    Get PDF
In this article, the definition and characterization of relative booster ideals in distributive p-algebras are given. The relationship between disjunctive relative booster ideals and normal relative booster ideals is established in the distributive p-algebras. A lattice congruence relation defined via the relative boosters is given and its quotient lattice structure is obtained

Background: Several operative techniques were described to reconstruct the diffusely diseased left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD). The superiority of the left internal mammary artery (LIMA) vs. the saphenous vein patch is controversial in LAD reconstruction. Thus, this study compared LIMA on-lay patch vs. saphenous vein patch in reconstructing diffusely diseased LAD artery. Methods: This study was conducted between June 2020 and May 2022 including 60 patients with a diffusely diseased LAD. LIMA patch was used in 30 patients (Group I) and saphenous vein patch in 30 patients (Group II) without endarterectomy. Males presented 85%; the mean age was 56.68 ± 6.44 years. The mean patch length in the LIMA group was 4.48±0.87 cm and 4.60± 0.93 cm in the saphenous vein group. Results: The mean aortic cross-clamp and cardiopulmonary bypass times were 66.80± 19.93 and 108.00± 25.74 minutes in the LIMA group and 84.40± 30.65 and 132.53± 45.41 minutes in the venous Group (P= 0.011 and 0.013, respectively). The mean intensive care unit stay was 50.40 ± 38.65 hours in Group I and 92.00± 51.62 hours in Group II (P˂ 0.001). Four patients (13.3%) needed an intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) in Group I, and 11 patients (36.7%) in Group II (P= 0.037). Postoperative low cardiac output occurred in 13.3% of Group I and 53.3% in Group II (P= 0.001). Postoperative atrial fibrillation occurred in 13.3% of Group I, while in Group II was 33.3% (P= 0.067). The renal complications were 3.3% in Group I and 16.7% in Group II (P= 0.085). Two patients (6.7%) were complicated with bleeding in Group I, and nine (30.0%) in Group II (P= 0.02). The postoperative ejection fraction was 58.17± 5.25% in Group I and 53.3± 5.23% in Group II (P= 0.001). On the first postoperative day, the creatine kinase-myoglobin binding level was 61.73± 30.19 IU/L in Group I and 92.63± 45.88 IU/L in Group II (P= 0.004). Hospital mortality occurred in one patient (3.3%) in Group I and two in Group II (6.7%) (P˃ 0.99). Conclusion: LAD reconstruction using the LIMA patch could have better early outcomes than the saphenous vein patch

An Artistic Vision of Using Polyurethane Foam in Drapping Fictional Costumes Designs to Achieve Sustainable Development

One of the aspects of the modern era is leaving more room for imagination and experimentation. Costumes design in general and fictional costumes design in particular are among the areas that need a lot of experimentation, especially with new, non-traditional materials. This is what encouraged the researchers to choose the polyurethane foam as a non-traditional material to design fictional costumes in order to achieve sustainable development goals. The research aims at clarifying the characteristics of the polyurethane foam and it’s Forming instead of plastic capabilities in the field of Costumes design, and providing proposals for fictional costumes designs with this material, in addition to achieving the sustainable development goals; such as, adopting sustainable production and consumption patterns, and stimulating innovation. The research findings state the possibility of achieving new visions of using the polyurethane foam to design and create fictional costumes in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development

The homotopy theory of simplicial props

The category of (colored) props is an enhancement of the category of colored operads, and thus of the category of small categories. In this paper, the second in a series on "higher props," we show that the category of all small colored simplicial props admits a cofibrantly generated model category structure. With this model structure, the forgetful functor from props to operads is a right Quillen functor.Comment: Final version, to appear in Israel J. Mat

On-Pump versus Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting in The Surgical Management of High-Risk Patients, A Clinical Randomized Study

Background: Surgical treatment modalities of coronary artery diseases (CAD) include on-pump or off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). CABG performed on the beating heart can avoid complications that might occur on cardiopulmonary bypass. Our objective was to compare the effectiveness of on-pump versus off-pump CABG in high-risk patients stratified according to the EuroSCORE scoring system.  Methods: This randomized clinical study included 80 high-risk patients who underwent CABG and assigned into two groups; each contains 40 patients. Patients with valvular affection, ischemic ventricular septal defect or left ventricle and aortic aneurysms, and/or those exhibiting significant neurological pathology were excluded from the study. Study outcomes were blood loss, length of ICU and hospital stay, inotropic use, re-exploration rate, and operative mortality. Results: The study showed significant higher use of inotropic drugs intra and post-operatively (57.5% vs 40%, p = 0.021), more low cardiac output (12.5% vs 2.5%, p = 0.031), lower blood loss (337±67 vs 498±68 ml, p = 0.01), lower blood transfusion (1.1±0.2 vs 1.2±0.4 unit, p = 0.024), more prolonged ICU stay (4.0±1.6 vs 3.0±0.9 day, p = 0.001) and the higher re-exploration rate (17.5% vs 7.5%, p = 0.035) in the on-pump group. Hospital stay (8.7±2 vs 8.1±1, p = 0.121) and early mortality (7.5% vs 2.5%, p = 0.451) did not differ significantly between the two groups. Conclusion: Management of coronary artery disease is still challenging, and there is still a place for off-pump CABG in CAD in high-risk patients due to its advantages in the early complications while has the same total hospital stay when compared with on-pump CABG

Bar constructions and Quillen homology of modules over operads

We show that topological Quillen homology of algebras and modules over operads in symmetric spectra can be calculated by realizations of simplicial bar constructions. Working with several model category structures, we give a homotopical proof after showing that certain homotopy colimits in algebras and modules over operads can be easily understood. A key result here, which lies at the heart of this paper, is showing that the forgetful functor commutes with certain homotopy colimits. We also prove analogous results for algebras and modules over operads in unbounded chain complexes.Comment: 38 pages, uses xy-pic, minor revisio

The study aimed to examine the effects of augmented reality technology on the development of origami-style pattern designing skills among female students in the clothing and textile field, as well as to explore their attitudes towards this technology. The quasi-experimental approach was employed to achieve the research objectives, with a sample of 24 female students from the Fourth Grade of the Department of Clothing and Textile, Faculty of Home Economics at Al-Azhar University. The participants were divided into two groups: a control group of 12 students who studied in the traditional way, and an experimental group of 12 students who used augmented reality technology to learn. The study was conducted in the second semester of the academic year 2020/2021. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference (at a significance level of 0.01) between the average scores of the control group and the experimental group in both cognitive achievement and skill performance, with the experimental group performing better. Additionally, the retention of learned information was higher among the experimental group, and they had a more positive attitude towards using augmented reality technology in learning
