Abstract. In active noise control filter, IIR filter structure which used for control filter assures the stability property. The stability characteristics of IIR filter structure is mainly determined by pole location of control filter within unit disc, so stable selection of the value of control filter coefficient is very important. In this paper, we proposed novel adaptive stabilized Filtered_U LMS algorithms with IIR filter structure which has better convergence speed and less computational burden than conventional FIR structures, for multi-channel active noise control with vehicle enclosure signal case. For better convergence speed in adaptive algorithms, fuzzy LMS algorithms where convergence coefficient computed by a fuzzy PI type controller was proposed. Multi-channel Active Noise control systems Unwanted acoustic noise problems become more and more evident as increased numbers of large industrial equipment such as engines, blowers, fans, transformers, and compressors are in use. Mechanical vibration is another related type of noise that commonly creates problems in all areas of transportation and manufacturing, as well as many household appliances. The traditional approach to acoustic noise control use passive techniques such as enclosures, barriers, and silencers to attenuate the undesired noise. These passive silencers are valued for their high attenuation over broad frequency range, but they are relatively large, costly, and ineffective at low frequencies. The attenuation of passive silencers is low when the acoustic wavelength is large compared to the silencer dimensions, such as body length or lining thickness. ANC systems utilizing a microphone and an electronically driven loud speaker to generate a canceling sound was first proposed in a 1936 patent by Lueg In active noise control filter, IIR filter structure which used for control filter assures the stability property. BACKGROUND: Cysteine-rich 61 (Cyr61), a member of the CCN protein family, possesses diverse functionality in cellular processes such as adhesion, migration, proliferation, and survival. Cyr61 can also function as an oncogene or a tumour suppressor, depending on the origin of the cancer. Only a few studies have reported Cyr61 expression in colorectal cancer. In this study, we assessed the Cyr61 expression in 251 colorectal cancers with clinical follow up. METHODS: We examined Cyr61 expression in 6 colorectal cancer cell lines (HT29, Colo205, Lovo, HCT116, SW480, SW620) and 20 sets of paired normal and colorectal cancer tissues by western blot. To validate the association of Cyr61 expression with clinicopathological parameters, we assessed Cyr61 expression using tissue microarray analysis of primary colorectal cancer by immunohistochemical analysis. RESULTS: We verified that all of the cancer cell lines expressed Cyr61; 2 cell lines (HT29 and Colo205) demonstrated Cyr61 expression to a slight extent, while 4 cell lines (Lovo, HCT116, SW480, SW620) demonstrated greater Cyr61 expression than HT29 and Colo205 cell lines. Among the 20 cases of paired normal and tumour tissues, greater Cyr61 expression was observed in 16 (80%) tumour tissues than in normal tissues. Furthermore, 157 out of 251 cases (62.5%) of colorectal cancer examined in this study displayed strong Cyr61 expression. Cyr61 expression was found to be associated with pN (p = 0.018). Moreover, Cyr61 expression was associated with statistically significant cancer-specific mortality (p = 0.029). The duration of survival was significantly lesser in patients with Cyr61 high expression than in patients with Cyr61 low expression (p = 0.001). These results suggest that Cyr61 expression plays several important roles in carcinogenesis and may also be a good prognostic marker for colorectal cancer. CONCLUSIONS: Our data confirmed that Cyr61 was expressed in colorectal cancers and the expression was correlated with worse prognosis of colorectal cancers

© 2022 The Author(s)Cilia are important for the interaction with environments and the proper function of tissues. While the basic structure of cilia is well conserved, ciliated cells have various functions. To understand the distinctive identities of ciliated cells, the identification of cell-specific proteins and its regulation is essential. Here, we report the mechanism that confers a specific identity on IL2 neurons in Caenorhabditis elegans, neurons important for the dauer larva-specific nictation behavior. We show that DAF-19M, an isoform of the sole C. elegans RFX transcription factor DAF-19, heads a regulatory subroutine, regulating target genes through an X-box motif variant under the control of terminal selector proteins UNC-86 and CFI-1 in IL2 neurons. Considering the conservation of DAF-19M module in IL2 neurons for nictation and in male-specific neurons for mating behavior, we propose the existence of an evolutionarily adaptable, hard-wired genetic module for distinct behaviors that share the feature “recognizing the environment.”N

