A very deep Chandra observation of Abell 1795: The Cold Front and Cooling Wake
We present a new analysis of very deep Chandra observations of the galaxy
cluster Abell 1795. Utilizing nearly 750 ks of net ACIS imaging, we are able to
resolve the thermodynamic structure of the Intracluster Medium (ICM) on length
scales of ~ 1 kpc near the cool core. We find several previously unresolved
structures, including a high pressure feature to the north of the BCG that
appears to arise from the bulk motion of Abell 1795's cool core. To the south
of the cool core, we find low temperature (~ 3 keV), diffuse ICM gas extending
for distances of ~ 50 kpc spatially coincident with previously identified
filaments of H-alpha emission. Gas at similar temperatures is also detected in
adjacent regions without any H-alpha emission. The X-ray gas coincident with
the H-alpha filament has been measured to be cooling spectroscopically at a
rate of ~ 1 Solar Masses/ yr, consistent with measurements of the star
formation rate in this region as inferred from UV observations, suggesting that
the star formation in this filament as inferred by its H and UV
emission can trace its origin to the rapid cooling of dense, X-ray emitting
gas. The H-alpha filament is not a unique site of cooler ICM, however, as ICM
at similar temperatures and even higher metallicities not cospatial with
H emission is observed just to the west of the H-alpha filament,
suggesting that it may have been uplifted by Abell 1795's central active
galaxy. Further simulations of cool core sloshing and AGN feedback operating in
concert with one another will be necessary to understand how such a dynamic
cool core region may have originated and why the H-alpha emission is so
localized with respect to the cool X-ray gas despite the evidence for a
catastrophic cooling flow.Comment: 14 Pages, 10 Figures, Resubmitted to ApJ after first referee report,

Male depression risk, psychological distress, and psychotherapy uptake: Validation of the German version of the male depression risk scale
Background
Screening for depressive disorders in men may be complicated by traditional male role norms. The Male Depression Risk Scale (MDRS) was developed to aid screening for depression in men adhering to traditional male role norms and to facilitate identification of depression in men in general and to promote treatment uptake.
Aims
Validation of a German version of the MDRS and examination of its potential to predict clinical characteristics.
Methods
In an anonymous online survey comprising of 1605 participants (male: N = 671; 42%), information was obtained on psychological distress, diagnosed psychological disorders, psychotherapy and psychopharmacological treatment. Additional measures included a German version of the MDRS as further mental-health-related constructs.
Results
The German version of the MDRS showed good validity and reliability. The previously identified 6-factor structure could be replicated for the German version. Compared to the Patient Health Questionnaire 9, the MDRS showed similar detection performance in identifying men who self-reported psychological distress, psychological disorders, depression, psychotherapy usage, or usage of psychopharmacological therapy.
Conclusions
The German version of the MDRS shows good psychometric validity and represents a valid screening instrument for the identification of psychological distress specifically in men

