Thermo-mechanical sensitivity calibration of nanotorsional magnetometers

We report on the fabrication of sensitive nanotorsional resonators, which can be utilized as magnetometers for investigating the magnetization dynamics in small magnetic elements. The thermo-mechanical noise is calibrated with the resonator displacement in order to determine the ultimate mechanical torque sensitivity of the magnetometer.Comment: 56th Annual Conference on Magnetism and Magnetic Material

Study on segmented-rotor switched reluctance motors with different rotor pole numbers for bsg system of hybrid electric vehicles

© 1967-2012 IEEE. This paper investigates the design principles and performance optimization for segmented-rotor switched reluctance motors (SRSRMs) with different rotor pole numbers for belt-driven starter generators of hybrid electric vehicles. For the design principles, several constraints are derived for the numbers of stator and rotor poles, the dimensions, and the number of winding turns. Two SRSRMs with 16/10 and 16/14 stator/rotor poles are presented according to these principles. For the performance optimization, the two motors are optimized individually for maximizing the torque. To evaluate the effect of different segmented-rotor numbers, the overall performances of the two SRSRMs are investigated and compared. It is found that the 16/14 SRSRM has higher flux linkage and static torque. The 16/14 SRSRM exhibits higher torque and lower torque ripple at low speed operation, whereas at high speed, the 16/10 SRSRM performs better in terms of torque and power densities. Compared with the 16/14 SRSRM, the 16/10 SRSRM has higher final steady speed under the same startup condition. The 16/10 SRSRM can achieve higher steady speed under starter mode and provide higher generated power under braking mode. Moreover, the 16/10 SRSRM exhibits higher efficiency in the most feasible speed range, especially in high speed range, and it has wider high-efficiency area. Finally, a 16/10 SRSRM is prototyped and tested to validate the simulation results

Aims. To explore the effects of the high expression of MMP9 on biological behaviors of fibroblasts. Methods. High glucose and hyperhomocysteine were used to induce MMP9 expression in skin fibroblasts. Cell proliferation was detected by flow cytometry and cell viability by CCK-8. ELISA assay was used to detect collagen (hydroxyproline) secretion. Scratch test was employed to evaluate horizontal migration of cells and transwell method to evaluate vertical migration of cells. Results. The mRNA and protein expressions of MMP9 and its protease activity were significantly higher in cells treated with high glucose and hyperhomocysteine than those in control group. At the same time, the S-phase cell ratio, proliferation index, cell viability, collagen (hydroxyproline) secretion, horizontal migration rate, and the number of vertical migration cells decreased in high-glucose and hyperhomocysteine-treated group. Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 1 (TIMP1), which inhibits the activity of MMP9, recovered the above biological behaviors. Conclusions. High expression of MMP9 in skin fibroblasts could be induced by cultureing in high glucose and hyperhomocysteine medium, which inhibited cell biological behaviors. Inhibitions could be reversed by TIMP1. The findings suggested that MMP9 deters the healing of diabetic foot ulcers by inhibiting the biological behaviors of fibroblasts

In the title Schiff base compound, C14H11N3O5, the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 1.6 (1)°. The molecule displays an E configuration about the C=N bond. An intramolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bond is observed. In the crystal, molecules are linked into layers parallel to (101) by O—H⋯O, N—H⋯O and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. One of the hydroxyl groups is disordered over two positions, with occupancies of 0.643 (5) and 0.357 (5)

The title complex, [Ni(C13H20N2O2)2](NCS)2, consists of a centrosymmetric mononuclear four-coordinate nickel(II) complex cation and two thiocyanate anions. The Ni atom is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by two phenol O atoms and two imine N atoms from two equivalent Schiff base ligands, in a square-planar geometry. In the crystal structure, the amino H atoms are involved in N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the phenol and methoxy O atoms of the ligand, and in N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds with the N atoms of the thiocyanate anions, which sit above and below the Ni atom

© 2018 IEEE. The study of temperature rise distribution in the human eye under plane electromagnetic wave exposure up to 10 GHz is presented in this paper. The effects of different frequencies and different blood perfusion rates of sclera to thermal calculations are investigated by finite difference method. The results reveal that the changes in the thermal parameter produce a maximum relative standard deviation of ~15% in the temperature rise in lens
