    Genetic alterations in lymphoblastic leukaemia / lymphoma – a practical guide to WHO HAEM5

    \ua9 2024 the author(s), published by De Gruyter.We present a practical guide for analyzing the genetic aspects of lymphoblastic leukaemia/lymphoma according to the 5th edition of the World Health Organization (WHO) classification of haematolymphoid neoplasms (WHO-HAEM5) issued in 2024. The WHO-HAEM5 acknowledges the increasing importance of genetics in the diagnosis of lymphoid neoplasia. Classification is based on the established genetic subtypes according to cell lineage, with precursor cell neoplasms followed by mature malignancies. This guide describes those genetic abnormalities in acute precursor B- and T-cell neoplasms required for risk stratification, and for treatment, providing diagnostic algorithms under the headings of ‘essential’ and ‘desirable’ diagnostic criteria

    Novel Bradykinin Analogues Modified in the N-Terminal Part of the Molecule with a Variety of Acyl Substituents

    In the current work we present some pharmacological characteristics of ten new analogues of bradykinin (Arg–Pro–Pro–Gly–Phe–Ser–Pro–Phe–Arg) modified in the N-terminal part of the molecule with a variety of acyl substituents. Of the many acylating agents used previously with B2 receptor antagonists, the following residues were chosen: 1-adamantaneacetic acid (Aaa), 1-adamantanecarboxylic acid (Aca), 4-tert-butylbenzoic acid (t-Bba), 4-aminobenzoic acid (Aba), 12-aminododecanoic acid (Adc), succinic acid (Sua), 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoic acid, 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propionic acid and 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid. Biological activity of the compounds was assessed in the in vivo rat blood pressure test and the in vitro rat uterus test. Surprisingly, N-terminal substitution of the bradykinin peptide chain itself with aforementioned groups resulted in antagonists of bradykinin in the pressor test and suppressed agonistic potency in the uterotonic test. These interesting findings need further studies as they can be helpful for designing more potent B2 receptor blockers

    The selection of bioremediation techniques is important for purification of contaminated soil for agricultural use. Studies on soil contaminated with petroleum substances have indicated that the applied method of remediation has a bigger impact on the development of oat seedlings than the level of contamination. A yeast inoculum appeared to be a technique which was the friendliest to vegetation of oat.DobĂłr technik bioremediacji jest bardzo waĆŒny w oczyszczaniu gleby skaĆŒonej substancjami ropopochodnymi, ktĂłra ma być wykorzystywanej rolniczo.
