The Pharmaceutical evaluation of Draksharishta
In the field of Bhaishjya Kalpana, Sandhana Kalpas are regarded as very important due to their long self life, better absorption and efficacy. Process of Sandhana Kalpana should be carefully carried out with strict monitoring to avoid various problems that can be encountered during preparations. Draksharista is a popularly used preparation in the clinical practice. It is referred in various books and five such references are studied and compared here in order to get an idea, regarding the pharmaceutical and analytical aspects of them. Differences in the type and amount of sweetening substances, usage of fermentation initiator and minor variation in the ingredients make the study interesting to compare them. Less amount of sweetening substance initiated early fermentation and completion. This fact strongly suggests the importance of adding sweetening substances in small portions, when its quantity is very high in the preparation
Pharmaceutical evaluation of Haridra Khanda tablet
Haridra Khanda is unique classical formulation indicated in Udarda, Shitapitta, Kotha. (Urticarial rashes) Khanda or Granules are a comparatively unusual means of administering drugs that possess an unpleasant taste. Haridra Khanda is classical Ayurvedic medicine and available market. Keeping the issue of palatability and invention of patient friendly dosage form in mind, the efforts was made for preparation of tablet out of classical Ayurvedic formulation - Haridra Khanda. The preparation of Haridra Khanda granules were made by standard operative procedure.Binding agents were added to Haridra Khanda . Haridra Khanda was added to mass mixer to ensure homogeneity and easy mixing of all binding agents. And later this mixture was subjected to single punch tablet machine for preparation of 1000 mg tablet. All the Analytical parameters were passed by the Haridra Khanda tablets. Physician can prescribed the tablets to the patients which feel the powdered dosage uncomfortable. Depending on the Roga and Rogibala, tablets of various sizes can be punched and used clinically. This can work more efficiently in pediatric practice

Narsimha Ghrita - a Sneha Kalpana is a famous formulation, indicated in Khalitya, Palitya as well used as Vajikarana and Rasayana. Preparation of Apamarga Pratisaraneeya Kshara and its Physico-chemical Analysis
Introduction: Kshara is described in Anuyantras and Anushastras according to Acharya Sushruta. It is considered to be Pradhana among Shashtra and Anushashtra because of its Chedana, Bhedana, Lekhana property, as well as it is said to be Tridoshaghna and used for the special procedures. Pratisaraneya Kshara is been indicated externally for various disorders such as Arsha, Bhagandara, Kilasa. Materials and Methods: Pratisaraneeya Kshara with the drug Apamarga is prepared as per Acharya Sushruta’s description with 12 kg of Apamarga Panchanga. Results: Physico-chemical analysis: iron as Fe - 0.043%, sodium- 0.63%, potassium - 9.19%, ph value - 13.88, acid insoluble ash - 9.69%, loss on drying at 110 degree c - 64.24%, total ash - 47.03%, colour - white. Discussion: Physicochemical analysis shows ph value as alkaline, amount of insoluble ash, iron, sodium and potassium. Conclusion: The method of preparation of Pratisaraneeya Kshara holds good even for today’s era and can be considerd as standard protocol for Teekshana Pratisaraneeya Apamarga Kshara

Gada Nigraha is very well known ancient text of Ayurveda. It acquaints us with many indispensable formulations. Many of these formulations are unfathomed. Eminently many Asava Arishtas mentioned by Acharya are very unique in their method of preparation like Gugguluvasava, Tambulasava, Kushmandasava, Gandikadronasava, Narikelasava etc. here an effort is made to accentuate these formulations with intention of carrying further exploration in this regard
