Performance evaluation on aquatic product cold-chain logistics
Purpose: The requirements for high quality and diversification aquatic products are increasing
with the improvement of Chinese living standard. However, the distribution between the place
of production and the place of consumption are uneven, which results in large cold-chain
logistics demand for aquatic products. At present, the low-level development of cold chain
logistics has a bad impact on the circulation of aquatic products in China. So it is very urgent to
develop cold-chain logistics in China.
Design/methodology/approach: In order to do this, we apply performance evaluation, a
well-known management tool, to study Chinese aquatic product cold-chain logistics. In this
paper we first propose SISP (Subjects, Indexes, Standards, and Phases of performance
evaluation) model and ACSSN model (Aquatic product, Customer, Supply Chain, Society, and
Node enterprises of supply chain) for aquatic products cold-chain logistics performance
evaluation. Then an ANP-Fuzzy method is proposed to evaluate the operational performance
of Shandong Oriental Ocean Sci-Tech Co., Ltd. Furthermore, a system dynamic model is built
to simulate the impact of temperature on the profits in aquatic products cold-chain sales
section. Findings: We find out within a reasonable temperature range, lower temperature brings higher
profit level. Also, performance improvement methods are proposed and the simulation of
performance evaluation system is developed.
Practical implications: Our findings can help to improve the level of aquatic product coldchain
logistics in China.

Democratizing Pathological Image Segmentation with Lay Annotators via Molecular-empowered Learning
Multi-class cell segmentation in high-resolution Giga-pixel whole slide
images (WSI) is critical for various clinical applications. Training such an AI
model typically requires labor-intensive pixel-wise manual annotation from
experienced domain experts (e.g., pathologists). Moreover, such annotation is
error-prone when differentiating fine-grained cell types (e.g., podocyte and
mesangial cells) via the naked human eye. In this study, we assess the
feasibility of democratizing pathological AI deployment by only using lay
annotators (annotators without medical domain knowledge). The contribution of
this paper is threefold: (1) We proposed a molecular-empowered learning scheme
for multi-class cell segmentation using partial labels from lay annotators; (2)
The proposed method integrated Giga-pixel level molecular-morphology
cross-modality registration, molecular-informed annotation, and
molecular-oriented segmentation model, so as to achieve significantly superior
performance via 3 lay annotators as compared with 2 experienced pathologists;
(3) A deep corrective learning (learning with imperfect label) method is
proposed to further improve the segmentation performance using partially
annotated noisy data. From the experimental results, our learning method
achieved F1 = 0.8496 using molecular-informed annotations from lay annotators,
which is better than conventional morphology-based annotations (F1 = 0.7051)
from experienced pathologists. Our method democratizes the development of a
pathological segmentation deep model to the lay annotator level, which
consequently scales up the learning process similar to a non-medical computer
vision task. The official implementation and cell annotations are publicly
available at https://github.com/hrlblab/MolecularEL
Unraveling the mechanisms of NK cell dysfunction in aging and Alzheimer’s disease: insights from GWAS and single-cell transcriptomics
BackgroundAging is an important factor in the development of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The senescent cells can be recognized and removed by NK cells. However, NK cell function is gradually inactivated with age. Therefore, this study used senescence as an entry point to investigate how NK cells affect AD.MethodsThe study validated the correlation between cognition and aging through a prospective cohort of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey database. A cellular trajectory analysis of the aging population was performed using single-cell nuclear transcriptome sequencing data from patients with AD and different ages. The genome-wide association study (GWAS) cohort of AD patients was used as the outcome event, and the expression quantitative trait locus was used as an instrumental variable. Causal associations between genes and AD were analyzed by bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) and co-localization. Finally, clinical cohorts were constructed to validate the expression of key genes.ResultsA correlation between cognition and aging was demonstrated using 2,171 older adults over 60 years of age. Gene regulation analysis revealed that most of the highly active transcription factors were concentrated in the NK cell subpopulation of AD. NK cell trajectories were constructed for different age populations. MR and co-localization analyses revealed that CHD6 may be one of the factors influencing AD.ConclusionWe explored different levels of AD and aging from population cohorts, single-cell data, and GWAS cohorts and found that there may be some correlations of NK cells between aging and AD. It also provides some basis for potential causation
Effects of Mo substitution for Ni on the microstructure and property of V-based hydrogen storage alloys
In order to study the property the V-based hydrogen storage alloys, Ni in the alloys was partially
substituted by Mo. The V2Ti0.5Cr0.5Ni1-xMox (x=0.02-0.08) hydrogen storage alloys were prepared by induction melting, and the effects of Mo content on the microstructure and electrochemical property were investigated systematically. The results show that the alloys mainly consist of a V-based solid solution phase with a BCC structure and a TiNi-based secondary phase. The electrochemical measurements indicate that with increasing the content of Mo, the maximum discharge capacity, the cycle stability and high rate discharge ability is increased first and then decreased
Following model for ships in navigation tunnels
Determination of the appropriate following distance between ships is essential for their safe passage through navigation tunnels. In this study, it uses the following theory of traffic flow to establish a model that enables the calculation of the following distance between ships in a navigation tunnel. Based on the proposed model, the study also introduces an approach to calculate and control the following distance at different risk levels in order to control the passage intervals within a navigation tunnel. In addition, the study tests the model using data for the second line navigation tunnel of the Silin Junction in the Wujiang River, China and compare the results with existing distance control parameters for ships in the Goupitan first line navigation tunnel in the Wujiang River. The proposed model can effectively reduce the risk of ship navigation in tunnels by providing reference information for safe ship navigation, thus allowing operational and management staff to ensure adherence to safety procedures within the navigation tunnel

The Current Status of Breastfeeding Knowledge and Its Influencing Factors in Nursing Undergraduates: A Cross-Sectional Study in China
The aim of this study was to explore the breastfeeding knowledge of nursing undergraduates and the influencing factors. Human milk (HM) is one of the most effective nutritional supplies to improve early development and physical health, but the current status of breastfeeding in China is still not optimal. The breastfeeding knowledge of perinatal women influences their feeding beliefs and behavior. Nursing undergraduates, as core professionals who will care for perinatal women and provide feeding guidance in the future, can significantly affect feeding behavior of mothers and their babies, so their knowledge of breastfeeding may have a potential impact on breastfeeding in China. However, studies on breastfeeding knowledge among nursing undergraduates in China are limited. A convenience sampling method was conducted in four medical universities in China, and eligible nursing undergraduates were selected. An online survey was collected from 5 July 2022 to 5 August 2022. Categorical data were reported as number and percentage, while continuous data were reported as mean ± SD. Multivariate linear regression was used to evaluate the association between influencing factors and breastfeeding knowledge. The overall mean score of the 460 returned questionnaires was 43.991 out of 100. The pass rate of the questionnaire was only 23.04%. Nursing undergraduates had a relatively better grasp of the benefits of breastfeeding and related advice (correct rates: 67.83%). Birthplace, only child or not, the course in obstetrics and gynecological nursing, the course in pediatrics nursing, and placements in maternity or neonatology units were relevant factors for breastfeeding knowledge (p < 0.05). Nursing undergraduates showed unsatisfactory breastfeeding knowledge. It is urgent to raise the knowledge level of breastfeeding among nursing undergraduates. Medical colleges should optimally structure a curriculum of breastfeeding knowledge. Furthermore, it is also necessary to improve the public’s understanding of breastfeeding and the whole society’s attention to breastfeeding in China
