameters in Neutrino-Nucleon Scattering
The NuTeV collaboration has extracted sin^2theta_W from the ratios of neutral
current to charged current neutrino and anti-neutrino cross-sections. Our
value, sin^2theta_W(on-shell)=0.2277+/-0.0013(stat)+/-0.0009(syst), is three
standard deviations above the standard model prediction. We also present a
model independent analysis of the same data.Comment: ReVTeX, 5 pp, 1fig; v2. revised SM prediction; v3. more sig. digits

Extraction of R = sigma_L/sigma_T from CCFR nu_mu-Fe and nubar_mu-Fe differential cross sections
We report on the extraction of R=sigma_L/sigma_T from CCFR nu_mu-Fe and
nubar_mu-Fe differential cross sections. The CCFR differential cross sections
do not show the deviations from the QCD expectations that are seen in the CDHSW
data at very low and very high x. R as measured in nu_mu scattering is in
agreement with R as measured in muon and electron scattering. All data on R for
Q^2 > 1 GeV^2 are in agreement with a NNLO QCD calculation which includes
target mass effects. We report on the first measurements of R in the low x and
Q^2 < 1 GeV^2 region (where an anomalous large rise in R for nuclear targets
has been observed by the HERMES collaboration).Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, submitted to Phys. Rev. Let
Search for a 33.9 MeV/c^2 Neutral Particle in Pion Decay
The E815 (NuTeV) neutrino experiment has performed a search for a 33.9
MeV/c^2 weakly-interacting neutral particle produced in pion decay. Such a
particle may be responsible for an anomaly in the timing distribution of
neutrino interactions in the KARMEN experiment. E815 has searched for this
particle's decays in an instrumented decay region; no evidence for this
particle was found. The search is sensitive to pion branching ratios as low as
10^-13.Comment: 4 pages; 5 figure
