Global demand for Vanya silks in general and tasar silk in particular, call-for sustainable utilization of the country’s seri-biodiversity potential. Viability and productivity proportion of tasarculture in terms of seeds, cocoons and essentially raw silk, need attention for its vital role in reforming the livelihood and economic condition of tribal farmers. The conventional approaches on basic stock maintenance, commercial seed production, selective use of parental races or parents for heterosis and heterobeltiosis, method of backcrossing to exploit the traits of commercial importance and applying the advantage of genotype x environment (G x E) interactions are indispensable. In spite of current knowledge on sophisticated transgenic silkworm, appropriate application of on-hand parental resource material and methodologies can expedite tasar silk productivity improvement in addition to up-keep of the agro based cottage industry’s cost-effectiveness

Twitter Sentiment Analysis using Distributed Word and Sentence Representation

An important part of the information gathering and data analysis is to find out what people think about, either a product or an entity. Twitter is an opinion rich social networking site. The posts or tweets from this data can be used for mining people's opinions. The recent surge of activity in this area can be attributed to the computational treatment of data, which made opinion extraction and sentiment analysis easier. This paper classifies tweets into positive and negative sentiments, but instead of using traditional methods or preprocessing text data here we use the distributed representations of words and sentences to classify the tweets. We use Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) Networks, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Artificial Neural Networks. The first two are used on Distributed Representation of words while the latter is used on the distributed representation of sentences. This paper achieves accuracies as high as 81%. It also suggests the best and optimal ways for creating distributed representations of words for sentiment analysis, out of the available methods.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, 6 table

Dynamic Training Intrusion Detection Scheme for Blackhole Attack in MANETs

    Get PDF
Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a self-configuring network which is composed of several movable mobile nodes. These mobile nodes communicate with each other without any infrastructure. As wireless ad hoc networks lack an infrastructure, they are exposed to a lot of attacks. This paper analyzes the blackhole attack which is one of the possible attacks in ad hoc networks. In a blackhole attack, a malicious node impersonates a destination node by sending a spoofed route reply packet to a source node that initiates a route discovery. By doing this, the malicious node can deprive the traffic from the source node. In order to prevent this kind of attack, it is crucial to detect the abnormality that occurs during the attack. In conventional schemes, anomaly detection is achieved by defining the normal state from static training data. However, in mobile ad hoc networks where the network topology dynamically changes, such static training method could not be used efficiently. In this paper, we propose an anomaly detection scheme using dynamic training method in which the training data is updated at regular time intervals. The simulation results show the effectiveness of our scheme compared with conventional scheme

Sorption Characterization of Crab Shell Chitin Whisker Reinforced Phenol Formaldehyde Nanocomposites

The crab shell chitin diffusion characteristics are studied for their characterization [1].Solvent absorption of chitin reinforced composites is one major concern in the field biomedical applications, especially in tissue engineering for drug delivery. Traditionally diffusion characteristics of chitin whisker embedded in Phenolic matrix are studied to understand their mechanism of solvent absorption and to find  the relationship between  the microscopic structure and the solvent absorption of the composites. The purpose of this study is to facilitate for understanding the behavior of nano chitin loading into the polymer like phenolic composites. The solvent absorption behavior of composites with different fiber loadings percentage by weight was investigated. At a critical chitin fiber loading is reported where the diffusion process is found to be dominant
