Panneaux d'une exposition aux Archives municipales de Tours (France) du 18 novembre 2011 au 6 janvier 2012Du 18 novembre 2011 au 6 janvier 2012 s'est tenue aux archives municipales de Tours une exposition sur l'Alimentation à Tours à la fin du Moyen Age. Cette exposition présente en 13 panneaux les différentes aspects de l'alimentation tourangelle aux XIVe et XVe siècle, au travers de données issues des comptes de la villes et des fouilles archéologiques. L'exposition est organisée selon 3 axes : 1 - Contexte (Tours au XVe siècle : Une ville, un siècle ; Les sources, miel des historiens et des archéologues) 2 - Les aliments (Ce que l'on mange ; Ce que l'on boit ; L'approvisionnement de Tours ; Le conditionnement des produits alimentaires) 3 - Alimentation et société (Plats, pots et pichets : la vaisselle ; une alimentation diversifiée ; commercialisation et préparation des denrées ; Tours, une "vache à lait" : alimentation et fiscalité ; Cadeaux alimentaires et pots de vin ; Quand la ville reçoit... PRAP-CVD: A Novel Technique to Deposit Intrinsically Conductive Polymers

Polymers provide extraordinary opportunities for functionalizing surfaces integrated into flexible devices contributing to a significant advancement in thin-film technologies. Both the advantageous characteristics of conventional polymers (e.g. low weight, flexibility) and the functional physical properties of conventional semiconductors (e.g. absorption and emission of light and a tuneable conductivity) can be found in polymers providing innovative materials. Among polymers with heterocyclic structures, called conjugated polymers, polythiophene remains one of the most intensely researched materials in the field of so called organic electronics owing to the relatively facile and well-established synthetic modifications of the corresponding monomers and its derivatives. In particular, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) is one of the most promising owing to its exceptional stability, transparency, and electrical conductivity. Nevertheless it is difficult to process PEDOT into thin-films by traditional solution-based methods. Sie geben über den Ablauf der Rechnungskontrolle einer großen Stadt des französischen Königreichs Aufschluss. Die Kapetinger hatten den Einwohnern ihre Erlaubnis gegeben, eine Mauer zu errichten. Deshalb mussten diese durch Rechnungen die Ernsthaftigkeit ihres Unternehmens nachweisen. Daher schafften die Einwohner eine Rechnungskontrolle mit auferlegter Selbstkontrolle, die aber unter königlicher Kontrolle blieb.The accounts of the city of Tours which have been conserved since the end of the Middle Ages enable us to shed light on the organisation of accounts control in one of the largest cities in the kingdom. Authorized by the king to collect money to provide for their defence, the inhabitants of Tours were obliged to keep accounts and to certify their accuracy. Under the watchful eye of the sovereign, they set up a control system that allowed the community a large leeway.Las cuentas de la ciudad de Tours, conservadas desde fines de la Edad Media, permiten aclarar la organización del control contable de una de las grandes ciudades del reino. Autorizados por el rey a recaudar fondos para costear su defensa, los habitantes de Tours tuvieron que elaborar cuentas y certificar su rigor. A phase I trial of adeno-associated virus serotype 1-γ-sarcoglycan gene therapy for limb girdle muscular dystrophy type 2C

International audienceγ-Sarcoglycanopathy or limb girdle muscular dystrophy type 2C is an untreatable disease caused by autosomal recessively inherited mutations of the γ-sarcoglycan gene. Nine non-ambulatory patients (two males, seven females, mean age 27 years; range 16-38 years) with del525T homozygous mutation of the γ-sarcoglycan gene and no γ-sarcoglycan immunostaining on muscle biopsy were divided into three equal groups to receive three escalating doses of an adeno-associated virus serotype 1 vector expressing the human γ-sarcoglycan gene under the control of the desmin promoter, by local injection into the extensor carpi radialis muscle. The first group received a single injection of 3 × 10(9) viral genomes in 100 µl, the second group received a single injection of 1.5 × 10(10) viral genomes in 100 µl, and the third group received three simultaneous 100-µl injections at the same site, delivering a total dose of 4.5 × 10(10) viral genomes. No serious adverse effects occurred during 6 months of follow-up. All nine patients became adeno-associated virus serotype 1 seropositive and one developed a cytotoxic response to the adeno-associated virus serotype 1 capsid. Thirty days later, immunohistochemical analysis of injected-muscle biopsy specimens showed γ-sarcoglycan expression in all three patients who received the highest dose (4.7-10.5% positively stained fibres), while real-time polymerase chain reaction detected γ-sarcoglycan messenger RNA. In one patient, γ-sarcoglycan protein was detected by western blot. For two other patients who received the low and intermediate doses, discrete levels of γ-sarcoglycan expression (<1% positively stained fibres) were also detectable. Expression of γ-sarcoglycan protein can be induced in patients with limb girdle muscular dystrophy type 2C by adeno-associated virus serotype 1 gene transfer, with no serious adverse effects

L'histoire sociale du Moyen Âge est aujourd'hui en pleine évolution : elle redéfinit ses objets et, construisant des approches originales, délaisse vieux paradigmes et anciennes périodisations, sans rien renier pour autant de l'acquis transmis par les générations précédentes. Ce livre s'empare des thématiques les plus renouvelées depuis les années 1990 - l'espace, l'écriture, la vie économique comprise comme l'une des modalités de la domination sociale. Ces différentes approches témoignent du dynamisme d'une discipline qui se place délibérément à la croisée des sciences de l'homme et de celles de la société, n'hésitant pas, pour enrichir ses analyses, à mobiliser les concepts de la sociologie et de l'économie. Des sciences plus classiques et plus techniques, comme la paléographie et la diplomatique, sont de la même façon convoquées pour saisir les raisons de l'inscription des choses et des faits dans des listes ou dans des récits. Au cœur de ces problématiques se retrouvent les notions de territoire, seigneurie, paroisse mais également des sujets qui rénovent l'histoire sociale, telle l'anthroponymie. L'histoire économique, quant à elle, dépassant les débats qui ont structuré son historiographie dans la seconde moitié du XXe siècle, cherche à définir les notions-clés de crise ou de commercialisation et s'interroge sur le fonctionnement concret de la société paysanne. Conçu comme un hommage à Monique Bourin et à son œuvre d'historienne, ce livre atteste de la richesse et de la fécondité de son enseignement ainsi que de son talent à transformer un champ d'études en guidant et fédérant les travaux de très nombreux chercheurs
