    The success of international companies in providing high quality products and outstanding services is subject, on the one hand, to the increasing dynamic of the economic environment and on the other hand to the adoption of worldwide quality standards and procedures. As market place is becoming more and more global, products and services offered worldwide by international companies must face the multi-cultural environment challenges. These challenges manifest themselves not only at customer relationship level but also deep inside companies, at employee level. Important support in facing all these challenges has been provided at cognitive level by management system models and at technological level by information cutting edge technologies Business Intelligence & Knowledge Management Business Intelligence is already delivering its promised outcomes at internal business environment and, with the explosive deployment of public data bases, expand its analytical power at national, regional and international level. Quantitative measures of economic environment, wherever available, may be captured and integrated in companiesā€™ routine analysis. As for qualitative data, some effort is still to be done in order to integrate measures of social, political, legal, natural and technological environment in companiesā€™ strategic analysis. An increased difficulty is found in treating cultural differences, common knowledge making the most hidden part of any foreign environment. Managing cultural knowledge is crucial to success in cultivating and maintaining long-term business relationships in multicultural environments. Knowledge Management provides the long needed technological support for cross-cultural management in the tedious task of improving knowledge sharing in multi-national companies and using knowledge effectively in international joint ventures.     The Relationship Between the Environmental Tax Revenues and the Greenhouse Gas Emission in Romania

    In order to meet the Paris Agreement target, mankind must reduce greenhouse gas emissions to unprecedented levels by 2030. Major global shifts towards a low-carbon economy and transformations of financial systems in each country are expected, changing new financial structures and processes, involving national governments, central and commercial banks, investors and financial actors. Romania has among the lowest environmental tax revenues as a percentage of GDP, according to Eurostat, and energy taxes are the most important category of environmental taxes, followed by transport taxes, pollution and resource exploitation taxes, etc. In this paper we aim to see the relationship between environmental tax revenues and greenhouse gas emissions in Romania, using correlation and regression analysis. The results of the study validate the main hypothesis, that is a strong inverse significant relationship between the two variables analysed and serve as a basis for further research on environmental taxes and charges in a given country (their amount and percentage of the country's GDP) and the evolution of greenhouse gas emissions (progress towards their reduction)

    Mapping the Supply Chain Digitalization: An Exploratory Bibliometric Analysis

    In a global business environment facing more and more risks (recession risk, geo-economic risk, natural risks) digitalization can represent a solution for increasing resilience at the level of the supply chain. The development of new technologies has created the premises for the transformation of traditional logistics chains into digital logistics chains and the pandemic crisis accelerated the process for most companies and institutions. The scope of this paper is identifying the interest in researching the subject of supply chain digitalization. The study is based on a quantitative research method, bibliometric analysis. A query was conducted on the Scopus platform database to identify scientific works (research articles, books, papers presented at conferences) that include keywords specific to our topic, in the title, abstract or body. The results of our study confirm a growing scientific interest for researching the topic of supply chain digitization: from 2002 to February 2023, 913 documents addressing this subject or related issues were identified

    A Contemporaneous Statistical Note on E-Commerce Adoption in Romania ā€“ Based SMEs

    During the recent period, the scientific literature has highlighted the role of E-commerce in business development and growth. In this article we revisit the specifics of E-commerce adoption, focusing on the case of Romanian SMEs. Using the online questionnaire survey method and the principal component analysis, we draw a comprehensive picture of Romanian SMEs with E-commerce activities, with reference to the determinants and barriers of E-commerce adoption, benefits emerged with the use of E-commerce and main problems in the E-commerce development. We find that the main factor determining Ecommerce adoption is the perceived relative advantage brought by E-commerce activities pointing to higher productivity and efficiency inside the company, while the major barrier is the lack of compatibility between E-commerce activities and the SMEā€™s way of doing business, and not the costs, as initially expected. The low competitiveness of the business environment has an important role in deterring E-commerce activity. We conclude that the launch of information campaigns for enhancing familiarity with E-commerce practices for increasing confidence in E-commerce activities for both SMEs managers and their clients is among the most effective measures for intensifying E-commerce activity in Romani

    Using best practices in designing a lifelong learning strategy for human resources in Romania

    Starting from the understanding that society as a whole can not move forward without sufficient incentives, we initiated this research aiming to identify good practices in formulating strategies on lifelong learning in order to emphasize the need to create a stable framework for the development and training of human resources. Considering that in the last decade there has been a growing desire among higher education graduates to study abroad after their mobility period and showed the willingness to engage in the labor market in other european countries, we think that the proposed research theme fully justify its relevance, in terms of the need to create medium and long term strategies in order to ensure compliance with the next european regulations framework and a set of elements that have the capacity to regain the qualified romanian human resources employed abroad. Without a european workforce that is able to respond promptly to training tasks throughout life, Romania and after that Europe will not gain the skills needed to achieve an competitive advantage among other world economies. In this respect, we think that the present theme is sufficiently anchored in the realities of our contemporary society on the one hand and on the other hand requires to identify the concrete measures that could be put in place in order to improve the issues presented

In order to ensure success in the transformation process of a companyā€™s management, leaders need to take into account certain factors that will help the company gain competitive advantage. The ability of companies to adapt, start or implement a change will depend to a large extent on the human resources and skills, attitudes and knowledge they hold. So change is an essential component of the evolution process of companies that put effort, time and resources into implementing an advantageous strategy, but, on the other hand, transformation can be the decay of an organization. For such a strategy, managers need to balance all relevant aspects of the organization and the outside, so that they can position themselves to the current realities of the business environment.     When we mention social inclusion, most of us think of political participation, social rights, civil liberties, equal access to race, ethnicity and gender, access to social services and the labour market, basically to a broader concept than social development. Social inclusion is a concept that can actually be defined, which means it can probably be measured. On this basis, a continuous effort is being made to measure the social inclusion elements, so the results can be used to build new indicators that help measure the multiple dimensions of social inclusion: The Social Inclusion Index, the Human Opportunity Index. This paper presents the development, based on multivariate data analysis techniques and methods, of an aggregated indicator of social inclusion for the member countries of the European Union which, besides the traditional variables (GDP), also measures the factors related to civil and political rights, womenā€™s rights or perception of the LGBT community.