Low Power Switching Characteristics of CNT Field Effect Transistor Device with Al-Doped ZrHfO2 Gate Dielectric

In this report, we demonstrated a reliable switching effect of carbon nanotube (CNT) field-effect transistor (FET) devices integrated with 99% semiconducting CNT as a channel and high-k oxide as the dielectric. CNT FET devices with high-k oxides of Al-ZrHfO2 and Al2O3 were electrically characterized and compared. There was no considerable hysteresis in the Al2O3-based CNT FET device. The Al-ZrHfO2 with a tetragonal phase-based high dielectric constant (~47), designed by an atomic layer deposition process, showed a reliable switching effect as well as low operation voltage (<±3 V). Charge trapping/detrapping process via oxygen vacancy-related defects of Al-ZrHfO2 was proposed as a primary mechanism to explain a current change of a counterclockwise direction and threshold voltage (Vth) shift for transfer properties. The suggested charge trapping model within bulk oxide was experimentally proven since the hysteresis from the adsorption/desorption of gas molecules to CNT surface was negligible. Endurance characteristics of the CNT switching devices remained stable without any serious current fluctuation during a repetitive cycling test. The memory device with reliable switching properties as well as low operation power would pave a road toward next-generation memory components of portable electronic gadgets

Tumor grading of soft tissue sarcomas: Assessment with whole-tumor histogram analysis of apparent diffusion coefficient

Purpose: To evaluate the usefulness of whole-tumor ADC histogram analysis based on entire tumor volume in determining the histologic grade of STS (soft tissue sarcoma)s. Methods: From January 2015 to December 2020, 53 patients with STS who underwent preoperative magnetic resonance imaging, including diffusion weighted imaging and ADC maps (b = 0 and 1400 s/mm(2)), within 1 month before surgical resection were included in the study. Regions of interest were drawn on every section of the ADC map containing tumor and were summated to derive volume-based histogram data of the entire tumor. Histogram parameters were correlated with histologic tumor grade using Kruskal-Wallis test and compared between high-(grade II and III) and low-grade STSs (grade I) using Mann-Whitney U test. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was applied to identify significant histogram parameters for high-grade STS prediction, and receiver operating characteristic curves (AUC) were constructed to determine optimum threshold. Results: Eight patients with low-grade STS (15.1%) and 45 with high-grade STS (26.4% [14/53] for grade II; 58.5% [31/53] for grade III) were included. High-grade STS showed positive skewness and low-grade STS showed negative skewness (0.503 vs -0.726, p=.001). High-grade STS showed lower mean ADC (p =.03) and 5th to 50th percentile values (p <=. 03) than those of low-grade STS. Positive skewness was an independent predictor of high-grade STS (odds ratio: 6.704, p=.002) with 84.4% sensitivity and 87.5% specificity (cut-off values > -0.1757, AUC = 0.842). Conclusion: Skewness is the most promising histogram parameter for discriminating high-grade from low-grade STS. The mean ADC values and lower half of percentile values are helpful for differentiating high from low-grade STSs.N

High Expression of Tetraspanin 5 as a Prognostic Marker of Colorectal Cancer

Cancer is a major disease and the leading cause of death worldwide, with colorectal cancer (CRC) being the third-most common cancer in Korea. The survival rate associated with CRC reduces as the disease stage increases. Therefore, its early detection and treatment can greatly increase patient survival rates. In this study, we identified the tetraspanin 5 (TSPAN5) gene as an important biomarker for predicting the prognosis of patients with CRC. A TMA slide was used for statistical analysis. pN and clinical stage were found to be significant factors according to chi-square analysis, whereas pT, pN, metastasis, clinical stage, and TSPAN5 expression were significant according to Cox regression analysis. In order to prove the usefulness of TSPAN5, which is overexpressed in patients with metastatic CRC, as a biomarker, proliferation, migration, invasion, and tumorigenicity were examined using cell lines inhibited using small interfering RNA. The evaluations confirmed that TSPAN5 suppression, in turn, suppressed proliferation, migration, invasion, and tumorigenesis, which are characteristic of cancer cells. Therefore, the evaluation of TSPAN5 expression may help observe the prognosis of CRC and determine an appropriate treatment method for patients with CRC
