To date there were no reports of the history of Ancylostoma pluridentatum that was described in Italy, on the basis of Brazilian specimens in 1905. The only two further autochthonous references of the species occurred in 1910 and 2008, respectively, with no previous historical data during those 98 years in which the species was ignored in Brazil; in the present note, the occurrence of A. pluridentatum in the Americas is briefly accounted, on what concerns geographical distribution and hosts. In South America, A. pluridentatum is referred in the southeast (Atlantic Forest) and north (Amazon rain forest) regions of Brazil, in Argentina (Formosa Province) and in Colombia (Choco, Nariño); in Central America is cited in Panama (Achiote, Colon) and in North America in north, southern and south regions of Florida.

Dichelyne (Cucullanellus) elongatus (Tornquist, 1931) Petter, 1974 and Cucullanus pulcherrimus Barreto, 1918, from Paralonchurus brasiliensis (Steind., 1875) are redescribed and two specimens of Dichelyne (Cucullanellus) sp. are also reported in this host, despite lack of previously, was again identified in Brazil since its original description and posterior illustration. The present findings represent also a new host record for the referred genera: Dichelyne Jagerskiold, 1902 and Cucullanus Mueller, 1777. D. (C.) elongatus is also referred in Brazil for the first time

On Machadosentis travassosi n. g., n. sp. (Eoacanthocephala: Quadrigyridae) parasite of a moray Gymnothorax ocellatus in Brazil

Machadosentis travassosi n. g., n. sp. an acanthocephalan parasite of a moray are proposed after comparison with the related genera in Quadrigyridae VVan Cleave, 1920. The new genus differs from the other related by the arrangement of proboscis hooks (five circles of rows with five hooks each, with well developed roots) besides the distribution of cuticular spines

With this work, we went through the Brazilian Procamallanus, all of them but one recovered from freshwater fishes. We describe Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) paraensis n. sp., which is related to Procamallanus (S.) pexatus pinto, Fabio, Noronha & Rolas, 1976 and to Procamallanus (S.) inopinatus Travassos, Artigas & Pereira, 1928. Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) hilarii Vaz & Pereira, 1934 is redescribed. The adapted and modified original descriptions of Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) macaensis Vicente & Santos, 1972 and Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) barroslimai Pereira, 1935 are included. The latter should be considered a synonym of P. (S.) inopinatus, but the lack of the type sample or fresh material and substantial data prevented us to do so. Therefore, its validity is rather doubtful as also suggested by Kloss (1966), and for this reason it was not included in the key to the species. All the Brazilian Procamallanus species recovered from characid fishes were discussed in order to let one knows what are the really valid ones up to now. We also list the unidentified damaged material which was put only under the genus, as well as the hosts' scientific and common names and their geographical distribution
