Audiological Assessment in Meniere’s Disease
Meniere’s disease is a progressive disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of spontaneous vertigo, sensorineural hearing loss and tinnitus, often with a feeling of fullness in the ear. The exact ethology is not known. In 1972, a diagnostic criterion for Meniere’s disease was proposed by American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), and till date, it has been revised twice in the years 1985 and 1995. The principal audiological investigation is pure tone audiometry combined with a glycerol test. Speech audiometry and otoacoustic emissions also play a limited role. The value of electrocochleography is limited
Effects of Caustic Recovery on Pollution and Cost of Production in a Cotton Textile Industry
Textile manufacturing industry is uses substantial amount of chemicals not only in the production processes but also in manufacturing the raw materials. Chemicals used in textile production are generally classified as commodity chemicals and speciality chemicals. Former are used in Bulk and the later are used in small quantities. Caustic Soda (Sodium Hydroxide) is one of the major chemicals which are used in large quantities for producing cotton textiles. Caustic soda results in highly alkaline wastewater from the textile mills which makes the effluent toxic and poses difficulty in treatment of effluent. This study to assess the impact of caustic recovery from the mercerization plant was conducted in a cotton fabric manufacturing unit. A pilot-scale single effect evaporator was used to concentrate the effluent stream from mercerization process and the changes in the quality of effluent and concentration of caustic lye were studied over a period of one year. In addition to the improvements in the quality of effluent, the study has also focussed on the cost savings in terms of effluent treatment and production due to reuse of the recovered caustic
Diversity oriented one-pot three-component sequential synthesis of annulated benzothiazoloquinazolines
Annulated benzothiazoloquinazolines have been synthesized by a diversity oriented simple and convenient synthesis involving one-pot three-component reaction of substituted 2-aminobenzothiazoles with α-tetralone and aromatic/heteroaromatic aldehydes in ethanol in the presence of catalytic amount of triethylamine. The synthesized compounds have been characterized by their elemental analyses and spectral data
Feature Map Upscaling to Improve Scale Invariance in Convolutional Neural Networks
Efforts made by computer scientists to model the visual system has resulted in various techniques from which the most notable has been the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Whilst the ability to recognise an object in various scales is a trivial task for the human visual system, it remains a challenge for CNNs to achieve the same behaviour. Recent physiological studies reveal the visual system uses global-first response strategy in its recognition function, that is the visual system processes a wider area from a scene for its recognition function. This theory provides the potential for using global features to solve transformation invariance problems in CNNs. In this paper, we use this theory to propose a global-first feature extraction model called Stacked Filter CNN (SFCNN) to improve scale-invariant classification of images. In SFCNN, to extract features from spatially larger areas of the target image, we develop a trainable feature extraction layer called Stacked Filter Convolut ions (SFC). We achieve this by creating a convolution layer with a pyramid of stacked filters of different sizes. When convolved with an input image the outputs are feature maps of different scales which are then upsampled and used as global features. Our results show that by integrating the SFC layer within a CNN structure, the network outperforms traditional CNN on classification of scaled color images. Experiments using benchmark datasets indicate potential effectiveness of our model towards improving scale invariance in CNN networks
BER analysis of DSSS-CDMA using MATLAB
This article gives the details about the modulation and detection of DSSS-CDMA system in a gaussian channel having additive Gaussian noise.Implementation of DSSS transmitter and receiver with two users is done using MATLAB. Finally the bit error rate (BER) of the two detected users is calculated and compared and analysed as the noise power increases
Study of Different Images in Digital image Processing to Make a Coin Recoginition System
The advanced picture preparing manages building up a computerized framework to performs tests and activities on a computerized picture with the utilization of PC calculations. A picture is just a 2D numerical capacity f(x,y) where x and y are two on a level plane and vertically co-ordinates. Money acknowledgment is a standout amongst the most essential uses of picture handling. The cash acknowledgment framework is utilized as a part of numerous situations, for example, bank, business firms, railroads, shopping centers, departmental stores, government association, and so forth. Be that as it may, acknowledgment is done significantly utilizing equipment gadget. Additionally regular man can't think that its achievable to utilize it as equipment. So there is a need to automate the human push to perceive the cash. Think about the case of a bank; it needs to perceive the section from time to time they utilize the gadget which comprise of bright light .The financier keeps the money note on the gadget and endeavor to discover whether the watermark image, serial number and some different qualities of the notes are appropriate to get the category and check its credibility. This expands crafted by the broker. Rather if the financier utilizes the framework and mechanizes his work, the outcome will be considerably more exact. Same is the situation with regions, for example, shopping centers, speculation firms where such frameworks can be utilized. So there is expected to make less demanding approach to perceive the money notes
Enhanced waters 2D muscle model for facial expression generation
In this paper we present an improved Waters facial model used as an avatar for work published in (Kumar
and Vanualailai, 2016), which described a Facial Animation System driven by the Facial Action Coding
System (FACS) in a low-bandwidth video streaming setting. FACS defines 32 single Action Units (AUs) which are generated by an underlying muscle action that interact in different ways to create facial expressions. Because FACS AU describes atomic facial distortions using facial muscles, a face model that can allow AU mappings to be applied directly on the respective muscles is desirable. Hence for this task we choose the Waters anatomy-based face model due to its simplicity and implementation of pseudo muscles. However Waters face model is limited in its ability to create realistic expressions mainly the lack of a function to represent sheet muscles, unrealistic jaw rotation function and improper implementation of sphincter muscles. Therefore in this work we provide enhancements to the Waters facial model by improving its UI, adding sheet muscles, providing an alternative implementation to the jaw rotation function, presenting a new sphincter muscle model that can be used around the eyes and changes to operation of the sphincter muscle used around the mouth
CHOCOLATE FORMULATION AS DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR PEDIATRICS
Chocolate is highly sophisticated and infinitely a versatile food that can be combined to create completely different taste and texture sensations.  The objective of the present study is to develop a palatable chocolate formulation of Domperidone  and Cetirizine for pediatric administration and to increase patient’s desire to consume the medication. In present investigation chocolate base is prepared by use of cocoa powder, coco butter, lecithin, and pharmaceutical grade  sugar. Thereafter drug is incorporated to prepared chocolate base. The medicated chocolate prepared is evaluated for appearance, moisture content determination using digital Karl Fischer titrator, blooming test, drug content determination &  drug excipient interaction by differential scanning calorimetry.Key words: Medicated Chocolate, Pediatrics, Chocolate formulatio
