A New Description of Nuclear Rotational Motion in terms of Intrinsic Pair Mode

    Get PDF
A new method describing nuclear rotational motion microscopically is proposed. We extract the rotational Hamiltonian by introducing the intrinsic pair modes which commute with the rotational mode. Thereby the rotational mode is not treated as zero energy mode in contrast with the conventional RPA formalism so that we circumvent the difficulty related with infrared divergence. The wave function is constructed by angular momentum projection on each intrinsic state. Without numerical integration for projection we calculate the matrix elements analytically under a certain approximation. The numerical calculations are carried out to illustrate the applicability of our method and they show that our method works well.Comment: 14pages,1figur

1936–2019年に出版された文献に基づき,日本産魚類から記録された7属16種のエラジラミ科カイアシ類の情報を寄生虫– 宿主リストと宿主– 寄生虫リストとして示した。それらはエラジラミ属(新称)Bomolochus(2種),ウオノハナヤドリ属(新称)Naricolax(1種),ツルギエラジラミ属(新称)Nothobomolochus(5種),ザゼンジラミ属(新称)Orbitacolax(3種),メダマジラミ属(新称)Pumiliopes(1種),ウオノハナヅマリ属(新称)Tegobomolochus(1種),ウオノハナジラミ属(新称)Unicolax(3種)に属する。 Based on the literature published between 1936 and 2019, a checklist is compiled for 16 nominal species in seven genera (Bomolochus [2 spp.], Naricolax [1 sp.], Nothobomolochus [5 spp.], Orbitacolax [3 spp.], Pumiliopes [1 sp.], Tegobomolochus [1 sp.], and Unicolax [3 spp.]) of the cyclopoid copepod family Bomolochidae from Japanese marine fishes. In a parasite-host list, information is given for each species on its Japanese name, current scientific name, previous scientific name(s) if present, host(s), site(s) of infection, collection site(s) in Japanese waters, and references. A host-parasite list is also given

A survey of T Tauri stars with AKARI toward the Taurus-Auriga region

Aims: We search new T Tauri star (TTS) candidates with the mid-infrared (MIR) part of the AKARI All-Sky Survey at 9 and 18 um wavelengths. Methods: We used the point source catalogue (PSC), obtained by the Infrared Camera (IRC) on board AKARI. We combined the 2MASS PSC and the 3rd version of the USNO CCD Astrograph Catalogue (UCAC) with the AKARI IRC-PSC, and surveyed 517 known TTSs over a 1800-square-degree part of the Taurus-Auriga region to find criteria to extract TTSs. We considered asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars, post-AGB stars, Planetary Nebulae (PNe), and galaxies, which have similar MIR colours, to separate TTSs from these sources. Results: Of the 517 known TTSs, we detected 133 sources with AKARI. Based on the colour-colour and colour-magnitude diagrams made from the AKARI, 2MASS, and UCAC surveys, we propose the criteria to extract TTS candidates from the AKARI All-Sky data. On the basis of our criteria, we selected 176/14725 AKARI sources as TTS candidates which are located around the Taurus-Auriga region. Comparing these sources with SIMBAD, there are 148 previously identified sources including 115 Young Stellar Objects (YSOs), and 28 unidentified sources. Conclusions: Based on SIMBAD identifications, we take the TTS-identification probability using our criteria to be ~75 %. We find 28 TTS candidates, of which we expect 21 to be confirmed once follow-up observations can be obtained. Although the probability of ~75 % is not so high, it is affected by the completeness of the SIMBAD database, and we can search for TTSs over the whole sky, over all star forming regions.Comment: 12 pages, 9 figures, accepted for publication in A&

A Calculus with Partially Dynamic Records for Typeful Manipulation of JSON Objects

    Get PDF
This paper investigates language constructs for high-level and type-safe manipulation of JSON objects in a typed functional language. A major obstacle in representing JSON in a static type system is their heterogeneous nature: in most practical JSON APIs, a JSON array is a heterogeneous list consisting of, for example, objects having common fields and possibly some optional fields. This paper presents a typed calculus that reconciles static typing constraints and heterogeneous JSON arrays based on the idea of partially dynamic records originally proposed and sketched by Buneman and Ohori for complex database object manipulation. Partially dynamic records are dynamically typed records, but some parts of their structures are statically known. This feature enables us to represent JSON objects as typed data structures. The proposed calculus smoothly extends with ML-style pattern matching and record polymorphism. These results yield a typed functional language where the programmer can directly import JSON data as terms having static types, and can manipulate them with the full benefits of static polymorphic type-checking. The proposed calculus has been embodied in SML#, an extension of Standard ML with record polymorphism and other practically useful features. This paper also reports on the details of the implementation and demonstrates its feasibility through examples using actual Web APIs. The SML# version 3.1.0 compiler includes JSON support presented in this paper, and is available from Tohoku University as open-source software under a BSD-style license

