OSSMETER: Automated measurement and analysis of open source software
International audienceDeciding whether an open source software (OSS) meets the requiredstandards for adoption in terms of quality, maturity, activity of development anduser support is not a straightforward process. It involves analysing various sourcesof information, including the project’s source code repositories, communicationchannels, and bug tracking systems. OSSMETER extends state-of-the-art techniquesin the field of automated analysis and measurement of open-source software(OSS), and develops a platform that supports decision makers in the processof discovering, comparing, assessing and monitoring the health, quality, impactand activity of opensource software. To achieve this, OSSMETER computestrustworthy quality indicators by performing advanced analysis and integrationof information from diverse sources including the project metadata, source coderepositories, communication channels and bug tracking systems of OSS projects
Comparison of PBO solvers in a dependency solving domain
Linux package managers have to deal with dependencies and conflicts of
packages required to be installed by the user. As an NP-complete problem, this
is a hard task to solve. In this context, several approaches have been pursued.
Apt-pbo is a package manager based on the apt project that encodes the
dependency solving problem as a pseudo-Boolean optimization (PBO) problem. This
paper compares different PBO solvers and their effectiveness on solving the

Modal analysis of planar structures loaded with wire-medium slabs using a transmission-line approach
A transmission-line approach is presented for the analysis of planar structures including homogenized wiremedium slabs with vertically aligned wires. The network formalism allows for an effective determination of the modal dispersion equation via transverse resonance, as opposed to the more cumbersome field-matching approach. A parallel-plate waveguide loaded with wire medium to suppress TEM-mode propagation is considered as a case study. Numerical results, benchmarked also against state-of-the-art simulation software, confirm the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed formulation
Annular Reconfigurable Metasurface for Omnidirectional Dual-Pol Leaky-Wave Antennas
A printed annular reconfigurable metasurface (ARM) comprised of concentric ring slots etched in a metal screen loaded by stubs and varactor diodes is proposed to realize two-dimensional leaky-wave antennas (LWAs) operating on a pair of azimuthally independent TM and TE cylindrical leaky modes. The metasurface, used as a superstrate for a grounded dielectric slab, is designed to achieve wavenumber equalization of the two modes. These are excited independently by means of a vertical coaxial probe and a horizontal microstrip loop, thus allowing for radiation of an omnidirectional conical beam with reconfigurable beam angle and polarization. Theoretical and numerical investigations are presented, including an ad-hoc moment-method approach for the calculation of the antenna far-field patterns

Search for the rare decay D-0 -> mu(+) mu(-)
A search for the rare decay D-0 -> mu(+) mu(-) is performed using a data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.9 fb(-1), of pp collisions collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV by the LHCb experiment. The observed number of events is consistent with the background expectations and corresponds to an upper limit of B(D-0 -> mu(+) mu(-)) < 6.2 (7.6) x 10(-9) at 90% (95%) confidence level. This result represents an improvement of more than a factor twenty with respect to previous measurements
Observation of B-s(0) -> chi(c1)phi decay and study of B-0 -> chi K-c1,K-2*(0) decays
The first observation of the decay B-s(0) -> chi(c1)phi and a study of B-0 -> chi K-c1,K-2*(0) decays are presented. The analysis is performed using a dataset, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The following ratios of branching fractions are measured: B(B-s(0) -> chi(c1)phi)/B(B-s(0) -> J/psi phi) = (18.9 +/- 1.8 (stat) +/- 1.3 (syst) +/- 0.8(B)) x 10(-2), B(B-0 -> chi K-c1*(0))//B(B-0 -> J/psi K*(0)) = (19.8 +/- 1.1 (stat) +/- 1.2 (syst) +/- 0.9(B)) x 10(-2), B(B-0 -> chi K-c2*(0))//B(B-0 -> chi K-c1*(0)) = (17.1 +/- 5.0 (stat) +/- 1.7 (syst) +/- 1.1(B)) x 10(-2), where the third uncertainty is due to the limited knowledge of the branching fractions of chi(c) -> J/psi gamma modes
B flavour tagging using charm decays at the LHCb experiment
An algorithm is described for tagging the flavour content at production of neutral B mesons in the LHCb experiment. The algorithm exploits the correlation of the flavour of a B meson with the charge of a reconstructed secondary charm hadron from the decay of the other b hadron produced in the proton-proton collision. Charm hadron candidates are identified in a number of fully or partially reconstructed Cabibbo-favoured decay modes. The algorithm is calibrated on the self-tagged decay modes B+ -> J/psi K+ and B-0 -> J/psi K*(0) using 3.0fb(-1) of data collected by the LHCb experiment at pp centre-of-mass energies of 7TeV and 8TeV. Its tagging power on these samples of B -> J/psi X decays is (0.30 +/- 0.01 +/- 0.01) %
