The locus of points of the Hilbert scheme with bounded regularity
In this paper we consider the Hilbert scheme parameterizing
subschemes of with Hilbert polynomial , and we investigate its
locus containing points corresponding to schemes with regularity lower than or
equal to a fixed integer . This locus is an open subscheme of
and, for every , we describe it as a locally closed
subscheme of the Grasmannian given by a set of equations of
degree and linear inequalities in the coordinates
of the Pl\"ucker embedding.Comment: v2: new proofs relying on the functorial definition of the Hilbert
scheme. v3: Sections reorganized, new self-contained proof of the

Analysis of GPS, VLBI and DORIS input time series for ITRF2014
In this work we have compared the Up component
time series reprocessed in view of the new ITRF2014. The solutions
that we have considered are the combinations of individual
submissions of the Operational Analysis Centers (ACs) as o-
cial IVS, IGS and IDS products. We have modelled time series as
discrete-time Marcov processes, we have detected and removed
discontinuities from data time series and estimated trends (long
term signals). A frequency analysis making research of residual
periodic signals and identification of the common ones to all the
three space geodetic techniques has been performed. Preliminary
results on co-located sites are shown
Evaluation of the impact of heat-wave on distribution system resilience
This paper addresses the impact of heat waves on a real urban distribution system. A data-driven methodology is proposed to simulate the portion of faults that can be associated to normal conditions (and hence to reliability) and the portion correlated to the heat wave occurrence. Based on real data collected in the years 2012-2017, the fault rates associated to reliability and resilience have been calculated and then used to feed a Monte Carlo simulation aiming to manage the uncertainty in the fault occurrence. Finally, based on the Italian legislation, the avoided costs deriving by the substitution of the faulted portion of the system have been calculated. The results show the different nature of reliability and resilience in terms of empirical cumulative curve, suggesting the necessity of using a stochastic-based methodology within regulatory frameworks, especially in case of output-based regulation
Unusual Presentation of Localized Gastric Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue Lymphoma Mimicking Poorly Differentiated Gastric Adenocarcinoma
The risk of misdiagnosing neoplastic cells typically infiltrating an epithelium forming a lymphoepithelial lesion as poorly differentiated gastric cancer in endoscopic biopsies, particularly in low-grade mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphomas, is described. A 76-year-old woman was referred for management of a poorly differentiated gastric adenocarcinoma. Diagnostic endoscopy in our unit showed a 2 cm raised, submucosal lesion with central erosion in the upper body of the stomach, but repeat biopsies of the lesion were interpreted as inflamed gastric mucosa and negative for malignancy. Systematic gastric biopsies to rule out any foci of MALT lymphoma changes were also negative. Therefore, endoscopic submucosal dissection was performed to obtain an accurate specimen. Histology revealed centrocyte-like cells and a lymphoepithelial lesion invading into the mucosa with obliteration of the gastric glands, which was initially interpreted as poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma
Nuclear Import of the Thyroid Hormone Receptor α1 is Mediated by Importin 7, Importin β1, and Adaptor Importin α1
The thyroid hormone receptor a1 (TRa1) is a nuclear receptor for thyroid hormone that shuttles rapidly between the nucleus and cytoplasm. Our prior studies showed that nuclear import of TRa1 is directed by two nuclear localization signals, one in the N-terminal A/B domain and the other in the hinge domain. Here, we showed using in vitro nuclear import assays that TRa1 nuclear localization is temperature and energy-dependent and can be reconstituted by the addition of cytosol. In HeLa cells expressing green fluorescent protein (GFP)-tagged TRa1, knockdown of importin 7, importin B1 and importin a1 by RNA interference, or treatment with an importin B1-specific inhibitor, significantly reduced nuclear localization of TRa1, while knockdown of other importins had no effect. Coimmunoprecipitation assays confirmed that TRa1 interacts with importin 7, as well as importin B1 and the adapter importin B1, suggesting that TRa1 trafficking into the nucleus is mediated by two distinct pathways
Congruences of lines in , quadratic normality, and completely exceptional Monge-Amp\`ere equations
The existence is proved of two new families of locally Cohen-Macaulay sextic
threefolds in , which are not quadratically normal. These
threefolds arise naturally in the realm of first order congruences of lines as
focal loci and in the study of the completely exceptional Monge-Amp\`ere
equations. One of these families comes from a smooth congruence of multidegree
which is a smooth Fano fourfold of index two and genus 9.Comment: 16 page
