    В статті вивчено мікронеоднорідну будову цинктитанових боросилікатних стекол та процесів фазового розділу в них за даним розсіяння нейтронів під малими кутами. Зроблено висновок про характер розподілення часток, що виділяються за розмірами, які змінюються в дослідних стеклах в залежності від вмісту в них TiO₂ та ZnO.     ABSTRACT: Experimental data was generated by performing the experiment on a plate heat exchanger for water/water system, at different flow rate and different hot water inlet temperature, at steady state conditions. Overall heat transfer coefficient (U) is determined for the performance evaluation of plate heat exchanger. The thermal properties of water (thermal Conductivity, Specific heat and density) at different temperature were calculated from the linear correlation developed in Polymath 5. To determine the film heat transfer coefficient as a function of pressure drop we have developed the correlations from the graphs plotted h against ∆P 0.35 for Turbulent flow and, h against ∆P 0.2 for laminar flow. These correlations and graphs can be used to study the effect of pressure drop (∆P) on film heat transfer coefficient (h). Graphs presented in this work were plotted using computer software polymath 5 and Microsoft excel. Correlations for the convective heat transfer coefficient as a function of Reynolds number (Re), and Prandtl number (Pr) is suggested

    Treatment of milk wastewater using up-flow anaerobic packed bed reactor

    An up-flow anaerobic packed bed (UAPB) bioreactor has been designed on a laboratory-scale and used for treatment of domestic milk wastewater (MWW). The UAPB bioreactor was operated under mesophilic temperature (37-45°C) and reactor performance evaluated at various organic loading rates of MWW effluent at hydraulic retention times (HRT) of 1, 2, and 3 d based on the removal of organic matter COD, BOD, SS, pH changes and biogas production. The kinetic parameters were estimated using the experimental data to develop a reactor model. Empirical relations were generated for the characteristics like COD, BOD, and SS using modeling equations. This study proved that the UAPB reactor performance is excellent for treating domestic MWW and easily biodegradable dairy wastewater influent. Hence, this system can operate at low costs, making it suited for use in the developing countries and rural areas
