Determination of K shell absorption parameters for some lanthanides using the X-ray attenuation method
Durak, Ridvan/0000-0002-3935-176X; DURAK, RIDVAN/0000-0002-3935-176X; Akman, Ferdi/0000-0002-8838-1762WOS: 000367613700014The total attenuation cross section at the K edge, absorption jump ratio, jump factor, Davisson-Kirchner ratio, and oscillator strength parameters for the K shell were determined by measuring the total attenuation cross sections around the K edge for Pr, Nd2O3, and Sm. The measurements were performed in a secondary excitation geometry using the K alpha(2), K alpha(1), K beta(1), and K beta(2) X-rays (in the region from 31.817 to 55.293 keV) from different secondary source targets excited by the 59.54 keV gamma-photons from an Am-241 annular source. It is the first time that the Davisson-Kirchner ratio values have been determined for present samples. The experimental results were compared with the theoretically calculated and other available experimental results.Ataturk UniversityAtaturk University [2011/82]This work was done with the support of the Ataturk University Research Fund under project No. 2011/82
Determination of L X-ray fluorescence parameters for Ho, Lu, W, Hg and Bi
In this work, L X-ray fluorescence cross sections, L sub-shell fluorescence yields and level widths and radiative vacancy transfer probabilities of L sub-shells to Mi, Ni and Oi sub-shells were measured for the elements Ho, Lu, W, Hg and Bi. Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) technique was used to measure L X-ray photons. To obtain related parameters, we used 59.54keV gamma photons of 241Am radioactive point source. Emitted L X-ray photons from targets were collected by means of a Si(Li) detector with resolution of 180eV at 5.9keV. The present results are generally in a good agreement with theoretical calculations and the other results obtained in the literature, within their range considering experimental uncertainty

Measurements of K X-ray fluorescence cross-sections, fluorescence yields, level widths and radiative vacancy transition probabilities for the elements Zr, Mo, Cd, Er at 59.54 keV
1st International Conference on Material Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing Technology ((MEAMT) -- AUG 25-27, 2017 -- Busan, SOUTH KOREADURAK, RIDVAN/0000-0002-3935-176X; Akman, Ferdi/0000-0002-8838-1762WOS: 000426772700015K shell X ray fluorescence cross sections, fluorescence yields, level widths and radiative vacancy transition probabilities were investigated for the elements Zr, Mo, Cd, Er. The measurements were performed using photons of 59.54 keV emitted from an Am-241 (about 100 mCi) point source and a high resolution Si(Li) detector. The experimental results were compared with theoretical calculations and the other results obtained from literature
Determination of some fluorescence parameters of L sub-shells for Th and U at 59.54 keV photon energy
16th Latin American Conference of Analysis by X-Ray Techniques (SARX) / 6th Conference of Medical Physics in the Frontier (JFMF) -- NOV 04-07, 2018 -- Pucon, PEOPLES R CHINAWOS: 000518705200005PubMed: 31889681The L X-ray fluorescence cross-sections at 59.54 keV, L sub-shell fluorescence and Auger yields, L sub-shell level widths, life times and some selected radiative transfer probabilities of L to M, N and O sub-shells were determined using Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence for Th and U. The experiments were performed with a Si(Li) detector and an Am-241 radioactive annular source in excitation geometry. The results are in good agreement with other comparable values within experimental uncertainties.Univ Frontera, Ctr Phys & Engn Me
Updated Database for K-Shell Fluorescence Yields
2nd International Conference on Advances in Natural and Applied Sciences (ICANAS) -- APR 18-21, 2017 -- Antalya, TURKEYDURAK, RIDVAN/0000-0002-3935-176X; Akman, Ferdi/0000-0002-8838-1762WOS: 000405093100090This study presents a summary of experimental data of K-shell fluorescence yields (omega(K)) published in the period of time between 2010 to february-2017. The fluorescence yields (omega(K)) of elements in the range 23 <= Z <= 60 taken directly from different sources were reviewed and presented in a table form. Finally, the experimental and empirical values in the literature have been reported and commented.Agri Ibrahim Cecen Univ, IC Fd
