Electronic surveillance system

The library\u27s checkpoint installed with an electronic surveillance system that detects the unauthorized removal or withdrawal of library materials. The CD Bibliofile, an electronic cataloging tool, is now networked. This facility allows the catalogers to do the cataloging process in a much shorter time and that newly acquired books become readily available to library patrons

Library Director Perla T. Garcia was appointed one of the three (3) members of the Board for Librarians (BFL) of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Garcia took her Oath of Office in the presence of Chairman Antonieta Fortuna Ibe at the PRC. Her term of office ends on December 5, 2005

The DLSU Library has successfully migrated to a new integrated library system known as the Millennium by Innovative Interfaces, Inc. The system was web-based and integrates international standards for bibliographic information storage, retrieval, exchange and management. Web-OPAC is accessed at http://lib1000.dlsu.edu.ph. Full system operation commenced on January 5, 2004

CD-ROM conversion project
