Tilad a live-action short feature on the relationship and communication among today\u27s youth over the internet

Tilad is a short feature about a young man and a young woman who have been meeting sporadically on the Internet. Having not met each other personally, and completely unaware of each other\u27s true identities, they nevertheless take into each other\u27s company consoling themselves with small and other trivial matters. That all changed, however, when the young man, who is quite curious of his chat mates background, asks the young woman to detail her personal life to him. Not wanting to paint a poor image of her true self, she elaborates a huge lie about her life at home, painting a mental portrait of a perfect family to her inquirer. Tilad is a character study on the behavior and cunning of the youth collective known as Generation Me, as they use the medium they were raised on either as an outlet, something for their advantage, or both. These individuals are notorious for having the need to look good in the eyes of their peers, as they crave for attention and praise. This feature also reflects on how family life plays an important part in the child\u27s development, especially now in this period where disaffected youngsters increasingly pressure themselves into being accepted by society due to the arrival of social media

Observing multilateral trade agreements as a determinant of modern service exports: The case of Asia

Modern Service Exports have been an interest in the literature for its higher value-added in contrast to Manufacturing and Traditional Service Exports. This is likewise the case to its impact on economic development and its relationship with determinants for its growth. These determinants of export growth include changes to real exchange rates, specialization, and foreign direct investments. The goal of this study is to introduce Multilateral Trade Agreements (MTAs) as a determinant. There exists a research gap on its relationship and impact on Modern Services Exports. This is observed with the aid of datasets from the World Development Indicators and UN Conference on Trade and Development which covers 50 economies and 30+ year periods, but only 37 economies over a 25-year period are analyzed to limit misspecification caused by the incomplete data. Panel Regression methods such as Pooled, Fixed Effects and Random Effects are considered and evaluated on how to best observe the impact of MTA membership. In addition, this study attempts to extend this to compare the impact of MTAs between developed and developing economies. The findings of this study provided evidence to suggest that MTAs negatively affect an economy\u27s MSEs, similarly being in the position of a developed economy places another penalty

The Corley lab director asked us to design and build a shelf for the robotics lab to help store parts and help organize the lab. The group decided on an electronic vertical rotating shelf design consisting of groups of bins on shelves. The unit is able to store and sort through thousands of pounds of parts and keep track of them using an computerized inventory system to streamline the operator’s workflow and improve efficiency

Timeliness of childhood vaccinations in the Philippines.

Timeliness of vaccinations is rarely part of monitoring in a routine immunization program. We reviewed infant immunization and conducted caregiver interviews in three regions in the Philippines from January to October 2016. We randomly selected thirty public health centers, one for each region. We defined timeliness of the receipt of antigen as within 4 weeks after the recommended age at vaccination. We assessed a total of 986 infants for timeliness of vaccination. The median age of receipt of vaccine was at 2.7 weeks (BCG), 10.1 weeks (Penta 1), and 21.7 weeks (Penta 3) compared to the recommended 0, 6, and 14 weeks of age, respectively. We found timely receipt only in 74.4% for BCG, 70.3% for Penta 1, and 39.1% for Penta 3 recipients. Thus, alongside declining immunization coverage, the infants in the Philippines had substantial delays in vaccine receipt
