We present a platform for integrated CAD/CAPP part design based on Elementary Machining Features (EMF) and intelligent approach for setup planning and operation sequencing based on a genetic algorithm through two papers. In this paper, as Part II of this platform, CAD/CAPP integration was realized via information from the enriched EMF, as well as production rules and a genetic algorithm. This is done for the purpose of the automated machining operation sequencing. Operation sequencing was conducted by using the improved genetic algorithm (GA).The improved GA uses integer representation for operations and implements modified genetic operators, enabling the achievement of high results in a reasonable computational time. In the paper we present a comprehensive case study applied to some existing and one new industrial example, confirming a high level of usability of the proposed GA and overall platform. Experimental results show that the improved GA algorithm gives slightly better results than similar algorithms in literature. For industrial example, we use body of the hydraulics cylinder which consists of 52 EMF. After implementation of the proposed methodology, the optimal machining operation sequence was identified, as well as the total machining cost of 142.49 BAM

An increase of hydro-aggregate's installed power and efficiency factor before the revitalization phase

The revitalization of hydro-aggregates should be performed before the life-time expiry of most their parts. But, as in our practice aggregates have been under exploitation much longer then theoretical life-time advices (40, even 50 years), there is a need to estimate the equipment's condition through more sophisticated monitoring, providing the maximum level of safety and availability with minimum investment expenses, before the revitalization finally takes place. That estimation is based on appropriating calculations and measurements needed to take the competent decision. Results of that analysis can be also useful for estimation of the aggregate's power and parameters after the revitalization. In this paper the results of appropriate calculations and measurements for the Hydropower station HE Zvornik are given

Human resources management in the business system for the production, processing and turnover of agricultural products

Employees with their talents, knowledge, skills, motivations, creativity and development potentials are the key and most important resource of any company that creates its competitive edge in a global business environment in which technology and information are generally available. Employees are the most powerful and the most expensive resource, so managing them must be long-term and strategically thought-out. They should be managed in a wise, rational and humane way, including all the steps, i.e., human resources processes (planning, demand, recruitment, selection, socialization, career guidance programs, payroll and reward systems, employment relations and collective bargaining, trade union organization of employees, their health, safety, welfare, criminal and appeal procedure as well as directions for the improvement of human resources management. It determines whether and to what extent the theoretical knowledge and the practical application of this phenomenon coincide

What Are the Effects of Meteorological Factors on Exacerbations of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease?

    No full text
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the greatest global public health challenges. Acute exacerbations of COPD lead to the accelerated deterioration of lung function, reduced quality of life, a higher number of hospitalizations, and increased mortality. The factor causing the exacerbation is usually an infectious agent, but the impact of environmental factors is being studied more thoroughly. Among them, meteorological factors are the least examined. Multiple studies have shown that lower temperatures during the cold season, as well as sudden temperature changes regardless of the season, have the most significant negative effect on patients with COPD. However, higher temperatures, especially during summer heatwaves, can also cause COPD exacerbation and it is expected that this will be an even more important health problem in the future considering climate changes. The effects of other meteorological factors on acute exacerbation of COPD, such as atmospheric pressure, solar radiation, rainfall, wind speed, and humidity are far less investigated and opposing results have been obtained in different studies. Thus, there is a need for further research in this area that would result in clinical recommendations and public health interventions that could decrease the global burden of COPD
