    ABSTRACT Javan gibbon (Hylobates moloch Audebert, 1797) is currently listed as an "endangered species" by IUCN Red List of Threatened Animal. The behaviour of daily activities were studied from November 1994 - January 1995 in a natural forest of Pakenjeng, at Garut forest district area, West Java. Focal animal sampling was used for collecting data. The study showed that this animal spent 24.24 % of its time for feeding, 17.51 % for moving (locomotion), and 58.25 % for resting. There were 38 plant species as its food source including Ficus sp. This tree was the most important one as a resting and sleeping site as well