A. Schoenberg engaged in educational activity throughout his life. And it has ever been indicated that there are interactive relations between his educational and creative activities. But his aspect as teacher especially is indispensable to understand his life and creativity as composer. In this paper we are concerned with considerations on his ideas of music in education. While he taught many students in order to make a living, he was however a passionate teacher. Here I pointed two aspects of his educational activity: first, he provided special educations through private teachings, lectures in the seminars and concerts to music students, secondly, he presented music as general human culture for audience in concerts. Schoenberg published several books on music theory and his own compositional works, but he wrote many papers on education in general. From these papers I can clarify his ideas of music education, namely, his view on ideal teacher, purpose of education and educational practice for it. In short, ideal education, which he kept in mind, was not others than self-cultivation. That meant his students must be obliged to recognize the nature of fine arts through his lessons. This serious attitude needed for students reflected necessarily his serious attitude in composition

Role of psychosocial factors in starting and leaving public assistance programs by older Japanese population: Longitudinal Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study

[Background] Public assistance programs guarantee a minimum living standard, promoting independence for impoverished citizens. Although public assistance eligibility is mainly based on economic factors like poverty, psychosocial factors may be important in initiating and terminating participation. We explored factors governing commencement and termination of public assistance by the older Japanese population between 2013 and 2016. [Methods] We used panel data from the Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study (JAGES), conducted in 2013 and 2016. Fixed-effects regression was used to examine variables in 2013 that were related to receiving public assistance in 2016. The Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology -competence index (TMIG-CI) was used to assess higher-level activities of daily living (ADL, i.e., instrumental ADL, intellectual activity, and social role). The role of individual perceptions of community social cohesion (community trust, mutual help, and attachment), and sociodemographic factors were considered. [Results] While 215 people (0.5%) started receiving public assistance between 2013 and 2016, almost 50% stopped participating. People with higher perceived mutual community help were 1.21 times (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.02–1.46) more likely to commence public assistance three years later. Public assistance recipients who felt community attachment to their resident community, and had social roles were 1.16 (95% CI: 1.06–1.28) and 1.15 (95% CI: 1.01–1.30) times more likely to give up public assistance three years later, respectively, independent of socioeconomic statuses. [Conclusion] Psychosocial factors, including maintaining good relationships with community residents, could be important in accessing and terminating public assistance services

Non-financial social determinants of diabetes among public assistance recipients in Japan: A cohort study

Aims/Introduction: Poverty is an important social determinant of diabetes. Poverty is a multidimensional concept including non-financial difficulties, such as social isolation and exclusion from communities. Many countries provide financial social assistance programs for those in need. This study aimed to explore non-financial social determinants of diabetes among public assistance recipients in Japan, by using linkage data of two municipal public assistance databases and medical assistance claim data. Materials and Methods: We carried out a retrospective cohort study. Public assistance is provided to households below the poverty line to ensure their income security. We extracted recipients’ sociodemographic factors of January 2016 (household number and employment status as non-financial social determinants of diabetes) and identified the incidence of diabetes diagnosis until December 2016 as the outcome. Results: We included the data of 2, 698 younger individuals (aged 65 years). A multivariable Poisson regression, with a robust standard error estimator, showed that among 2, 144 younger recipients at risk, unemployment and living alone were slightly associated with 1-year cumulative incidence of diabetes diagnosis (adjusted incidence ratio 1.20, 95% confidence interval 0.93–1.54 and adjusted incidence ratio 1.15, 95% confidence interval 0.89–1.48, respectively). Among 2, 181 older recipients at risk, there was no strong association between their sociodemographic factors and incidence of diabetes diagnosis. Conclusions: Unemployment and living alone might be additional risk factors for diabetes among younger public assistance recipients. Multidimensional supports assuring financial and non-financial securities are required to prevent diabetes among people living in poverty
