Ageing in place: intergenerational and intrafamilial housing transfers and shifts in later life

    No full text
Using the findings of a large-scale survey, Diana Olsberg and Mark Winters identify a significant shift in the values and priorities of older Australians that is transforming the patterns of future housing tenue, lifestyle and family relationships. They concludes that ageing in place depends more on attachment to location than to the family home. Aspirations for independence, flexibility, consumer and lifestyle choices take precedence, challenging traditional notions of old age and family obligations