Muscarinic receptor subtypes and signalling involved in the attenuation of isoprenaline-induced rat urinary bladder relaxation
β-Adrenoceptors are important mediators of smooth muscle relaxation in the urinary bladder, but the concomitant presence of a muscarinic agonist, e.g., carbachol, can attenuate relaxation responses by reducing potency and/or efficacy of β-adrenoceptor agonists such as isoprenaline. Therefore, the present study was designed to explore the subtypes and signalling pathways of muscarinic receptors involved in the attenuation of isoprenaline-induced isolated rat detrusor preparations using novel subtype-selective receptor ligands. In radioligand binding studies, we characterized BZI to be a M3-sparing muscarinic agonist, providing selective M2 stimulation in rat bladder, and THRX-182087 as a highly M2-selective antagonist. The use of BZI and of THRX-182087 in the presence of carbachol enabled experimental conditions with a selective stimulation of only M2 or M3 receptors, respectively. Confirming previous findings, carbachol attenuated isoprenaline-induced detrusor relaxation. M2-selective stimulation partly mimicked this attenuation, indicating that both M2 and M3 receptors are involved. During M3-selective stimulation, the attenuation of isoprenaline responses was reduced by the phospholipase C inhibitor U 73,122 but not by the protein kinase C inhibitor chelerythrine. We conclude that both M2 and M3 receptors contribute to attenuation of β-adrenoceptor-mediated relaxation of rat urinary bladder; the signal transduction pathway involved in the M3 component of this attenuation differs from that mediating direct contractile effects of M3 receptors
Status loss due to COVID-19, traditional masculinity, and their association with recent suicide attempts and suicidal ideation
The COVID-19 pandemic is causing extensive job loss leading to a loss of social status in many men. Endorsement of traditional masculinity ideology may render some men particularly sensitive to status loss and thereby to an increased risk for suicidality. In this anonymous online survey conducted in German-speaking European countries, 490 men completed questionnaires regarding loss of social status due to the COVID-19 pandemic, past-month and lifetime suicide attempt and suicidal ideation. Furthermore, endorsement of traditional masculinity ideology and prototypical and male-typical externalizing depression symptoms were measured. Out of a total of 490 men, 14.7% of men reported experiencing status loss due to the pandemic. These men were more than four times as likely to have attempted suicide in the past month (OR = 4.48, 95% CI [1.72, 11.67]) and more than twice as likely to report suicidal ideation during the past 2 weeks (OR = 2.47, 95% CI [1.42, 4.28]), than men not reporting status loss. Status loss, but not endorsement of traditional masculinity ideology, was associated with suicide outcomes. However, when male-typical externalizing depression symptoms and prototypical depression symptoms were included in the models, they exhibited the only direct associations with suicide outcomes (e.g., for past-month suicide attempt: male-typical externalizing depression symptoms OR = 2.18, 95% CI [1.31, 3.62], prototypical depression symptoms OR = 2.41, 95% CI [1.13, 5.12]). A significant interaction between status loss and endorsement of traditional masculinity ideology further suggests an enhancing moderating effect of traditional masculinity on the relationship between status loss and past-month suicide attempts (OR = 3.27, 95% CI [1.16, 9.27]). Status loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic emerges as risk factor for suicide in men. Men who experience status loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic while concomitantly exhibiting strong endorsement of traditional masculinity ideology have an additional increased risk of suicide

Surface modification of Ti-6Al-4V alloy for biomineralization and specific biological response: Part II, Alkaline phosphatase grafting
Titanium and its alloys are the most widespread
materials for the realization of orthopaedic and dental implants due to their good mechanical properties and biocompatibility.
Surface functionalization of biomaterials
aimed to improve and quicken implant integration and tissue regeneration is an active research field. The opportunity
to confer biological activity (ability to directly stimulate cells with proper biological signals) to the Ti6Al4 V alloy, previously modified to be bioactive from
the inorganic point of view (apatite precipitation), was explored in this research work. The alkaline phosphatase
(ALP) enzyme was grafted to metal surface via tresyl chloride activation, maintaining its activity. A synergistic effect between biological functionalization and inorganic
bioactivity was observed
Handling the Background in IXPE Polarimetric Data
Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) is a Small Explorer mission by NASA and Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, launched on 2021 December 9, dedicated to investigating X-ray polarimetry allowing angular-, time-, and energy-resolved observations in the 2-8 keV energy band. IXPE is in the science observation phase since 2022 January; it is comprised of three identical telescopes with grazing-incidence mirrors, each one having in the focal plane a gas pixel detector. In this paper, we present a possible guideline to obtain an optimal background selection in polarimetric analysis, and a rejection strategy to remove instrumental background. This work is based on the analysis of IXPE observations, aiming to improve as much as possible the polarimetric sensitivity. In particular, the developed strategies have been applied as a case study to the IXPE observation of the 4U 0142+61 magnetar
