The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the learning models on the learning achievement in Mathematics seen from the self confidence attitude of the students. The learning models compared were the cooperative learning model of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) type using scientific approach, Think Talk Write (TTW) type using scientific approach, and classical model using scientific approach. This study was a quasi-experimental with a 3x3 factorial design. Instruments used for data collection were mathematics learning achievement tests and a questionnaire of student self confidence attitude. The proposed hypothesis of the research were analyzed by using the two way analysis of variance with unbalanced cells. Based on the hypothesis testing it can be concluded as follows. (1) The mathematics learning achievement of student with NHT learning model using scientific approach are as high as that of the students with TTW learning model using scientific approach, the learning achievement of students with NHT learning model using scientific approach are as high as that of the students with classical learning model using scientific approach, and the learning achievement of students with TTW learning model using scientific approach is better than that of students with classical learning model using scientific approach, (2) high self confidence students' learning achievement is as high as medium self confidence students', the high self confidence students' learning achievement is better than the low self confidence students', and the medium self confidence students' learning achievement is better than the low self confidence students', (3) Seen from self confidence attitude, the mathematics learning achievement of student with NHT learning model using scientific approach are as high as that of the students with TTW learning model using scientific approach, the learning achievement of student with NHT learning model using scientific approach are as high as that of the students with classical learning model using scientific approach, and the learning achievement of student with TTW learning model using scientific approach is better than students with classical learning model using scientific approach), (4) seen from the learning models, high self confidence students' learning achievement is as high as medium self confidence students', the high self confidence students' learning achievement is better than the low self confidence students', and the medium self confidence students' learning achievement is better than the low self confidence students

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) income obtained from seaweed business in Bungin Permai Village, Tinanggea Subdistrict, South Konawe Regency (2) seaweed farming in Bungin Permai Village, Tinanggea Sub-District, South Konawe Regency. This research uses qualitative and quantitative methods. The population of this study is 233 seaweed farmers. The sample determination uses simple random sampling technique. The number of samples in this study were 37 respondents, thesample size was determined by referring to the Slovin formula. The results of this study indicate (1) The average income of farmers respondents on seaweed farming in one production process that is Rp11.412.683 (2) With R / C of 7.353 means seaweed farming profitable and feasible to be developed and the use of production costs efficient

Scrub typhus in Indonesia: a cross-sectional analysis of archived fever studies samples

Background Scrub typhus is an understudied vector-borne bacterial infection. Methods We tested archived fever samples for scrub typhus seropositivity to begin charting its geographic distribution in Indonesia. We analysed 1033 serum samples from three sites. IgM and IgG enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) against Orientia tsutsugamushi was performed using Karp, Kato, Gilliam, TA 716 antigens. To determine the cutoff in the absence of a presumed unexposed population and gold standard tests, we identified the visual inflection point, performed change point analysis, and used finite mixture models. Results The optical density cutoff values used for IgM and IgG were 0.49 and 0.13, respectively. Across all sites, IgM seropositivity was 4.6% (95% CI: 3.4 to 6.0%) while IgG seropositivity was 4.4% (95% CI: 3.3 to 5.8%). The overall seropositivity across sites was 8.8% (95% CI: 8.1 to 11.7%). The overall seropositivity for Jambi, Denpasar, Tabanan were 9.7% (95% CI: 7.0 to 13.3%), 8.0% (95% CI: 5.7 to 11.0%), 9.0% (95% CI: 6.1 to 13.0%), respectively. Conclusions We conclude that O. tsutsugamushi exposure in humans occurred at all sites analysed and could be the cause of illness in some cases. Though it was not the main cause of acute fever in these locations, it is still important to consider scrub typhus in cases not responding to beta-lactam antibiotics. Future seroprevalence surveys and testing for scrub typhus in acute febrile illness studies will be essential to understand its distribution and burden in Indonesia

The research aims to analyze the correlation between vocabulary mastery towards employees' speaking English skill. The research conducted at obstetric and gynecology polyclinic in Hermina Grandwisata Hospital. The research used quantitative research which used correlational technique design. The researcher takes 32 employees for the sample and gives test with 30 questions for English vocabulary and speaking test consist of multiple choice and oral test. The data are analyzed using by SPSS version 2.2. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of vocabulary mastery towards employees' English speaking skill at obstetric and gynecology polyclinic in Hermina Grandwisata Hospital. This is evidenced by the acquisition of the results of the significant 0,000 < 0,05 and T Value = 2.824. It shows that T table is 1,697 < T value, so it can be concluded that (Ho) is rejected and (Ha) is accepted. It means that there is a correlation between vocabulary mastery (X) toward English speaking skill (Y)

The purpose of this study was to determine the most common grammatical errors found in students' theses at a private university in Southeast Sulawesi, and to consider the possible causes of the students' mistakes. Descriptive qualitative methods were used. Students were recruited through purposive sampling. The theses were analyzed using the Mileys & Huberman's approach. During the data collection process, the writer documented the thesis background and noted any errors that were discovered. 803 errors were found in the background of students' theses. The most common errors were on misformation, which accounted for 547 or 68.12% of all errors, followed by omission errors, which accounted for 128 or 15.94% of all errors. Misordering and addition, on the other hand, accounted for 11.83% and 4.10% of all errors, respectively. The researchers deduced from the error analysis that mother tongue interference and target language causes contributed to these errors (false analogy, misanalysis, incomplete rule application, exploiting redundancy, overlooking co-occurrence restrictions, hypercorrection, overgeneralization, or system-simplification). Keywords: frequent grammatical errors, misformation, misordering, addition, omissio
