peer reviewedNous présenterons tout d'abord une mise au point sur les tendances actuelles, les évolutions dans les demandes, les thérapies et l'organisation des soins. Nous tenterons de répondre aux questions : pourquoi un réseau ? Un réseau en santé mental est-il possible au vue de la diversité de l'offre de soins ? Faut-il aiguiser sa différence et renforcer les particularités de chaque courant ou faut-il conjuguer des modalités cliniques différentes ? Nous envisagerons ensuite la place de l'hôpital de jour du centre universitaire provincial "La Clairière" dans le réseau de santé mentale de la province du Luxembourg, région rurale avec une population peu nombreuse et dispersée. Enfin, nous aborderons quelques réflexions suscitées par l'évolution de la politique de soins en santé mentale. Analysis of Morbidity and Clinical Implications of Laparoscopic Para-Aortic Lymphadenectomy in a Continuous Series of 98 Patients with Advanced-Stage Cervical Cancer and Negative PET–CT Imaging in the Para-Aortic Area

A series of patients with locally advanced cervical cancer, with no positive para-aortic nodes on positron emission tomography–computed tomography who had undergone a primary laparoscopic para-aortic lymphadenectomy was retrospectively reviewed. Morbidity was limited and the completion of treatment was not delayed when complications occurred

The effects at home of initiating production abroad: evidence from matched french firms

Based on matching techniques in combination with a difference-in-difference estimator, this paper estimates the effects at home of initiating production abroad through the establishment of a foreign production affiliate. The analysis covers manufacturing and service firms active in France during the period 1987–1999. We show that the motivation to start producing abroad is an important determinant of its impact at home. Market-seeking foreign direct investment (FDI) in manufacturing is associated with significant scale effects, resulting in job creation. By contrast, factor-seeking FDI in manufacturing has no significant effect on employment. However, there is some evidence that this type of FDI is associated with technology effects, in the form of greater capital-intensity and efficiency, as well as larger exports. Finally, FDI in service sectors is associated with significant positive employment effects, presumably reflecting the importance of the market-seeking motive in these sectors
