Objective: New Technologies and Innovative Solutions in creating a multimedia corpus of texts about the "Mezen Robinsons" aims to preserve the memory of an event that occurred in the 18th century and to study the history of Spitsbergen development. This article presents a multimedia corpus of Russian-language texts about the "Mezen Robinsons" written in 1766–2022. Observations show that the history of the survival of the Mezen hunters on Edge Island in 1743–1749 has repeatedly attracted the attention of specialists from various fields of knowledge: historians, archaeologists, publicists, professional writers, translators, etc. The corpus unites texts, audio, video, and multimedia resources. Methods: continuous sampling was used to collect the material; when analyzing and describing the data, we applied a descriptive method, a biographical method of studying literature, statistical data processing, philological analysis, observation, assessment, and corpus modeling methods. Findings: the methodology and technology of building an independent multimedia corpus, its architecture, and its design are described. Novelty: the multimedia corpus is a contribution to the development of a new approach to studying the subjectology of Russian literature. Practical significance:the findings can become the basis for studying the biographies and creativity of various authors who built their works on the plot of the Mezen industrialists and for further comparison of various interpretations of one event from the history of the development of the Arctic. Doi: 10.28991/HIJ-2023-04-01-07 Full Text: PD

The paper aims to describe the results of the application of IT technologies for the analysis of fiction text in the context of the ubiquitous digitalisation of education. The aim of the paper is to develop an understanding of the functionality and value of Voyant Tools as a potential research tool. The authors present their own approach to the implementation of Voyant Tools in the process of analysing a fiction text remote in time from the modern reader. The toolkit has been applied to the analysis of an 18th-century fiction text. Its author is the French academic P.L. Le Roy, the book "Adventures of four Russian sailors to the island of Spitsbergen brought by a storm, where they lived for six years and three months" (1766). The text was chosen because of its detective history in Russia and the participation of famous historical figures in the storey. Among them were Empress Elizabeth, M.V. Lomonosov, Empress Catherine, Count P.I. Shuvalov, S.S. Vernizober, the manager of the fur-fishing industry in Arkhangelsk, and shipowner A. Kornilov, etc. There are comparatively few special studies related to this text. Attracting a modern IT-tool to work with the text leads: first, to activation of reader's attention to the work, second, to mastering of ICT-competences within the school course "Native (Russian) literature", third, allows making interesting observations on the text regarding the characteristics of the writer's world picture, key words and images in his style, fourth, visualizes information in the form of generating "word cloud", text concordance, graphing the contextual relationships of words, showing relevant text features

Objective: to analyze the psychological and psychophysiological features of effective volleyball play. Materials and methods: the study involved 19 female athlets with average age of 17±1 years. The study was conducted during the pre-competition period. Personality traits, sport motivation, coping strategies, emotional burnout, skills of mental training and visualization, were assessed by adapted Russian-language versions of questionnaires «Freiburg multi-factor personal questionnaire (FPI)», «Sport motivation scale (SMS)», «The Sport Imagery Questionnaire (SIQ)», «Strategic Approach to Coping Scale (SACS)», «Maslach burnout inventory». The levels of chronic and acute stress were assessed by «Acute and chronic stress scale». Attentional set-shifting, concentration of attention were examined by the Munsterberg test and the «Entangled lines» test. The speed and stability of sensorimotor functioning were assessed by Simple Reaction Time test and Choice Reaction Time test. Stress load was simulated by the game-biofeedback approach to examine the effectiveness of self-regulation. The obtained data were compared with the assessment of athletes’ gaming efficiency. Results: Revealed significant connection between game effectiveness and the reduced level of stress: high speed, reaction stability, internal motivation, decreased neuroticity, depressiveness, aggressiveness, emotional lability, developed skills of self-regulation, visualization and ideomotor training are discussed. Conclusions: Revealed psychological and psychophysiological features might be considered as components of the young female volleyball players’ model psychophysiological state

The Master's thesis analyses the types of state pensions and the problems of legal regulation of these pensions. In the first part of the thesis, analysing the concept of social security and the components of the social security system, we have found out that state pensions (special benefits) are one of the elements of social security that do not receive as much attention as social insurance and social assistance. In the second part of the paper, we have analysed the national legislation of the Republic of Lithuania and the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court to find out what kind of benefits are covered by the concept of state pensions. State pensions include: state pensions of the first and second degree, the state pension of injured persons, the state pension of soldiers and officers, the state pension of judges, the state pension of scientists and the state pension of the spouse of the President of the Republic of Lithuania. The examination of each of the state pensions revealed gaps in the legal regulation, violations of the law, such as violations of the Constitutional principles of equality, equal treatment and non-discrimination of persons and their origins. The third part of the Master's thesis presented the problems and shortcomings of the state pension system of the Republic of Lithuania as a whole, as well as a comparison of state pensions with each other, as a result of which the fundamental problem of the state pension system became apparent

Nowadays corruption is one of the most actual global problems. International cooperation in this sphere can increase efficiency of the struggle against corruption globally. There are many international organizations (including OECD, GRECO, World Bank, etc.), which pay sufficient attention to anti-corruption struggle. However, legal mechanisms often govern the process of anti-corruption struggle ambiguously. The article analyses functioning and cooperation of international worldwide organizations in the struggle against corruption. The authors review the system of international anti-corruption organizations and  perspectives of modern international legal cooperation in this field. The article examines practical activity of the organizations and their current documents, initiatives and programs. Regional peculiarities of anti-corruption struggle are highlighted as well. The necessity to develop and strengthen cooperation between all states in anti-corruption struggle throughout the world is emphasized in the article. The authors conclude that the current stage of global struggle against corruption does not embrace all possible ways and in the nearest future the international community is to develop international legal anti-corruption instruments

Degradation of Antibiotic Vancomycin by UV Photolysis and Pulsed Corona Discharge Combined with Extrinsic Oxidants

    No full text
Antibiotics are the most frequently detected pharmaceuticals in the environment creating conditions for the development of resistant genes in bacteria. Degradation and mineralization of glycopeptide antibiotic vancomycin (VMN) were examined by UV photolysis, pulsed corona discharge (PCD), and their combinations with extrinsic oxidants, hydrogen peroxide (HP), peroxydisulfate (PDS), and peroxymonosulfate (PMS). Both combinations were effective in VMN degradation and faster at pH 11 than in acidic or neutral media. Combined with the UV photolysis, HP showed a higher oxidation rate than other oxidants, whereas PMS and PDS proved to be more efficient in combinations with PCD. In contrast to low-to-moderate mineralization of VMN in the UV/oxidant combinations, PCD and PCD/oxidant combinations appeared to be more effective, reaching up to 90% of TOC removal in acidic/neutral solutions. Application of extrinsic oxidants resulted in an energy efficiency of VMN 90% oxidation improved from 36 to 61 g kW−1 h−1 in HP-assisted photolysis, and from 195 to 250 g kW−1 h−1 in PCD with additions of HP and PDS, thus showing the promising character of the combined treatment.peerReviewe

The oxidation of antibiotic vancomycin (VAN), antidiabetic metformin (MET), and anti-inflammatory dexamethasone (DEX) was studied using a combined pulsed corona discharge (PCD) and persulfate (PS) system. The effect of the dose of persulfate on the degradation rate, the degree of mineralization, and the energy efficiency of the target pharmaceuticals oxidation was evaluated. Irrespective of the target compound studied, the addition of moderate persulfate doses resulted in a noticeable improvement in oxidation efficiency compared to non-assisted PCD process. For all pharmaceuticals examined, with minor exception for DEX showing negligible improvement, an increase of the dose of persulfate in the PCD/PS combination resulted in a substantial increase in the observed degradation rate. The findings of this study strongly suggest that the combined PCD/PS oxidation is a promising treatment technology for water purification from aqueous pharmaceutical contamination
